Comex has officially released a new version of BannerBomb compatible with Nintendo's newly released System Menu 4.2!
Bannerbomb Allows the user to load a .dol or .elf file from an SD card, as well as being able to install the HBC on System Menu 4.2 and below via the BootMii Installer.
Bannerbomb is an exploit capable of launching homebrew from any version of the System Menu. It was created to replace the Twilight Hack, which does not work on System Menu 4.0.
The exploit works by using a malformed banner to crash the Wii and run code to load the boot.dol placed in the root of the SD card. It can be used to install the Homebrew Channel, DVDx and the BootMii public beta via the hackmii installer.

source

Download Bannerbomb: bannerbomb
Hackmii installer: BootMii.org

Quote:

Get a SD card. If it has a private directory, rename it temporarily, e.g. to "privateold". Having other saved channels on the same card will screw it up.
Download abd6a_v200.zip and unzip it onto the SD card.
Go download the HackMii installer. Copy installer.elf to the root of the SD card, and rename it to boot.elf.
Press the SD card icon (for the SD menu). This is different from the last version. Then insert the card. It should either pop up Load boot.dol/elf? or freeze.
If it pops up a dialog, then fill out the survey.
If you encounter any problems from then on, don't try other versions (it won't help), but see the information below the survey.

It's the same crap, but now on 4.2, yay!
Nintendo still fails to block the cool ways to do things ;)

Well, good news. For those of you who updated your Wii's, you can install homebrew channel now! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Right?

Well, not ALL of you can. So, I'd suggest going and buying a copy of Lego Indiana Jones, since that is a requirement. Similar to the ever famous Twilight Hack, Indiana pwns is a save game file. You'd just replace the private folder on your SD card, with the one in the download which will be provided at the end of this post, And launch Indiana Jones. Once it's launched, you would proceed to the art room (No idea where this is, I believe it's in the school or whatever it is, [I DO NOT OWN THIS GAME]) and look at the second character, enjoy! omfgyay!

I'll be making a mega guide for homebrew soon, so stay tuned!

For more information & download please visit: Indiana Pwns

Silly games

And as usual WiiBrew

Happy hacking.

Thanks again Team Twiizers :D

Ok guys I've had a small problem with Gecko OS on my wii. I had installed gecko for the ssbb textures, and at first it was all fine. I could play with the textures with no problems at all. About a month ago though I tried loading gecko OS to play ssbb but when I selected the gecko OS icon from the homebrew channel the gecko os screen came out but with a small problem, none of the options that should appear were on screen. It lookes like this but without the launch game, config options, reeboter option, about, exit gecko, Press B to laumch reeboter
http://dl.img.qj.net/uploads/files_m...ko_os_1.07.jpg.
In other words all I can see in my screen is a black and blue screen with a gecko on the bottom left corner.
I also have a similar problem with my "Legend of Gamma loader". Whenever I load a game with this loader another black screen comes out that says Gamma Loader on the top and another gecko on the bottom left corner. WTF is this? XD
Anyone knows what the problem is?

I hate to waste a whole thread on this, but I can't get an answer by browsing.

Going through the Ocarina Brawl Hacks thread started by Virustsunami, I found this video , and mentions of texture hacks and custom move sets. I just started hacking my Wii about 4 days ago. The only programs I have are Homebrew and Gecko OS for Wii Menu Version 4.0. I need to know:
Are there other programs I need to get the same result as this Pikachu in the vid?

What the hell is a .PAC file?

Those are my only questions at this time. If anyone could answer, please, help me.

Much obliged,
I can now support added graphics not included in the original stage

I can skew them rotate them with the rotation of the guitar (provided your using one), and make them fade move or rotate with the streak count or rock meter

they can be behind or front of anything, except the graphics listed that are NOT stage specific are always in front

i can improvise new rock meters and streak counters/mulitpliers, and holding down certain buttons or strumming can trigger events as well.

animations are still difficult and not being offered and producing any of the above takes time especially if difficulties arise

ill take it from there, and it should be ready in a day or two, at the very most 3, at least untill school starts, providing theres no waiting list
How to Install a Theme:

Inside Your Current Guitarsonfire folder in the root of your SD card, find the" gfx" folder and copy it into a folder in your documents titled "GOF themes" or something else for later use.

copy the files in the "{insert theme title here} gfx" folder from the theme pack into the "gfx" folder in your SD card, you should be prompted whether or not you want to replace the files, choose yes to replace them.

copy the"{insert theme title here} - gfx" folder from the theme pack into the GOF Themes folder you made earlier also for later use

place the "GOF - {insert them title here}" folder into the "stages" folder on your SD card

The menu cursor, rock meter, multiplier bar, loading bar, strike effect, strike area, and fretboard are in the gfx folder and are NOT stage specific, to change these simply replace the files in the gfx folder with the originals or ones from another theme you have downloaded

Everthing else is contained in the stage folder and are selected from the stage screen by picking the one with the designated icon

Version 1.0 will support stage specific graphics for all elements and swapping the gfx folders every time wont be nescessary after the release

Okay I realize that not an overwhelming majority of NP users own guitar hero or rock band, and even less own one AND have homebrew but i thought i should bring attention to this.

