This thread is merely here to help schedule chatroom roleplays in a way that everyone can know when they're going to happen. I have recieved many complaints from people who would have liked to join but could not due to not being informed prior to the roleplay, so I decided to make this thread. It is merely a convience. If you want to roleplay but none of your friends wish to roleplay with you, you can post here and see if anyone else is open to the idea.

When scheduling times, be sure to tell if the time you're going by is EST, Central, etc.

Role-Play Character Backstory Contest!

Goal: To let everyone know your character's past - and to make it the most interesting one anyone's ever seen!

Entries should be short stories and can be in either your character's point of view or a third person point of view. Please try to keep it as short as possible without leaving out any important information.

Rules:

Your character must be entirely original - as in, not a copy of a character from a movie, game, etc. (You can, however, look at characters for ideas.)
You may not copy or use another person's RP character.
You may advertise the contest, but do not campaign for votes.
The story can not be less than 200 words.
Be sure to only cover the important backstory information - don't get too off-topic!

Heres my character, Bleka:

Bleka doesn't remember where, r when he was born, all he remember was waking up as a 17 year old and never aging. He is one of the 2 DragonBlisses. He could summon the god of dragons by ripping his blade out of his tremendous sword, the blade then turns into the dragon, he could also turn his blade into the dragons tail and increase its power by 10x. Also, whenever he comes into contact with ANY loose thread of the Alter demension, he becomes 30x as powerful.

My dreams are typically strange and weird but not in the sense that they are meaningless but, abnormal and different.

I had a dream were I was something else. I've been having these a lot lately. In the dream I was a Pokemon. It was strange because, unlike most dreams, I felt different, like I wasn't human. I had forgotten what it meant to be human, but also who I was. The Walking on all fours, like most pokemon, felt normal to me and even feeling a tail was as familiar to me as my own arms and legs. That strange feeling of power moving through my body, much like a being shocked by a power outlet but painless, is soothing like the warmth of a fire on a cold day.

I remember waking up in a cozy little notch in the tree I where I live. Getting out into the warmth of the sun and stretching my body. As I began [this is where you change tense, watch out for that] to clean myself after the long night. The pokemon who lived in the tree were out playing in the grass. As we played I began to think about how not one of us were alike but how we were so close to each other. I chased an eevee up one of the trees: she gave me quite a chase but I managed to catch up and get her. The feelings of the perfect balance and agility were invigorating. As we began to tire, we headed to the stream to rest.

As I reached for the berries of the tree, only dangling a few feet above the water. I begin to look down at my reflection, I see that I have become a real mess scence the accident. random hair was sticking out like lightning and a purplish bloch of juice on my hind leg. I could soke it in the water but I would probably get shocked.

After collecting my favorite berries and carried them to a dark green patch of grass and began to eat as I gazed at the stain still think about what had happend. It had been a day much like today had been, but unlike today when we got to the stream a slowpoke was playing it the water. When I went to get a drink I was spashed in te face soaking my nodes shocking both me and everyone touching the water. It was so embarrassing that I didn't even leave my notch for three days and it would have been longer if eevee had talked to me. Eevee and I have been best friends scence then, but I still won't go into the water.

As I finished, I noticed everyone had stopped and gotten very still. Something was wrong but I didn't see anything. Everyone began to panic and run. It was then that i knew one of those strange creatures, I had heard stories about how they take pokemon with strange magic orbs for their own. I should have ran but I was standing in place, trembling in fear. The human began to pull out a magic orb. It was then I began to run but it was too late. When the ball hit the ground it emitted a strange light as a strange force pulled me in. I began screaming for help but I knew no one could help.

Inside the orb I began to weep completely bathed in darkness... Wondering if I would ever see my friends again. Suddenly, I sat up not knowing where I was. I looked over at my alarm clock, it was three AM. I began to wonder about this all-too-real dream I had, wishing I could relive it again just to be at that perfect place. Realizing that I probably wouldn't feel the way I did in my dream ever again.

I have had this dream twenty two times each one I write more and more of what I am doing, seeing, feeling, and thinking.

