Even though I've sort of thought of the anything & everything section to be a melting pot of all the people I normally wouldn't be talking to, I suppose everyone looks here every so often, and this is the only place I really could be posting this.

Originally had this as a thread in the VIP section (just a very tiny tidbit of what you may be missing!! :o) But I'm migrating over here. That's just how it is, yo.

So anyways, this thread is to showcase my 8-bit works in a program called FamiTracker. It's a program that replicates fully 8-bit music. You can go to FamiTracker if you want to try it out, even though it is initially a confusing program to work with.

Anyway, here are examples of my projects, on YouTube. These all span from when I first started using FamiTracker to now. I will be posting videos as I make them.

why do so many poeple make new game machines that arnt really as high tech as the top 3 systems wii 360 and ps3 but they almost have the same struture as those systems one day i was in the mall and i saw this thing and it looked like a wii from a distance so i went closer and all it was is a crapy game system with like 10 games built in but it sucked you know those 16 bit games or whatever whats worst is that they conrollers were like wii mote then i lauged and told these guys i cant believe you got suckered into selling this cheap device then i left 8D

well thats the only thing ive seen post a comment if youve seen a x -box clone or ps clones

plus theres that radio that looks like an ipod which was funny as well

The Theory of Everything

I felt that with a new update and design that I must also come up with a new thread for physics. I've discussed many things concerning the sciences before, and I enjoy doing it for the general members that like to read and update their own information of the matter. I'll try to elaborate subject material to make it as digestive as possible. (Perhaps more people will stop and comment; who knows? lol)

Well then, as the title states, I'd like to discuss the Theory of Everything. This is known in the scientific world as the Unified Field Theory, which will in effect, explain everything there is that needs to be explained in physics, why things are the way they are and increase our understanding of life in general. For those of you who know, Albert Einstein is credited with trying to bring together a unified theory, at the time, combating with physicists like Niels Bohr, Erwin Shrodinger, and Heisenberg who proposed new and radical ideas on top of the new field of Quantum Mechanics. In a quote expressed by Einstein, "God doesn't roll dice". Einstein spent his waning years at Princeton attempting a solution to conglomerate everything together, however; at the time of his death he had yet to complete his greatest feat.

We must not push aside what Einstein gave us along with other scientists spent their life trying to hone. The work that Einstein did was simply incomplete and needed to be fleshed out and worked even more. The observer may ask the question, "What are they trying to unify?". The answer is simple and complex at the same time. There are four forces in the universe that bind things together and keep the universe in balance. These four forces fundamental to physics.

Strong Nuclear Interaction: When you get down to the subatomic level, we can break down the proton and neutron into smaller parts called quarks. This proposed Strong Nuclear Force is what holds together these quarks so that protons and neutrons can form nuclei and thereunto atoms, the effective building blocks of all life and all non-life.

Electromagnetic: Believe it or not, electricity and magnetism where thought as completely different phenomena from all of physics at one point. James Clark Maxwell, linked the ideas of electricity and magnetism together in some of the most brilliant work a scientist has done in the past hundreds of years. He brought both together into a working field of equations that can express magnets that give rise to electricity and electricity that gives rise to magnetism. The interactions between molecules, atoms, and everything is governed from the repulsion and attraction that this force invokes.

Weak Nuclear Interaction: This is the nuclear interaction somewhat opposite of the strong nuclear reaction. It is believed that this force is what brings on some forms of radioactivity. It is a repulsive and short range force that acts on different particles in the atom like quarks, electrons, and neutrinos. It's better to think of it as the Weak Nuclear Force wants to break apart the atom, as the Strong Nuclear Force holds it together. The Strong Nuclear Force, is much stronger than a Weak Nuclear Force so the atoms, for the most part stay together. When atoms get to large, they may decay and it brings up this force.

Gravitational Force: Gravity is a very funny thing. Out of all of these forces, gravity was the first one that was fully elaborated on and equated for. Though it is the earliest, it is the last one that is fully unexplainable by scientists. Scientists have even resorted to using imaginary particles called gravitons to support their theory behind this. We know that all bodies of matter attract a force between them. As you may be reading behind a computer screen, you and I have gravitational force between each other, you and Jupiter have gravitational force between each other, and even your computer and you have gravitational force between each other. It is just so negligible that, in the end, the force is too small to take into account. We know that the distance between objects and the mass of the objects are what make gravity work, however, we still don't know what gravity specifically is.

So there are the four forces. Please ask questions in the thread if you need more explanation behind them and I'll be glad to explain. As said in the Electromagnetism portion above, James Clark Maxwell was actually the first to form the unified theory, without even knowing it. When he combined electricity and magnetism together, he was combining two different forces that people thought were separate. He brought five terms of forces down to four. The work that Albert Einstein was doing was trying to bring that down even further.

Einstein's theories of spacetime, derived from the thoughts of Maxwell furthered the field of understanding, yet there were still more forces to take into account. Einstein could explain the big stuff in the universe like spacetime, and Newton could explain the smaller stuff on the scale of humans and motion, and Quantum Mechanics was explaining the sub atomic stuff. So it should have been a relatively simple task to find a way to combine. The answer is that it wasn't so simple at all. The three schools of thoughts contradicted one another and the unified theory of everything was going nowhere.