DOWNLOAD

(the one not in an apps folder goes in your root)

How to Install:

the download contains two folders

copy the the contents of the one called apps into your SD card's apps folder, altering anything in here is not nescessary to get songs or themes or anything

the other folder is just called Guitars on Fire, it contains songs, sound effects, some files to run them and all the graphics, it goes right in the root of the SD card (aka not in any other folder)

the folder called songs holds your songs, the two links i gave you are great places to find songs, each song gets its own folder with all the music files notecharts and text files inside, each downloaded song comes with some or all of these, but the extra files are optional

installing themes is explained in my shop

to play the game you need a USB keyboard, or Guitar controller that uses the wiimote as a power source, USB guitars arent supported yet. you can play with the classic and GC but thats not exactly the way it was meant to be played.

To run it just put your SD card in open the homebrew channel click the GoF icon and press load, then just play it like any guitar game

Its basically a free version of those games but free to download, with pages and pages of free downloadable songs. It works with any guitar song from fretsonfire.

Frets On Fire Wiki: Custom Songs

Frets On Fire Fan Forum • View forum - Tune Posting

All the songs are stored conveniently in you SD card, and take up little space.

On top of that the game works with practically every control scheme including the guitar, the classic controller, the gamecube controller or even a USB keyboard, supporting up to 5 people if one uses a keyboard.

Please however be aware the the quality of a song and its note chart is subject to who made it not the game itself. The actual game is perfectly on time with no lag.

Well hope some of you find this as fun as I did, and even if you stink at it theres plenty of easier songs to download from classic zelda themes to more hard core songs that you'd be lucky to finish.

heres a video of the game on the main stage or "venue"

I'm already designing themes for it and am taking requests, get your own custom made theme here

				Yay, finally another release!

Version 0.2 of our installer (the BootMii beta2 release) is almost 3 month old, and we finally got around to push out some fixes.

We hoped to have some nice additions for HBC done for this release, but unfortunately those are not yet ready for prime time. We didn’t want to delay some fixes to the installer and BootMii any further, so we hope you enjoy this one – even if HBC remains unchanged compared to BootMii beta 2.

HackMii installer (v0.3):

Saner selection of IOSs for the installer itself and the installed HBC
BootMii will now install on Wiis with bad blocks in the boot2 area
Fixed some hangs when rebooting Starlet
BootMii beta 3 (v1.0):

Improved the SD card compability
Increased the backup/restore speed for some SD cards, but decreased it for others
Fix GPIO input for all Wiis
Wavebird support
Fixed a silly bug where NAND backups were left as 0 byte files
Keys are now saved to SD as /bootmii/keys.bin too
Grab the new installer here.

As always: Please link to this post instead of mirroring the binary, thanks and stay tuned.

Enjoy.

DISCLAIMER

I do not take responsibility for any damage you do to your Wii using this method. So PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A NAND BACKUP for use with BootMii incase anything bad happens. You can then undo the damage that is done and leave everything the way it is.

NOTE: You need to be on version 3.2, 4.0 or 4.1 to use this, if you attempt this on any other firmware, you will brick your Wii and have to use your NAND Backup to restore.

Requirements
1. Bootmii installed as Boot2
2. HBC
3. NUSDownloader
4. Any mym file (Can be located here)
5. MyMenuify **Homebrew application**
6. My Menu
7. Wad Packer/Unpacker
8. Microsoft Forms 2.01 (Google it)
9. Latest .NET Framwork (Google it)

This is fairly simple process, and should be completed in a matter of minutes.

First off, we're going to want to have a nice NAND Backup if anything goes wrong, this is where BootMii comes in. Boot the Wii and head into the bootmii menu. Head into the settings menu (The Gear image) and press on the image with the green arrow. I would recommend having a fresh formatted SD card for this step, although it is not required. Follow the onscreen instructions, and just wait for it to finish. It is normal to have up to 100 bad blocks, so don't worry about those as you're making the backup.

Once you've done that, put MyMenuify on your SD card in the apps folder. On the root of the SD card, create a folder called "Themes"

Open NUSD on your computer. In the first box, type in 0000000100000002.

In the second box, input:
288 if you have 3.2 NTSC-J
289 if you have 3.2 NTSC-U
290 if you have 3.2 PAL
416 if you have 4.0 NTSC-J
417 if you have 4.0 NTSC-U
418 if you have 4.0 PAL
449 if you have 4.1 NTSC-U

Make sure you check off Pack -> WAD before you begin the download.

Once the download is complete there should be a folder 0000000100000002vXXX. Open it and you should see a WAD file. Place the wad in the same folder as your WADUnpacker.bat, rename it to in.wad and run the .bat file. Follow the instructions to unpack the WAD.