Trainer:good ol 8 gym, save the world thing.
Ploice force: stop team rocket and keep order in the regin
Team rocket: cheat, steal and fight your way to the top f the bunch
Pkemon pocher: hunt down rare pokemon wild and otherwise for big cash
other: your own thing, be creative(ex gym leader, team rocket elite.)

Almost all characters will start inside their own room in the S.S anne.

you can also add some music to your character but keep it as a spoiler. it saves more space in the long run.

you can pick ALMOST ANY POKEMON AS YOUR STARTER. (No legends duh...)

Ok so you can join this role playing group by just on here you will need to say I would like to join or something like that and then you are in this to do some fun Role Plays. What we will be doing is well of course we will be doing Role Plays but we will come up with Role Plays to do then we will go into chat and we will do a role play ok we will try that. How will we know what Role play to do well how you will know is all the members of this group will vote on what Role Play we will do I will come up with three choices to pick from and then all the members in the group will vote for one like here for example.

Ok then the one with the highiest votes of yes then we will do that one and I will well we all will work on the stuff on what to say with it for the members in this group then when we go into chat if we would we would do a role play but what I would do so when it is your turn well I will give the whole script to each member of this group then they should write it down and then when we are in the chat they will not forget their lines or line so that is what I would do. Once upon a time...

Roleplay of Destiny

This was a roleplay that me Nessa (LadyHood) and Eyria had started a long while back. Oops. Also Dynamo was a part of this.
Started, but reached the climax and never finished.

Here's how it went.

"A young man (My character). Had begun to travel the continent, destroying villages as he went. Persued by 2 of his friends, Eyria (A shapeshifter), Lady (Telekinetic powers/anything mind related). As Alex went about destroying villages (accompanied by Dyna), they had reached a city...a very large and extravagant city. But as they headed towards it, the 2 friends had caught up to the pair. Both were restrained and had nowhere else to turn. Alex then decided to release a switch, triggering an explosive concealed in Dynas shirt...he was going to sacrifice Dyna as his last resort to escape. That is what the others had thought, but the explosive was a dud. Eyria had released Alex and he had made his escape. Dyna, wasn't so happy about the bomb trick...so feeling betrayed he had joined the others and chased down Alex. Once the group had caught up to him miles away. They had noticed a man...in Black armor. They witnessed as the man and Alex merged. The group began to attack, Eyria had formed a Cat and sunk her teeth into the mans armor...releasing a poision gas and throwing her back. Nessa then attacked with a ball of energy, but the man had reflected it, sending her back, a force strong enough for her to make an impression in the tree. A sudden sight, the man and Alex had been split apart...Alex suffering various wounds. As it seemed, the excess of power had caused a strong enough strain on their bodies, noticing this, the Knight had fled through a portal...into another realm. Eyria, who also posessed healing powers, had rushed to Nessas side, and restored her energy. Eyria had begun restoring Alex soon after...but he had knew of his betrayal, and rushed into the portal, not fully healed. The two had decided to follow after speaking, and headed in. They ended up in the alternate dimension, but ended up in seperate areas. Eyria, the forest and Nessa a grassland. But all were linked to one main area, a large foreboding castle. After such a long and tiring walk...they had finally reached the castle. Alex having been the one to arrive first had been found eating in a large dining area. Nessa...had noticed a large portrait, of what seemingly was her, ignoring it for now. She continued into the dining hall with Eyria, enjoyed a meal, and the 3 found rooms to sleep in. Later the next day, we found the weapon storage, and equipped ourselves for the fight we knew that was ahead. As we made our way, we noticed large doors, and knew what awaited us, waltzing through, we were ready for a fight. As we entered, we encountered the Knight, without hesitation, Alex drew his sword and attacked, Eyria followed the attack. But...throughout this fight, our friend Nessa felt a sudden oncoming of deja vu. Alex, latching on to the night, decided that he would use an explosive to destroy them both. Nessa had realized something though, and defended the Knight against the attack. Alex had been saved too. But as the armor fell to the floor, we realized the Dark Knight was Shad. A long time friend of Nessas? Or a figure of the past? The fight wasn't over though...large black symbols had appeared on Alex's body...what were they?"

