Question

Posted 11-05-2009 at 04:54 PM by GreenThunder
I've been playing FFV Advance/FFVI Advance on an SP lately, and there are a few things that have been annoying me, badly.

FFV Advance - Certain character sprites flicker in battle; The ATB Gauge stops randomly for periods of 4-7 seconds; There are some weird graphical glitches in places with a heat haze/water haze effect.

Aside from that, I've been watching the game being played on an emulator, and during that, I don't see any of these problems, I also haven't seen anyone whose had these kinds of problems with the game before whilst playing on an SP/DS/Orig.GBA either.

FFVI Advance - Minor stuff; the gauge stops for inconvenient periods of time, a few graphical spasms in desert areas.

So, I'm asking, is it my copy of the game, or is it my SP?

I've been searching and searching, but everyone I've seen hasn't had these kinds of problems with the games.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me figure this out.

Most likely cartridge problems. If it has anything to do with the Game boy, it's not because it's an SP, but because it's got problems near the cartridge. At least, with the info you're giving, that's what it sounds like.

Did you buy both games used?

@Ece; Yeah, both were used. Problems near the cartridge though?

I'm going to try playing 'em on a different system, to see if I get the same results.

@hokie; Easier for me to get it resolved here.
