the Tale part 3: New News
---5 years later---
"Hikari!"
She turned, nearly dropping the box she was holding. "Hey, Yami." Hikari said with a grin. "What's goin on?"
Yami ran up to the other girl and walked alongside her. "I dunno," she said with a shrug, "but Papa asked me to come get you. He says there's something important we need to hear."
Hikari shrugged. "I'll be right there. Let me get this box into my room first..."
Yami took the box from her hands and shoved it into the nearest spirit's hands, who looked at her with a confused expression. "Take this to Hikari's room, got it?"
The spirit nodded and ran off, carrying the box in its hands.
"How did it not fall through its hands...?" Hikari wondered aloud, following Yami down the long cooridor to their father's chamber.
The king looked up as they entered. "Ah, Hikari!" he said with a smile, "I see Yami found you okay."
"It wasn't that hard." Yami said with a laugh.
Hikari glared at her. "Not funny." she growled, trying to think of a comeback. She thought of something, but instead of saying it, she sent it to Yami through a mind link.
Yami abruptly stopped laughing and glared at Hikari. "Curse you and your comebacks..." she growled.
"Now now," the king said, "Aren't we suppossed to be friends?"
The two looked at each other, shrugged, then laughed. "So what'd ya want, Daddy?" Hikari asked. "I was in the middle of moving my stuff into my new room and-"
The king's face turned very serious, signaling Hikari to silence herself. She drew back a bit, knowing that there was no good news. "Girls, something important has happened." he told them. "There was an attack earlier today from the Light Realm. It seems their king doesn't know the meaning of a truce."
The two gasped. "What?!" Yami exclaimed, "Does this mean we're going to war?!"
The king nodded. "There's one more thing." he added. "I'll be going away for awhile to lead an attack. We're going to keep this battle in the Light Realm so that no innocent people are hurt here."
"But..." Hikari looked worried. "Wouldn't innocent people still be hurt there...?"
The king ndoded. "That would be their own king's fault." he said. "If he wants to break the truce and start a war, he can put his OWN people at risk." He rested a hand on Hikari's shoulder. "But I promise you, I'm not going to hurt anyone on PURPOSE."
She nodded. "Be careful, okay Papa?" Yami said beside them.
The king nodded. "I leave everything to you two." he said, standing to his full height.
"Then don't worry about a thing!" Hikari said with a grin.
"Yeah!" Yami added. "Together there's NOTHING we can't do!"
The king smiled. "I knew i was leaving this realm in good hands." he said. Then he turned and waved the two away. "Go on now, I have preparations to finish. Yami, would you mind helping Hikari get into her new room?"
"No prob!" she shouted. "C'mon let's go!" The two ran down the hall and into Hikari's old room to gather the rest of her stuff.
The king sighed. "If only they knew the true dangers of war...Then they'd understand..."
---1 month later---
Hikari yawned, pulling off her tiara and twirling it on her finger. "Didn't Daddy say he'd be back in like...2 weeks?" she asked Yami.
Yami shrugged, standing up to stretch. "I don't remember." she answered. "But he has been gone a long time..."
Hikari slipped the tiara back onto her head and twirled in her chair so that her legs hung over the arm. "It's just that he's been gone for a long time... and who would've thought that ruling a kingdom would be so BORING!"
Yami shook her head. "More like annoying." she corrected. "'Oh no princess, you musn't use that knife! You could hurt yourself! Here let me cook that meal for you so that you don't burn yourself!' I THINK I can make ramen on my own!"
Hikari laughed. "Yeah well at least they let you brush your own hair." she said. "'Oh princess, you must be careful! You don't want breakage in your hair, do you? Here let me do it.' Maybe i should shave it all off and get a wig so they'll leave me alone!"
"Don't do anything THAT drastic." Yami said with a laugh.
"Princesses!" Angela flew through the door. Ever since Hikari had put a spell on her room, even the spirits had to use the door like normal humans and couldnt go through her walls.
"What is it NOW, Angel?" Yami asked, rolling her eyes.
"It's about your father." she panted.
Both of them sat straight up. Hikari nearly fell out of her chair in the process. "Daddy...?"
"What's wrong?!" Yami asked, reading Angela's terrified look.
"I've gotten word..." she breathed, "That your father has been killed in battle!"

btw i had this idea the king of the light realm killed this man name repivkrad who helped james when he was still learning (legend of the freak king) since you said the king of light was the brother of the norms so yeah this is how it gos
the king of the norms found out about the man repivkrad who was helping james then tells the king of light to go take care of him then one day as james went to repivkrad's house he sees his dead body with a light sword impaled in him with his blood written on the wall "You're next Freak..." |