Once unpacked, remove the 0000001.app file and move it onto your desktop. Here is where you need an mym file. Go to: Mym Repository - WADder Wiki and download any theme you wish, 4.0 themes work for 4.1 as well. Download anyone you want, as long as it's compatible with your firmware.

Install MyMenu. Browse for your source file, the source file is 0000001.app. After that's selected browse for your mym file. Once selected, click "Create MyMenu!". Save the csm file in the "Themes" folder on the root of your SD card. And insert the SD card in your Wii.

Launch MyMenuify, browse your SD card and find the theme file you've just created. Install it, and reboot.

Congrats, you've installed a Custom System Menu theme. Simply reboot and admire how great of a job you did.

If all went wrong and your Wii Menu does not load, do not be afraid, restore your NAND through BootMii and everything well revert back to normal, and you can try again if need be.

Please, post any questions you may have.

Okay so I don't have it yet but I would like to ask how you get it. I don't know if it is true or not that Hombrew is illeigal so when you try to turn your wii in for fixing they won't do it because of homebrew on it. So let me make that more clear.

My questions are.

Is Homebrew illegal or not?
Will it make your wii crash?
Can you bring it in to Nintendo for fixing if you have it?

So that are my three questions that I have. If someone or some poeple could answer those questions and tell me how to get homebrew then I may give it a wiz and try to get it.

For those of you who would like to venture into the world of hacking your wii, I've got the right program for you!

It's called Bannerbomb, it's far less likely to brick your Wii, I'm not even sure if it can..!

It's also more convenient than the Twilight hack because the only thing you need, is a 1-2 gig SD card (I used Powersaves)

Here's a very helpful vid, that explains how to install and use Bannerbomb.

If you have any questions about downloading bannerbomb, don't hesitate to ask me! Leave me a PM or a Profile comment.

Happy Hacking!

Today we will learn about jailbreaking your ipod or iphone. I know this isn't the jailbreaking section, but it's basically homebrew for your iPod or iPhone.

Jailbreaking is not illegal whatsoever. The only illegal part is if you try to get free apps.

First, find which firmware you're running. If you go into iTunes with your device plugged in and select it from the sidebar, it will tell you. (ex. 2.2.1, 3.0, 2.2)

This guide will basically tell you how to jailbreak all devices on 3.0 firmware.

*Note: (redsn0w 0.8 will only work with iPhone 3.0, iPhone 3G 3.0, iPhone 3GS 3.0, iPod Touch 3.0, and iPod Touch 2G 3.0.) By 3.0 I mean the 3.0 firmware.

There are two ways to do this, called purplera1n and redsn0w. purplera1n was created by geohotz (ex-dev team member) and redsn0w was created by the dev team. They both use 24kpwn and use the same holes, but people have found purplera1n RC2 to be much less buggy. (They are both for Mac OSX and PC) Purplera1n is also 3GS only, please know that.

purplera1n (iPhone 3GS ONLY, not iPhone 3G or any other device on 3.0

First, download purplera1n at purplera1n by selecting the apple logo (Mac) or Windows logo. Then, once it is done, connect your device normally if it wasn't already. Once it is, make sure you have the latest iTunes (8.2) and an iPhone 3GS with 3.0 firmware installed. Then, open up purplera1n and click "make it ra1n." (If it doesn't work well on vista, right click purplera1n, go to properties, compatibility (I believe) and select the XP compatibility mode. Then your device should show a picture of geohotz holding an iphone. Once it's done, your device will go back to normal. Reboot your device, and an app called Freeze (white icon) should be installed. Go into freeze, and tap "install cydia." (It is best if you have a wifi connection) Once it's done, go back to the springboard (homepage) and cydia should be installed if all went well. If not, try rebooting. Congrats, you just jailbroke your 3GS with purplera1n.

redsn0w

(redsn0w 0.8 will only work with iPhone 3.0, iPhone 3G 3.0, iPhone 3GS 3.0, iPod Touch 3.0, and iPod Touch 2G 3.0.) By 3.0 I mean the 3.0 firmware.

Go to iphonedev - TPB and download redsn0w 0.8 (or later) for your OS. Select your device's firmware ipsw from here and MAKE SURE you download the firmware that matches the current one on your device. Click browse in redsn0w, and select the firmware you downloaded. If you get "IPSW successfully identified," you're doing good. When it asks you if you'd like to install Cydia or Icy, install Cydia ONLY. Bad things happen if you install both together, and cydia is more important. Redsn0w will ask you if your device is TURNED OFF and PLUGGED IN.

redsn0w will tell you to put your device in DFU mode, to do this there are only three simple steps from QuickPwn.

1. Hold down the Power button for 3 seconds
2. Without releasing the Power button, also hold down the Home (bottom center button) for 10 seconds
3. Without releasing the Home button, release the Power button BUT KEEP holding the Home button for 30 seconds

If this is not done correctly, redsn0w will give you a "DFU mode failed" message, and you'll have to restart from step 1. (thanks quickpwn.)

