meh, you know this by now, right? XD
Now, let’s go back and check on Pocketim and Bakuri, shall we…?
Pocketim and Bakuri commenced to running around in circles like headless chickens, spazzing out, instead of being logical in any form at all.
“ZOMG MY BACKPACK!!!!!!!!!!” was all Pocketim could yell as he ran around.
“Your backpack?!” Bakuri said with a bitter laugh. “MY MILLENNIUM ITEM IS SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT!”
Pocketim looked at her like she was crazy. “Well if it’s gonna be that way…” he said, developing a slight attitude, “then don’t come crying to me if you’re wounded and have nobody to heal you!” And with that, he turned his back on her.
Bakuri just gaped at him for a minute, wondering if he was serious. “Fine then!” she yelled, “then don’t come crying to ME if you get stuck in a sticky situation and have nobody to get you out!” She turned her back on Pocketim as well.
After thinking for a minute, Pocketim sighed. “You know, this is pointless…” he finally said, “we should work together and get both of the items back…”
Bakuri, having walked over to where the forest was, leaned against the tree and sighed. “ I know…” she muttered. “I’m sorry…”
Pocketim just nodded as a way to tell her it was okay. “Both items are important, so we should get them back at any cost.”
“Right.” Bakuri said with a nod.
“Let’s try looking around the forest for a start.” Pocketim said, walking into the forest.
“Good idea,” Bakuri said, following him.
“Who knows?” Pocketim said, “If we’re lucky, we might even find some 1-up mushrooms.”
Bakuri just laughed “I’m glad YOU know the difference.” she said, “I’d probably grab a poison mushroom instead.” After a moment of laughing at her own stupidity, she suddenly stopped.
After hearing the footsteps behind him cease, Pocketim turned around to see Bakuri standing very still, staring straight ahead. “What, Bakuri?” he asked, “Is something wrong?”
“I sense something…” she said, breaking free from her trance-like state and looking around suspiciously. “The source of the power is…” she turned and pointed to her left, “this way!” And with that, she took off running in the direction.
“Bakuri!” Pocketim called, “Wait for me!” He chased after, but soon found himself running right into her where she had sopped in front of him. “Ouch!” he yelled, rolling backwards.
“What the hell…?” Bakuri thought aloud, looking around the small clearing she had stopped at.
“What now?” Pocketim asked.
“It’s gone…”
“Hmm…maybe this is where whatever you sensed was coming from?”
“Maybe…” Bakuri muttered. “Hey, what’s that?” She walked over to a tree and picked up Pocketim’s backpack. “Well…” she said, turning it upside down, “I found it…”
“What the…?”
“But it’s empty.” she finished lamely, tossing it back to the ground where Pocketim was still sitting.
“Well…” he said, getting up and picking up the backpack, “at least we have something to store any items we find in.” Bakuri just responded with a shrug. “Let’s head back to the forest,” he suggested, “and see if we can find any 1-up mushrooms.”
“You go ahead…” she said, looking around her suspiciously. “I’m gonna look around here for a little while…”
“Okay.” he replied. “Use your Shadow Magic and contact me if you find anything, okay?” He turned and walked through the trees.
Before looking, Bakuri went ahead and set up the mind link with Pocketim. “Testing, 1, 2, 3...” she said, laughing a bit in spite of herself, “Can you hear me?”
“I can hear you fine,” Pocket replied, “I’ll be going now.”
“Okay,” Bakuri replied, “just making sure.” She proceeded to kneel down and examine the ground around her…
