Hey Borderlands PC players, here's that patch you wanted

Update 1.01 for the PC version of Borderlands is here! Thank goodness, because after looking over the patch notes, you can't help but notice just how big some of these issues really are.

Characters that have lost skill points will have the lost points refunded
Clients will no longer lose proficiency progress upon leaving a co-op game
Item cards now display the intended five lines of detail text
Lilith's Phase strike and melee attacks from Phase Walk now function as intended
Voicechat: users can now control volume and individually mute players
Fixed a bug that sometimes caused CL4P-TP to stop progressing during the introduction
Server browser population times have been improved
Server information should now always display the correct plot mission
Benchmarking feature now works as intended
Nvidia 3D Vision visuals now render shadows correctly (requires minimum 195.28 drivers, available from nVidia)

Take note: if you own a retail copy of the game, you can get the patch directly from Gearbox; if you own a digital copy, whether it be from Steam or elsewhere, you'll have to wait on your distributor to get it out to you. Thankfully, that should be happening momentarily.

Hey i just brought turok for the PC .... A little bit of a misteak seeing as i meet the system requirments ..... but it dosnt support inbuilt graphics cards from intel so gonna keep that for a rainy day when i get my desktop back

Since the alienware is my fathers.I need my own little gaming PC, nothing fancy just something thats at a reasonable price to get the job done.So I found a couple PC's and drives for around 500-600 bucks are they powerfull enough to run games like Resident evil 5 and gears of war?I getting into PC gaming cause A the games are cheaper and B it sounds better.

These glitches were all found by me! Enjoy!

1.Making a child traped in the fire pit on fire: (1) Put wood and dry grass in the fire pit. (2) Make a fire. (3) *before the fire starts* Put a child in the fire pit so he stands on wood. (4) The fire starts and the child is traped till you drag him/her out or restart the game.

2.Traped by the gong of wonder statue(right side)! NOTE: this glitch requires you to have the vines near the Gong of wonder un-cut!: (1) Drag a villager to the gong of wonder's nose, drop the villager a little right of the nose. (2) The villager is traped in a little square now, this can be done with unlimited amout of villagers.

3. Traped by the Gong of wonder statue (Left side)! *Same requirements as #2.: (1) Drag a villager to the gong of wonder, move left to the nearest palm tree, drop the villager on-top the palm trees leaves. (2) *same as #2's (2)*.

4.Stange water ring out of the water NOTE:*Requires not to have built a dam yet: (1) On the south-east part of the island, There is a red plant next to the pool of water. (2) Click right of the red plant near a stump. (3) If you find it, there is a hidden ring of water that can be clicked there!

Gabe Newell: Yes, We're Still Working on Half-Life 2: Episode 3

Last night's episode of Gametrailers TV had plenty of information and goodies for Left 4 Dead fans, but what about people who are interested in Valve's other stuff?

GTTV host Geoff Keighley asked fans to send him question for Valve CEO Gabe Newell via Twitter, and one disgruntled fan called the developer out on the long development cycle of the final Half-Life 2 episode: "Are you still even working on Half-Life 2: Episode 3? When can we micro-invest in it through Steam so it will actually come out?"

Laughing, Newell deflected the question, saying that he had nothing to say at the moment about Episode 3, but that Valve would let people know when it did. When Keighley pressed to see if it was still under development, though, Newell (sort of) caved: "Yes, of course we're still doing it."

Speaking of sequels, he then said that fans should send him a list of which sequel they'd like to see more: Counterstrike 2 or Portal 2 - personally, Newell said he'd be more interested in Portal 2, but either way, he's going to have one full inbox.

Another Twitter question wondered what exactly Gabe & Company had against the PS3: "Why are you so vocal against the PS3 when other companies just stay quiet and do what they do?" Newell admitted that it was partly out of frustration, since Valve felt that it had done the worst job supporting its customers on Sony's console, and didn't have the capability to deliver them content like they could on the 360 or PC.

Still, when asked if Valve was working on the PS3 in an attempt to get better at programming for it, Newell's response was fairly clear: "No. Not in any real way."

So, when Half-Life 2: Episode 3 does eventually come out after Valve is done learning ASL, it probably won't be on the PS3. Gee, you'd almost think Gabe Newell has a grudge against the console or something.

StarCraft II Officially Delayed to 2010

It's official. You won't be playing StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty this year, as Blizzard has moved the release date of the real-time strategy game to the "first half of 2010." No, they never dated it; but they have now.

Activision Blizzard's reason for the delay of StarCraft II is reportedly tied to the relaunch of its upgraded Battle.net service, which handles multiplayer for all things Blizzard. In a statement to the Blizzard community, the developer writes "Over the past couple of weeks, it has become clear that it will take longer than expected to prepare the new Battle.net for the launch of the game."

Blizzard calls the new Battle.net an "integral part of the StarCraft II experience and will be an essential part of all of our games moving forward." Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said during an investor call today that the new iteration of Battle.net will likely be ready "early next year."