If DFU mode has been done successfully, you'll get this message. "Please wait while your device is being jailbroken. Waiting for reboot." Once your device is rebooted you should see a logo of a pineapple running and it will start uploading the RAMdisk and kernel. (QuickPwn)

Once everything is done, redsn0w should have a message saying "done!" Your device will reboot and you will have Cydia.

2.2.1 2nd Generation iPod Touch

Once you download simply launch the program, connect your iPod and follow the on screen instructions :)

---------------------------------

I might include previous firmware jailbreaks later, it depends. If you have any issues/questions please PM me or post in this guide.

If you upgrade your firmware version at any time with iTunes, you will lose your jailbreak data and Cydia, and firmware 3.1 (when it comes out) might be unjailbreakable.

Welcome to NintendoPals' official homebrew forum. Now homebrew is a touchy subject, so we're going to go over some ground rules.

1. Nothing illegal. This goes without saying, and is pretty obvious.
2. No ROMs, ISOs, WADs, etc.
3. No Backup Launchers (USB Loaders included)
4. Anything else we deem inappropriate.

NintendoPals in no way supports piracy. If you post links, you will be banned first time, no exceptions.

Have fun, and please don't abuse this forum. We made it so you guys could discuss homebrew not illegal games.

Okay so I am guessing a lot of people may want to get their wii's hacked with the new brawl version approaching very soon. I am gonna be nice and give you a video/some of my own annotations on how to get yourself started.

YOU WILL NEED: SD Card, SD card reader, a copy of brawl, a computer, and a Wii!

PHASE ONE: Installing the Homebrew Channel

Before you begin, I NOR THE GUY IN THIS VIDEO ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR WII! DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!@)*$#&%^(#$&

Okay follow this guy step by step and use the tools in the description of the video as he tells you. Its really simple. Now in this video, I dont believe that he actually talks about brawl hacking, but he does give a good crash course on using the Homebrew Channel and the DVDx (allows you to play DVD's and backup games on your Softmodded wii.

PHASE 2: USING GECKO OS AND THE CODE MANAGER

Okay in this step, I will actually help you myself.

Now that you have homebrew installed on your wii, you will need some apps that the guy in the video doesnt give you such as Gecko OS.
Here is the App for Gecko OS. Gecko OS 1.9.1

Alright, so unzip that folder and copy Gecko to the apps folder in your SD card. You now have the tool that actually applies the codes to brawl (woot!)

Now where do these codes come from? Look below ._.
Code Manager

Download and unzip the file.

Inside you should see three different folders, click on the one that says PC. Then you should see four different things, 3 folders and 1 program that has a nice and scary pirate skull (arrrrg!). Click the scary pirate. (It may just be a program symbol too, but it will still say codmgr) It should have a prompt that says something about extracting all the files or something, CLICK EXTRACT ALL! If you dont then you wont be able to find the brawl ID in this next step! Okay so after all the files are done. Open up Code Manager (should definitely have a scary pirate this time!) Then you will see a smexy format. Go up to file in the left top corner, and click it. Scroll down to OPN TEXT FILE IF you followed directions, then you will see 3 different folders labeled: ntsc-jp, ntsc-us, and pal-eu.
If your in Japan, click the one with jp. If you have a US version, click us, and Europe is pal-eu.

For japan Brawls, open up the jp folder and click the rsbj txt file.

For US brawls open up the us folder and click the rsbe txt file.

For European brawls open up the pal-eu folder and click the rsbp txt file.

When you open the txt file up, your code managers left side will flood with many codes and options. Note: A lot of those hacks are things you need to find on your own for the actual values and such. But for starters, I would suggest going down the left side and check the box that has "unrestricted pause camera". Now, I will be nice again and give you a code that allows texture hacks and music importing.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: There is an unconformed rumor that constant streaming of music from your SD card can actually decrease the cards life span! STREAM AT YOUR OWN RISK! (Personally, I think its bogus, but whatever.)

Okay, so with that there. How do you apply this code?

In code manager, scroll all the way down to the bottom on the left hand side, and click on "Add a code/comment/category".

When you do this, a prompt will appear asking for a name, it really doesnt matter what you name it. Now, a brand new category should be available at the VERY bottom on the left hand side. Click the new code (or whatever you named it..) and copy and pasta the code in the spoiler, to the big white box on the right side that has code contents right above it.

When your done, click "Store modifications". Okay so now the code should have a check box next to it. Check it and repeat the process until your done with your coding. When you are all finished, click "export to GCT". It will ask for a destinatation drive. Set it to the drive your SD is in and your all done!

Now you go to Homebrew Channel and click the Gecko app. Just Launch the game and bam, you have whatever hacks and cheats you wanted.
PHASE 3: TEXTURE HACKING

Okay so now you have all kinds of codes and junk, I am pretty sure you are wanting some texture hacks? Well that is done a little bit differently.

First you must find a texture hack, ill use an example for you.

Today we will be putting in my favorite texture hack into brawl: Flying Mario!

First go here
Download the pcs file to somewhere safe and we will use it later.

But first make a private directory in your SD (if its not there already) and follow all the folders i create in descending order. (left to right) These are ALL folders!