There has been modern progress, however that would suggest a linkage of Strong Nuclear and Weak Nuclear to the ideas of Electromagnetism since they seem so similar. If you've read about the Large Hadron Collider, then you know that scientists are smashing atoms together to find these particles that prove their theory and they're on the right track. Several scientists have won Nobel Prizes in the field when they have developed the theory behind these particles and come together with an electroweak theory which would seem to express a linkage between the aforementioned electromagnetism and weak nuclear force.

The problem still looms however. While it looks like scientists may find linkages between three of the four forces, Gravity still remains as the unexplainable truth. Theoretical particles like gravitons are thrown in to explain it along with String Theory and other theoretical schools of thought. This may have been what stopped Einstein into breaking his final frontier. Will things ever be explained the way scientists want them to or will they forever be left in the dark? The optimist would say that it will come some day, the pessimist would say that it never will, and the scientists say "Well, we're working on it."

First iPhone Worm Spreads Through Australia

Australian iPhone users have this weekend been on the receiving end of the first in-the-wild virus for Apple's cult mobile phone. The iPhone virus, called "Ikee", changes the phone's background picture to 1980s singer Rick Astley, and then goes looking for other iPhones on the network to infect.
A message contained in the photograph of Rick Astley says: "ikee is never going to give you up".

The Ikee worm spreads using SSH on jailbroken iPhones. The SSH software isn't installed by default by Apple, so merely jailbreaking your iPhone doesn't make you vulnerable. But if you do install SSH, without changing Apple's default root password ("alpine"), you are woefully insecure.
Early indications are that the Ikee virus was written by a 21-year-old from Wollongong in New South Wales who has recently tweeted that he's "kinda...worried about legal implications."
"If he did write and set loose this virus on the network, he probably ought to be worried, since breaking into other people's computers isn't acceptable - even if they have chosen (or, in this case, Apple has chosen on their behalf) an effectively useless password," says Paul Ducklin, Sophos's Head of Technology, Asia Pacific.
Fortunately, the Ikee virus is not explicitly destructive, and - unlike the vast majority of modern malware - doesn't seem to have been written as a vehicle for ongoing cybercriminality. Indeed,it seems that, after infecting your iPhone, the virus turns SSH off, thus protecting the device against further attacks of this sort.
Infection seems to be confined to Australia at the moment, though there are unconfirmed reports of Ikee in Thailand and Japan.
This in unsurprising, since the latest variant of the worm greatly favours attacking Australian mobile phone networks. It targets phones throughout several large IP ranges apparently belonging to Vodafone Australia, Optus and Telstra, attacking just one randomly-generated IP address outside these ranges every time it spreads. Since the source code of Ikee is available, however, this could easily change in future variants.
Note also that a Dutch hacker recently used the same approach - logging in to jailbroken phones via the known SSH password - to inject a message asking for 5 Euros to tell you how to secure your iPhone against further attacks.
"If you have a jailbroken iPhone, change your SSH passwords now," urges Ducklin. "If you don't have a jailbroken iPhone, you probably also ought to change those passwords, since it makes no sense to have poor passwords pre-configured for any operating system service, whether it runs by default or not. Ironically, it seems that Apple don't want you to do that - just the sort of operational restriction which led to jailbreaking in the first place."

I had a good laugh when I read about this. Out of all the things to do to your phone, this person chooses to change your wallpaper to Rick Astley, and inform you about password security :hehe:
At least it was for a good cause.

To Write Love on her Arms was started not too long ago (maybe a 2 years ago) and it's an American non-profitable organization where they bring hope to people who face problems like depression, self injury, drug addiction, and suicide. TWLOHA helps people seek treatment and help on these type of things.

Today, anyone who cares let others write "Love" on their arms to show that they care and to encourage people to to have honest conversations about these issues, to live in community, and to seek help for these treatable conditions.

At first glance Lauren Johnson is your typical 12-year-old. She loves animals, especially her dog, Bo, but sit with Lauren for more than two seconds and you quickly learn she's unique.

"I can't stop sneezing. It goes off about eight to nine times a minute," says Lauren sneezing twice in seven seconds.

On a regular day the 6th grader can sneeze more than 12,000 times. It all started roughly two weeks ago when Lauren caught a cold.

"It was different and I just kind of went with it thinking that it wouldn't last this long, but it's been two weeks now and it just hasn't stopped," said Lauren sneezing six times in the 17 seconds it took for her to say that.

"I know she's miserable. I know this is terrible for her," said Lauren's mother Lynn.

Lynn Johnson's heart breaks every time she hears her daughter sneeze, because after visiting six different doctors and taking 11 different medications, the diagnosis is the same.

"Everybody's baffled."

The Johnsons even took Lauren to visit Hope Damon in Virginia Beach, who specializes is psychotherapy and hypnosis.

"My place is just to help destress the family and guide them through the medical and mental health parts of this," said Damon.

Tuesday morning Lynn took Lauren to a Neurologist who told them he believes Lauren could suffer from an "irretractable psychogenic disorder." Lynn says they were told it could be triggered by stress, kind of like the brain "misfiring signals."