While disappointing, it's not surprising. Blizzard staffers have indicated a need for a four to six month beta period for StarCraft II, one that has yet to kick off, eight months into 2009.

Blizzard had previously planned for one "frontline" release this year, largely presumed to be the first entry in the StarCraft II trilogy, a goal that it doesn't appear it will be meeting. Your best bet for going hands-on with StarCraft II in 2009 is either a trip to BlizzCon or (possibly) during Gamescom in Cologne.

Mine was assault. I like using the light rifle but I really shine as a squad leader and a medic, I have tons of medic badges. I also mainly play Titan Assault, so reviving people comes quite in handy.

Resident Evil 5 PC Benchmark Released

As with SFIV, it's a BENCHMARK which means all it'll do is show you snippets of gameplay and how well your computer renders everything, which means it's not playable. But it's good to see if your comp can handle it well or at all. So here it is guys.

Oh by the way some sources claim it's the "3D demo" for the Nvidia 3d glasses but other sources indicate that it still serves the same purpose for everyone else, so give it a shot (I'm downloading as we speak, 14%).

The Game Feedback Thread is here for you. Just ask about a game here and wait for somebody to reply.
The replies don't have to be massive. 1-2 paragraphs is good. 4-6 sentences makes a paragraph. But don't worry, we won't go grammar nazi on you lol. These can be considered mini-reviews.

Can anybody give me feedback on FlyFF?

FlyFF is a marvelous MMORPG. Beautiful graphics, many quests, and lots of people to play with. You start out as a vagrant. Somebody without any real purpose. You gain 3 skills on your way to Level 15. Which is when you're practically forced to choose one of four quests to complete. Depending on which quest you choose, you will become either an Acrobat, Assist, Magician, or a Mercenary. As you level up, you gain skill points and stat points. Skill points can be used to level up the skills you learn and stat points can be used to increase your stats. Stats consist of Strength, Stamina, Dexteriry, and Intelligence. Depending on what job you want and how you want to play, you're going to have to distribute your skill and stat points correctly. PvP is works very well. You can challenge anyone over Level 14 to a duel anywhere. FlyFF has 5 in-game regions which are inhabited by monsters of different levels.

I have Team Fortress 2 for the PC, but after I bought it I realized that the graphics card in my computer really stinks and I need a new one because right now it is virtually unplayable. I know its the graphics cards Video RAM because I used "Can You Run It" and the only thing below recommended was the Video RAM.

So I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for graphics cards that are good enough so that I may play it. The graphics card in my computer right now is a NVidia GeForce 6100. Team Fortress 2 is recommended to have 256 MB of Video RAM.

In my opinion, I like this Mugen way better than the old one. Not only does it have more features, but it's more stable. If you've played M.U.G.E.N., you should give ShugenDo a try! (it's worth it) Now, if the online feature gets sorted out, we'll be able to have battles against each other around here. I'd like to see this project completed one day. :)

Bejeweled Twist! An excellent game in my opinion. However, it doesn't get given enough chances. I've suggested it to most of my friends and they think that's it too hard. Well, if you work at it, then maybe it would be more fun. Most games work like that. What do you think?

Alright everyone. For anyone interested in online PC gaming, well you need LAN to play most games multiplayer, especially RTS's.. except a few that run on steam.

Anyway. Hamachi is a software that allows you to have an online virtual LAN with any other user on the Hamachi servers.

What you need to do is first download the software, here.

After that you can create/join networks and play with other members on LAN. It sure is fun to play Rise of Nations with people I know =P

Anyway. Use this thread to post your network names and your passwords as well as the game name and the version of the game which is very important.

Has This Ever Happened to you?

This Kick-ass game is announced to release in two months. You Pre-order it.you wait. you wait some more.you read previews of the game. you wait more. FINALLY the game comes out! You Run like a maniac to you local Gaming Store (EB/GameStop/PNT/ect). You Wait in a huge line for hours to get your PC game. when you receive it, you go to you "epic Gaming Rig". you install the game! but wait! an error saying "you PC cannot handle this epic game! lolol you suck!"
You go in shame back to you local game store and you return it because you couldnt play it... everyone there laughs at you... you cry.

well, this no longer can happen if you use this site. This site scans your computer to see if your computer can handle the game you want to buy. Why buy the game if it wont even run on your computer?
It has a wide selection of already-released PC games.

Don't worry its completly free and it's not harmful to your computer in anyway.
So why not try it out before you waste your time!

Xfire features the ability to detect the video game a particular contact is running. By analyzing running processes, Xfire can detect active games and send that information to Xfire clients with the current player as a friend. Xfire also includes the support for sending and receiving instant messages from inside a game in fullscreen mode, eliminating the need to minimize the game window. Users can also send in-game messages to other players without joining the game. Users are also able to see what games their friends are playing.

Voice chat

With version 1.43, released August 2005, Xfire, Inc. added a beta voice chat feature using Voice over IP technology, similar to, among others, TeamSpeak, Ventrilo, GameStreet Talk, etc.