F:\private\wii\APP\RSBE\pf\Fighter\mario\put the FitMario06.pcs here!

Here is one good site to go to get started: Stacksmash When you find one, you need to name it Fit(Character Name)(costume that your replacing)

Kitty-Corp Gallery, plenty of good stuff here!
So for example, if I was applying a texture hack to replace fire mario, I would name it FitMario06. I will provide a link that gives character outfits here.

I need some help with the Wii's homebrew channel. I have installed it but I don't know how to add apps to it.
I have tried to put them into the SD card and nothing has shown up. I'm new to it of course so I'm probably going to need as much help as possible.
I have even gone here Wiibrew and to be honest, it didn't really help all that much, all it helped with was downloads.
So I need someone to help me out with this, maybe some advice or how to add apps or if I need more equipment to make homebrew channel work correctly.

PS. No one liners please.

Well, ShadowofChaos from the Ocarina Codes thread suggested I make a thread for requests about this. I'm kinda used to making Music Hacks at this point and am willing to take requests. These Brawl Music files are in .BRSTM format, and require you to use an Ocarina code by Phantom Wings, called "File Replacement 3.2a" which allows music hacking without a modified Brawl ISO.

The code is...

And the SD Card setup for the music files is...

"[Insert Drive Letter Here]:/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/Sound/strm/[Insert Music File Name Here]"

The Music File Name relates to the "code" of a song. The list of "codes" and what they are can be downloaded here.

Since the Brawl music files are in .BRSTM format, and .mp3 and .wav and other files won't work, you need to convert the song files that you want into .BRSTM format. Since that isn't exactly the easiest thing to do for the average person, (though it isn't rocket science either) I'm opening a request thread.

Just fill out this form and I'll convert the song into a .BRSTM file for you:

If you know it, what is the artist's name?
What is the song title?
Does it make an appearance in a video game?
If so, then what's the game's title?
Can you provide the .MP3 or .WAV or whatever?

A link to my BRSTM File Folder where you can find all of the files listed:

Dark's BRSTM File Folder

The tracklist that contains all the codenames for the songs (meaning you search for the song you want to replace and rename the .BRSTM file by the code next to the song name)

If you remeber, a few weeks ago my Wii was not working and the only option for me was to reset it to factroy setting. In the proccess I lost 3 very impornant games, Animal Crossing, SSB:B, and MKW. Now I don't want to recover all 3, but Brawl because I played that one the most and got the farthest. I had all characters, stages, CD's, lots of tropies and challegnes completed, and every single mode and extra feature unclocked. Is there any way I can copy data from the internet onto my SD-Card for me to put on my Wii?

If this is possible, and somebody would be kind enough to upload their data (If it's similar to mine, please don't give me EVERYTHING or basicly nothing.)

I'd just like to get my data back so I can start playing Wifi again. Thank you.

Yeah, Yeah, I know.. it's "Ocarina Codes" related... but since this is so awesome it deserves its own thread!!!

Here's a video of the concept in action with the SD card being used to replace music (.brstm files)

Note: Custom loop points MUST be divisible by 14336 samples...

***WARNING*** - There are rumors that constant streaming (more specifically, music streaming) through an SD Card can deteriorate the lifespan of an SD Card. Neither I or Phantom know whether this is true or not. Use the music replacement method at your own risk!
Welcome to the world of music hacking! I'm Professor Vy *shot*

Erhem. Glad to have you; it's always nice to see what other people will bring to the table. To that end, I'll provide you with everything you need to know in order to make your own custom brawling music. You're taking another big step towards making your personal, individual copy of Brawl.

-- Setting up Androu's tool (#setup)
Once you've downloaded the rar from the link provided in Needed Tools, make a new folder at the root of your hard drive (where Program Files and the like are). Give it a name with NO SPACES. Extract the brstm tool into this folder.

You will see a folder with the name "Copy the files in this folder to your SYSTEM folder." These files should go into C:WindowsSystem32.

-- A base brstm (#base)
The tool requires one brstm in the OriginalSongs folder in order to function. As far as I know, any brstm (and there are plenty available in this forum) will work, but for your convenience, here is one ripped directly from the Brawl disk: A01.brstm

Once you have this in the OriginalSongs folder, you are ready to make your own music.

Do these steps to get HBC and cIOS249 on your Wii Once you have these the Wii is pretty much your oyster, and you can downgrade, use USB loaders, Preloader etc

Make sure WiiConnect24 is off as it can interfere with the bannerbomb hack

DO NOT TRY THIS ON AN LU64/65 MODEL

Serial location: Click here

1: Download this rar and unpack it onto root of an SD card.

2: Put the SD card in wii, go to Wii Options, than go to Data Management > channels > SD Card then you will get a message saying "Load /boot.dol?" select 'Yes' and CMDVDX34 will run, then pick "Downgrade IOS35", ignore the other 2 options and let it finish its job.

If you get Exception (DSI) has occurred, turn the wii off, go to the system menu, install the update from a game like Brawl or Mario Kart, and try again. I had to try probably a good 10 times.