That was as far as we had gotten and we now wish to continue, with even more people involved =D

Feel free to join in anyone, and please...no characters that are invincible and impervious to all types of attacks. That ruins the epic storyline D:

But either way, feel free to join, I'll be continuing the storyline as we go. Adding bits and parts but if you want me to add you in ask now.

Alex (GT) - Swordsman/Explosive Expert (Bad guy for most of this RP seeing as the Dark symbol controls weak minded 'hosts')

Ok, so.
This is thread is for anyone to post on how to improve the section.
Make it more flashy or exciting or what-not.
First things first.
I'd like to see a some-what of a tutorial for Role-Playing.
Cos there are to main ways to RP.

One, which is what I've been seeing a lot of here.
Are personal story-like RP's.

The other, which so far, I can only think of One Thread like this.
Is where one person posts something and then someone else does and so on and so on. Sure this one is the easy part. You just post and action which is related to the Role Play at hand.

The Story-like one.
Thats the one which'll need a tutorial.
Well, if you don't like that term tutorial, then guide line.
I'd do one.
IF I was used to writing RP's like that.
But I'm not.
Cos, it may help attract more members, and splash up the place with more RP's because people would actually know what they have to do.

Role Playing FAQ

1) What is role playing?

Role playing can be many different things, done in many different ways. Some examples are:

• Taking on the role of another person and pretending to be them. This is usually used as a therapeutic technique to help mend broken relationships, or even as a joke between friends.
• Taking on the role of a character from a TV show, video game, etc. and playing out a story as those characters. This is considered a form of fan fiction.
• Taking on the role of your own original character and pretending to be them. You can play out a story, or even just joke around.

Either way, role playing is fun! You get the opportunity to step out of your own shoes for awhile and become someone else! It's just like Halloween, minus the silly costumes!

2) How do I role play?

This is a very difficult question to answer; there's so many different ways! And everyone has their own role playing style!

Let's look back at question 1. I told you about 3 different ways to role play, right? The first 2 are pretty self-explanatory, so let's look at the 3rd.

First, you have to establish your character. Start with something simple...like his/her name. Pick something that sounds good to you. You can even use your own name if you'd like!

Now, let's see what your character can do. Does he/she fight? If so, how? Does he/she have magical powers? Are they offensive or defensive powers? It also helps to name their moves. Or maybe they don't have any powers at all! Maybe they're skillful with a bow, or a great swordsman. Do what you like! Don't forget, though, that all characters must have a weakness of some kind.

Now for the fun part. Every character needs a good background story! Is he/she good or evil? Or maybe neutral? Where is he/she from? What is it he/she wants most? What fuels this desire? Heck, even worry about the little things, like if they're selfish or generous!

As you can see, there's actually quite a bit of work that goes into role playing! But that's fine; this is half the fun!

3) I want to try role playing, but nobody will join me! D:

Have you checked out the Lair of the Role Players? I'm sure someone there is willing to role play with you! However, don't go to the extent of spamming or annoying people about it. That will drive people away.

Easy! Just come up with a plot you plan to follow, or a goal you'd like to accomplish. If you don't want to do that, just have a scenario the characters are thrown into and build from there!

5) Where can I go for role playing?

Lots of places. Check out the other role playing threads and see if they interest you. Or you can role play in the chat room and get someone to join you in the role play room or a wifi room. You could also role play in blogs (here is a good example), profile comments, etc.

6) I was yelled at and/or banned for role playing in chat! WTF!

I certainly hope you weren't in the main chat...role playing isn't allowed there! You have to take it to another room. Role playing can interrupt others' conversations. Have some respect!

7) People keep interrupting my chat role plays. How do I keep them out?

Unfortunately, this is a problem all role players must face. There are always n00bs who can't mind their own business and go into a random room asking "does ne1 have pkmn???" Asking these people to leave usually works, but when they don't listen, the ignore button offers a quick fix!