Screenshots and videos

Xfire has the ability to take screenshots in game and save them to a specified folder, though this only works with Xfire In-Game-supported games, unlike Fraps. A user can take as many in-game screen shots as they want. Once the user exits their game, Xfire will load all of their screenshots in a window, where the user can then select all of the screen shots that they want to upload to their Xfire profile page. Users can also give each screenshot a caption. However, there are some games that are not compatible with Xfire In-Game.

Clan and guild system

In version 1.63, Xfire released a beta clan system. This allowed users to create clans or guilds on the Xfire website and invite members (recruits can also ask to join). Many other features were also associated with this such as setting up ranks, favorite games and the number of hours everyone has been playing. With version 1.85, the Clans & Guilds system was officially released.

Live Video (Broadcasting)

Xfire added a video streaming feature in version 1.97. This feature is still in the Alpha phase, and a broadcast must be viewed using a web browser plugin, unfortunately only supporting Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox at the present time. It lets anyone watch a live feed of a user's screen while they are playing a game. When a user begins a stream, it opens up a chatroom which anyone who is watching your live feed can join.

In-Game Web Browsing

In-game internet browsing capabilities were added to Xfire in version 1.103.(Not recommended for people with ADD or people who naturally have a slow computer when playing games).

Third-party modifications

There are many third party modifications for Xfire's client and services, including skins, infoview templates, plugins, and protocol implementations. Some of these may or may not violate Xfire's Terms of Service, according to paragraph 6[11].

Skins and Infoviews

Skins can be used to provide a new look to the Xfire Client and chat windows, and Infoview skins can be used to provide extra functionality in the infoview pane. Skins are created through XML and image files, and Infoviews are created using HTML, Javascript, and images.

A site designed to let you find an Xfire skin for your favourite game, brand, or even for a clan. You can also find infoview skins and tutorials on how to make your own skin.

Xfire plugins

Xfire Plus

A compilation of extension programs and files that allow you to enhance your Xfire client.

Programs such as the Music plugin allow you to display the music you are currently playing, whereas the Xfire Web Messenger allows you to chat with your Xfire friends anywhere in the world, from any Java supporting operating system.

Xfire Music Plugin

A public domain standalone plugin for Windows Media Player on 32-bit operating systems that sets the user's status to a customizable string based on the media they are currently playing. The source is provided with the plugin and wi-fi.

Multi-protocol messenger plugins

The following plugins allow users to chat on Xfire with other instant messaging clients.

Gfire
A Pidgin plugin which lets users chat and see what games their friends are playing. It is the first Xfire client for Linux.

Miranda IM plugin
Chat with people on XFire, game detection and much more.

Trillian Plugin
Allows users to chat and see the status of their friends; also detects games when the user runs them.

Xblaze
An open source plugin for Adium that allows communication over the Xfire protocol. It is the first Xfire client for Mac OS X However, as of Nov.25/08 Xfire will not work on any mac due to a new Xfire update.

PlayXpert
Built by former Xfire users, includes support for chatting over the Xfire protocol, among many other features; also includes game detection.

Help extracting a game

So I sarted downloading a game (the sims2 double deluxe) yesterday night... When I woke up I saw that 2 parts had a problem( They couldn't be downladed form the server cause they were deleted)... I was desparate to play the game... so i googled it and found the same game parts form the same dump team...and downloaded them... When i took a look inside they iso file wasn't in the directory where the other iso file parts where but it was in another directory.. Heres what i mean:

I noticed that Ruone made a thread for Steam Ids, and its become quite popular.

For those of you who don't know, Steam is an online game manager where you readily have access to many Valve games plus others by publishers such as Sega, Thq, Activision and many, many more.

There is a large community user-base where members can get together and talk about their games, groups, clans, mods and more.

A large chunk of the steam community are involved in what's called "Source" games where users and editors have teamed together to modify the "source" of a particular game, whether it be Team Fortress 2, or Half Life or something else.

Is this the sort of thing you as a Pc user would take benefit of, if so what kind of features would you utilize.

Would you want more games, more options, more publishers.

Or are you the kind of person who would never go near this kind of gaming?

Quite a few people have started playing this game recently, and we would like to invite you to play along with us!

For those of you who have no idea what it is i'll explain it.

Have you every played Worms? If so you'll be right at home playing Gunbound.

Basically you have 2 teams. Red vs Blue. Each team can have up to 4 players, but both teams have to be the same size.

You pick a "mobile" to use (which is pretty much the type of weapon you use).

Once everyone has picked their mobile the "master" of the room hits start and your off.

The objective of the game is to shoot the other team members and either kill them, or make them fall off the stage by destroying the ground below them.

How you go about it is fairly straight forward. You use the up and down arrows to change the angle of your shot, use the left and right buttons to move to different spots, then press and hold the space bar to give your shots power then let go of it to let the shot go.

While it sounds really easy, it is only to a point. There are all sort of different things to factor in while playing.