3. Restart your Wii, take out the , delete the boot.dol from the root and rename 'boot2.dol' to 'boot.dol'.

4. Put the SD card in wii, go to Wii Options, then go to > channels > SD Card then you will get a message saying "Load /boot.dol?" select 'Yes' and Wad Manager 1.4 will run, use this to install IOS35-64-v1040.wad, If it doesn't work, don't worry it is already installed.

5. Restart your wii and run wad manager 1.4 again using same method as step 4 except this time select IOS35 as the one it should use and install cIOS249 rev9.wad and HBC 1.0.1.wad.

6. Done! You now have HBC and cIOS249 so most of your HB should work. If you plan on staying on 4, format your sd card, download this rar and follow instructions in the readme, if you want to downgrade follow this guide and start at 2c.

Now go read and search!!!

If you fancy the USB loader then read this
Shiki Nanaya
(Melty Blood: Act Cadenza)

Shiki is a fairly normal high school student most of the time. Due to his close brush with death, he is not overly concerned about dying, and instead seeks to cherish every moment of his life. However Shiki has an alternate personality due to the blood he inherited from his real family. The Nanaya clan was a family focused on destroying demons, and promoted their own special powers through inbreeding. This heritage manifests as an alternate personality known as Shiki Nanaya. The Nanaya side of Shiki is a highly trained killer. Smooth, confident, and highly dismissive of life, Nanaya is a very large contrast with how Shiki usually behaves.
Toon Trainer
(related to Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker)

The manifestation of Toon Link in the Pokemon universe. One day, while Link was out on his adventures, he met with a man wearing a mysterious mask, which had spikes at it's sides and huge eyes with a familiar design. The man rushed to Link and gave him the first hit, but he dodged and picked up his sword and thrust it forward, the attack seemed to strike him but it had no effect. Link was left with no choice but to run away. The man appeared in front of him out of nowhere and put Link unconscious. He couldn't move, all he heard was a weird chanting and a loud shriek, presuming it was the mans voice. Seconds later, the chanting stopped, Link awoke and the man was nowhere to be seen. All seemed well to Link, until he went to take a drink at a fountain. In the waters reflection, he saw another persons body instead of his own. Now, with the help of Valoo, Zephos and Jabun, he will be able to confront the mysterious man and get his body back.

Greetings, homebrewers!

As most of you know, the october 23rd update blcoked the use of WADs, MPlayer, installation of homebrew channel, etc.

Alas, I have a good news and a bad one.

Good: Team Twiizers released Homebrew Channel 9, you caan update it if you wait a few seconds in your already-installed HBC

Bad: You're gonna have to reinstall all of the programs that weren't made as DOLs, since the exploit which ELF files used got sealed.

Thats all I guess. Im updating ma system now xD
======================================

EDIT

Oh, adding onto this, a new hack has been made, so you can install IOSS51 WITHOUT fixing the exploits, which means you will still be able to homebrew while gaining access to the new shop channel.

Homebrew Channel IOSS Updater
simply run the single included DOL to install.

more on that here

Note: This guide goes through constant updating and editing as more information and hacks become available! Also I post and answer as best I can questions I think are worth showing the public for their own information!

  Thanks,
     Zarthius

FAQ and Introduction!

I have the Wii Homebrew Channel, and tons of stuff on it. It really is the only safe way to do the things one can do with it on the wii.

One can get emulators for N64, GBA, and many other systems for free! You can get movies/videos and MP3s on your wii, and also get tons of cheat codes for various games! In Brawl you can get infinite HRC timer, infinite stage builder parts/overlapping parts, infinite jumps, and multiple smash balls. (Just an example)

Q.) Do I need Twilight Princess to use this?
A.) You do need Twilight Princess to initiate the Homebrew channel via the Twilight Hack.

Q.) Can this break my Wii?
A.) It can't harm your Wii once installed. If you do NOT install it correctly it can harm your Wii.

Q.) Why isnt this working? I followed all the directions as you said but I had a problem with the codes, it said there werent any in! (Angry-Face)
A.) Ah alright, there is just a TAD bit of self researching to be done, but I'll post the link and give it to you as well. You get cheats from gecko USB which you can use on Ocarina (as you may or may not know, but it is stated in the guide). You must put your SD in your comp and download an application called cheat manager/codemanager. http://wiird.l0nk.org/ocarina.zip. In there youll find PC (with codemanager inside it). Get the codes from gecko USB as mentioned above, save them as a text file in the codemanager directory with their corresponding game name, such as the mario kart wii code list you could save as mario kart etc etc. Then check the codes which you wan't and export them to your SD card, put it in your wii, run HB->Ocarina with the game disc in, and bam there you go!

Q.) What the Deuce Is Linux? ?_?
A.) Linux (commonly pronounced IPA: /ˈlɪnəks/ in English; variants exist[1]) is a Unix-like computer operating system family which uses the Linux kernel. Linux is one of the most prominent examples of free software and open source development; typically all the underlying source code can be freely modified, used, and redistributed by anyone.