8) I want to role play, but I'm not in the mood to play out some story...

Then just be silly! Heck, just look on my profile and there are probably some RP-ish comments! It's fine to goof off sometimes; role playing is supposed to be FUN!!!

9) People won't stop bugging me about wanting to role play!

Then take it as a compliment! If people keep asking you to role play, they probably think you're good at it! And if you don't want to role play, then just say so! It's okay to not want to role play sometimes. I'm quite sure the person(s) asking will understand. If not, they fail. =P

The Lair of the Role Players

This is just for people who LOVE to roleplay! And I dont mean just posting random stuff and calling it roleplaying...being silly is one thing, but posting random crap is NOT what we mean. As long as it has a plotline, it's good :D

There are 3 groups of roleplayers: the comedian, the adventurer, and the all-arounder. Though it's rather obvious what these mean, i'm going to explain them anyway =P:

The Comedian:

Though they can pull off a serious roleplay at times, the comedian's specialty tends to be doing roleplays that appeal to a person's sense of humor. Usually, they just fool around and have fun in their roleplays =P

The Adventurer:

Just like with comedians, adventurers can pull off a silly roleplay, but their specialty tends to be going through...well, an adventure in their roleplays. They tend to be rather serious about things, and try to make sure the plot runs smoothly to create something that could also be an epic story.

The All-Arounder:

Well...the name tells all. The all-arounder tends to balance out both adventerous roleplays and humorous ones. Maybe they do both, or maybe they're very good at throwing humor into amazing adventures. Either way, all-arounders pwn since they can do anything =P

TO JOIN YOU MUST FILL OUT A FORM INCLUDING:

~ Your alias (what you USUALLY go by in RolePlays. This can change if you decide to change your character.)
~ Your alliance (good, evil, or neutral) (This can be changed at any time, if necessary ;))
~ The type of roleplayer you are (This can also be changed at any time :D)
~ A brief synopsis of your character, or a link to one. (The synopsis including what he/she can do, any important background information, etc.)
~ And anything else you think we should know ^_^

RULES FOR JOINING:

~ No causal roleplayers =P
~ No spam (le duh?)
~ No god-modding. Meaning, don't make your character so powerful they can't be beaten - everyone MUST have a weakness of some sort.
~ Keep cussing to a minimum. Like if someone you really cared about just got killed, I know that saying "DARN IT!" just doesnt cut it. But, please, dont cuss just for the sake of cussing. -.-'
~ Be respectful. Fighting/killing in your roleplay is one thing, 'cuz it adds to the plot, but outside of roleplays, its a no-no. so be nice :D
~ Roleplays should be done in chat, blogs, etc. Not here. This is a place to talk about your love for roleplaying, your character's persona, or past roleplays you've done. so please do not roleplay here, okay? :D
~ Please remember to be active in both your roleplaying and here!
~ Most importantly, have fun! n_n

Think of this as a clan, of sorts. Except instead of playing Pokemon or SSBB, we RolePlay! Hey, RolePlaying is a game, in my opinion. So it counts!

Black = neutral
Red = evil

And a few more points, too! For one thing, we'd all love to read your roleplays! Why not copy and paste them as you go, and post them in blogs?! Sure, it'll take a few per RP, but that's okay!
Another thing that's fun to do is type up biographys for your character! Or you could even make a whole story out of it! Not only is it interesting, it's fun! You can show why your character is the way he/she is today, and have fun doing it! Be sure to put these in your blogs as well! ;)
When you do these things, be sure to put a link in the blog archive for easy access! n_n

Role Playing Blacklist

The ugleh green color is for the folks who are baaaad, and therefore banned from RolePlaying. Well, official LotRP roleplays, anyway.
These include god-modders, rule-breakers, and hardheaded people who won't listen to advice, criticism, etc. Annoying people could also be added...Depending on what kind of annoying they are.

Everytime I change my profile to a certain character, I roleplay that character. I even went as far as to make an actual storyline with a Death Note roleplay in my blog with my cousin and a couple of other participants. I just wanted to know, how many of you roleplay and how much?