Q.) What EXACTLY is the Homebrew Channel o0?
A.) The Homebrew Channel is a homebrew application loader by Team Twiizers which allows users to load homebrew applications without having to run the Twilight Hack every time. Once installed, users can access the channel from the Wii Menu just like any other Wii channel. It can launch homebrew applications in dol or elf -- either from an SD card, or via TCP or USB Gecko using Wiiload. It is also capable of downloading online updates for itself.

---------------------Guide-------------------------

*Note-Scroll to bottom for "Easy Homebrew Installer"-Provides very little instruction but please check it out to see if it is any help before you get on with the real guide, I have not tested this method but please leave feedback on it!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Follow Directions EXACTLY, both written and video directions!!

A fantastic tutorial is within the following:

This is what you have to do from the very beginning: *Video at bottom*

The program to open the downloaded files is WinRAR, go on google and write " download winrar " to get it

PREPARE THE TWILIGHT HACK:
Go on your wii memory and copy your zelda twilight princess savegame inside a SD card and take it to your computer in a safe place, then delete it from your Wii memory.
Download Twilight hack: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Twilight_Hack

You have downloaded the twilight hack, inside the twilight hack there are 2 files:
README and private

When you open private you find: private - wii - title - rzde, rzdj, rzdp

Make your SD card like this:

SD card: private - wii - title - rzdp - data.bin ( twilight hack ) if you have an european zelda

SD card: private - wii - title - rzdj data.bin ( twilight hack ) if you have a japanese zelda

SD card: private - wii - title - rzde - data.bin ( twilight hack ) if you have an american zelda

then put the SD on your Wii

take your twilight hack ( wich is inside the sd card ) and copy it on your wii memory.

now that the twilight hack is on your wii take your SD card and put it on your computer, then delete everything inside it.

INSTALL THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL ON YOUR WII:

Download the homebrew channel: http://hbc.hackmii.com/dist/the_homeb...

You downloaded the Homebrew channel, inside it you find three files: a folder called wiiload, a file called boot.elf and readme

Copy the file boot.elf inside the empty SD card

Put the SD card with the boot.elf inside your Wii

Run Zelda Twilight princess game

Go talk with the guy near link's house

at this point if it says fail to boot .elf you must go Here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?rxrxhmvpnpf

download it, it's a SD formatter program that i uploaded
When i had that problem i used this and then the SD worked.
But if it won't work then you should try with another SD card

Now if it can load the boot.elf file, continue to press 1 on your wiimote to accept the questions

at the end you'll have the homebrew channel on your wii menu.
Bring back your SD card on your computer and delete everything inside it.

HOW TO USE GECKO OS:

Download Gecko OS: http://www.usbgecko.com/GOS16d.zip
inside the SD create a new folder called " apps " and put there the folder " geckoos " wich is in GeckoOS - HBC - geckoos

Put the SD on your Wii and run the homebrew channel
Choose Gecko OS and load it ( WARNING: While doing this you MUSTN'T have gamecube memory cards on your Wii )
Then, you know what to do, right? :D
There are many programs that can run with the Homebrew channel, like emulators, media players etc etc etc

After installing the homebrew channel, install ocarina for super cheats!

DOWNLOAD NEW CODES: http://www.usbgecko.com/codes/

HOW TO USE OCARINA:

Download Ocarina: http://wiird.l0nk.org/ocarina.zip

You downloaded Ocarina, inside it you can find: pc, hbc

Take your sd card ( that must be empty ) and create a new folder called " apps " inside it.

Now open the hbc folder and copy the folder ocarina inside the apps folder you just created.

Now if you want to activate the codes you must open the program called" codemgr " wich is inside the folder called " pc "

Click on File and then on OPEN TXT FILE

Now you have to choose the game you want to use, you can download the codes you want by clicking on the first link in the video description where it says DOWNLOAD NEW CODES, before the game name there's the region ( JP for japanese wii, US for american wii, EU for european wii ) for example " US - Wii sports " etc.

In the video i used Super smash bros Brawl codes, and Super smash bros Brawl is the file " rsbp " in the European folder ( if you have the american Brawl you must use the one with " US - game name - "

Now that you've activated the codes you wanted to use, click on EXPORT TO GCT

Choose your SD card where it says " Drive letter " and then click on " store "

Now inside your SD card, near the " apps " folder that you created before using the codes you can see the " codes " folder

Put the SD on your Wii and run The Homebrew channel, then the Ocarina program ( notice: while doing this you MUSTN'T have got gamecube memory cards on your wii )

Put Super smash bros Brawl in your Wii and then press A on your wiimote, after that... enjoy the fun.

If you want to delete the codes or change them, delete the codes folder from the SD card and then star again with the program codemgr

All Codes can be found here !!!

http://www.usbgecko.com/codes/

Homebrew Browser!

The Homebrew Browser allows you to download the latest homebrew applications and games all through your Wii. You don't need to take your SD card out. You don't even need a computer! You can also delete homebrew you no longer want.

Homebrew Browser

Simply download it and place it on your SD card, run Homebrew Channel and there you go!

I own a Datel Games 'n' Music for the Nintendo DS. I have no clue on what i'm supposed to do with it.

I tried to download a game from a home brew internet site. The game was a version of Super Smash Bros. Rumbel. I downloaded it and transfered the file to my Games 'n' Music successfully, but it didn't play.

I think it has something to do with how I handel these files. I can succesfully transfer music and videos to my Games 'n' Music. Why can't I get homebrew games from the internet?

Can anyone help me out?
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Please post here or PM me.
Thanks.

I know there are at least a few of you out there that use these and I'm trying to get an idea of how popular they are amongst us here and whether anyone is into DS homebrew?

Anybody? What are your thoughts?

If you've no idea what I'm talking about check out www.ndshb.com or nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk for all the homebrew info you could need.

If you're completely oblivious to this then as far as you know your DS plays DS games and that's it! Homebrew means software that's made (brewed) at home, by ordinary people not involved with Nintendo. With homebrew you can get your DS to do more than just play DS games, you can get it to do a whole lot more than that.

There are three ways of running homebrew on your DS;
The first would be using the 'WiFiMe' option. WiFiMe requires the firmware of the DS to be patched then you download the homebrew software from a pc or laptop to the DS using the download play option. This method isn't all that popular as you can't store your homebrew and take it with you other than on a laptop.

The second, and more favoured option is by using a special game cartridge that goes into Slot-1 of the DS which has all of your homebrew on it ready to boot straight away. Nothing else needed for this method.

The third option which is favoured by some is to use Slot-2 devices (gba carts). These still require a cartridge in Slot-1 to pass the encryption and code checking of the DS but the homebrew is stored within the Slot-2 device.

With one of these methods you can still play your DS games but can run homebrew applications and games aswell as load basic imitation versions of Windows, a linux distro or even MacOS, you can view your pictures/slideshows, play music or videos, surf the internet, chat on irc/msn/aol/icq etc anything you can imagine you can do on your DS with homebrew.

Edit:

I want to put my saves and my friend's saves on my comp and open the Tiger Woods 08 saves and add my character into his save from my system and his to mine. Is this possible? The saves are in .bin format. Before you go telling me to use UltraISO or MagicISO or WinRAR, I have tried. None will open the file. I believe it could be due to the lack of a .cue file.
Also, I know how to transfer a save from one Wii to another, the problem is if we both play the game at our own houses and wanna play together using our built up characters without each haveing to create our own on each others' systems and leveling up 2 characters per person per system.
Any ideas?

One Wiimote with a Mii in it
Mii transfer program (download here)

What to do:

Download the 'Mii Transfer Program' & Extract it
Place a Mii on your Wiimote.
Hook your Wiimote with bluetooth, by doing a search and pressing '1' & '2' on the wiimote keep them held in for the whole process just incase
Open the Folder and Simply run the 'readslotALL' file this reads all the Miis from your Wiimote.
There should be a Mii file in that folder, there you go! you can upload it here: http://www.wiimodwii.com/miis/

To download a Mii from the internet:

Go here: http://www.wiimodwii.com/miis/
You will need to manually rename each mii to mii0.mii, mii1.mii, etc and put them in the same directory as your batch files.
Then disconnect your wiimote from Bluetooth
Finally go into the Mii channel, hit the icon of the wii-mote on the right, and unload all of your new Mii's into your Mii Space.

Section 3: Scripts

To get GlovePIE to work you need to use 'Scripts' these are basically Files which contain Code
for GlovePIE

Here is some scripts which you'll be intrested in:

WiiMouse Accel:

This comes with GlovePIE, it lets you controle windows with your wiimote. Left click, click click
middle button click, LEDs glow, rumble if your mouse pointer goes ot the side.

Wiitar!:

Lets you play the Guitar with your wiimote, you'll be two wiimotes for this but
it looks totally sweet.Sound effects included

Wii Saber:

Turn your Wiimote into a Light Saber, this is what the wiimote was made to do.
Rumbles, sound effects.

Wii Drums:

Also comes with GlovePIE, lets you play the drums with two remotes, sound effects included.

Cylon:

Again included in GlovePIE. This messes with your Blue LED lights and creates a little light show.
Easy to program your own

Section 4: Links:

Liquidice's Nintendo Wii hacks

'Liquidice' is the person who actully made the wiimote hacking scene happen, you might
as well visit his website. Daily updates on the process of Wiimote hacking and some How To's.

WiiLi.org

Over at WiiLi is a wikipedia, these peopel are trying to get Linux running on the Wii. In the process
they also update the News secion with the latest wiimote hacking. A good read.

Wii Script

Just opened Yesturday (me thinks) it is a database full of Scripts for GlovePIE. This is THE place to download good scripts. Also get Mii downloads next year from there. Sure its only got some (4) but its working towards a good future.

NOTE: i wrote this guide a while back so the section where the scripts are could be updated with better ones but i cant be bothered