However, Lynn says Lauren has been sent to psychotherapists like Damon who, "send us back to the medical practitioners because they say Lauren is a well rounded girl. There's been no stressors in her life. There's been nothing, she's not an attention getter."

If Lauren does have an irretractable psychogenic disorder, her family is a bit concerned.

"There's less than 40 cases ever documented ever in the entire world. Nobody really knows how to treat it, what's going to work, and even in the cases where it might have worked or turned the sneezing off for awhile, a lot of times it comes back again and then you're right back to where you started," says Lynn.

As for Lauren, she wants to get back to school. Her constant sneezing forced her family to keep her home for the past two weeks.

"I've had to have homework sent here and I've started having teachers sent here to help me with it," said Lauren.

There is only one time a day that Lauren doesn't sneeze.

"It turns off when she sleeps. Only in a deep REM sleep it turns off," said Lynn.

The most amazing thing is that Lauren learned to adapt. She says sometimes she has no clue she's even sneezing, but still, all she wants is to be a normal 12-year-old again.

"I just wish the sneezing would stop. I mean I feel fine now, but it's just the sneezing going on, and on, and on, and I can't really do anything," said Lauren sneezing 5 times in 15 seconds.

Well recently i was turned down. By turned down i mean my thread was closed because it was deemed stupid. Now i know we need to keep our space open. you know for the websites and what not. But this got me thinking if the threads aren't there for you to ask questions, interact with other members, get opinions, and just have fun seeing what crazy things people post next,if its not there for that then what are they there for.

So i hope this is easier to follow and makes sense. My question to people is what do you think threads are for. Like is it there to ask questions or give there opinions. Or ask those question that some might find stupid and others might find worthy. Is a thread there for people to gather opinions and debate on what your side of the story is.

BCC Explained.

Some of you may have noticed while private messaging someone that there is the option of "BCC" under "Recipient User names". Clicking BCC will open a new tab similar to the Recipient User name tab called "BCC Recipient User names".

A BCC, or Blind Carbon Copy, is a copy of an email message sent to a recipient whose email address does not appear in the message.

This is in contrast to "To" recipients, whose addresses do appear in the respective header lines. Every recipient of the message can see all the To, but does not know about BCC recipients.

So, say I decided to send Bob the message, but I didn't want Joe to know. I'd add Bob onto the BCC list, while adding Joe onto the To list, so that Joe wouldn't know that I sent the message to Bob as well.

It's pretty sneaky. I suppose that's why it's called a "Blind" Carbon Copy. :!:

BCS Bowl Predictions

Well, the initial BCS standings come out on the 18th, so just wondering who you guys think will be in each BCS Bowl Game. Here's what I think:

BCS National Title Game: USC vs Alabama

Rose Bowl: Oregon vs Ohio St

Sugar Bowl: Florida vs Cincinnati

Orange Bowl: Virginia Tech vs Boise St

Fiesta Bowl: Texas vs Miami (FL)

Believe me, I know USC is kind of a long shot for the NC game, but right now, they sit at 6th in the polls. Either Alabama or Florida is going to take a loss at one point (probably not till the SEC Championship game) so USC should jump them at that point (USC's schedule is tougher than both Bama's and Florida's....yes, it's true, USC's SOS is 13, Bama 24, Florida 49).
Also, I see Texas losing to OU this week, and their schedule is way to weak to jump back in the title hunt. A 1-loss USC will jump a 12-0 Boise St due to the fact that USC's schedule is astronomically tougher than Boise St.'s (USC's schedule includes 4 road games against ranked teams) Granted the loss to UW was bad, but UW is a couple of wins away from bowl eligibility. So if USC wins out, and a few things fall into place, I think they have a shot to get back in the Title game.

But, these are just my predictions, and probably way too much analysis, but tell me what you guys think.

In his 1895 will, Alfred Nobel stipulated that the peace prize should go "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses."

Unlike the other Nobel Prizes, which are awarded by Swedish institutions, he said the peace prize should be given out by a five-member committee elected by the Norwegian Parliament. Sweden and Norway were united under the same crown at the time of Nobel's death.

The committee has taken a wide interpretation of Nobel's guidelines, expanding the prize beyond peace mediation to include efforts to combat poverty, disease and climate change.

The short stopover was "too business-like," Holm said. "It can be that some IOC members see it as a lack of respect."

He told the IOC earlier Friday that the "full force of the White House" would be applied so "visitors from all around the world feel welcome and will come away with a sense of the incredible diversity of the American people."

Madrid would have been the second Spanish city to host the Olympics, after Barcelona in 1992. Europe is also hosting the 2012 Summer Games in London.

I also know how it feels to lose a dog, like I never got to have hope like she did, I just found my dog laying outside in the snow (Same breed by the way.) dead, at first I thought he was just really cold and weak but then I seen some blood on the back of his neck, he was shot by a kid around 11 years old that lived near our block.
The dog was 12 years old and it was like losing a member of the family..

Well sorry to disparage any of you who thought the title was resemblance of a new game coming out. No and sorry =D; maybe next time? Anyway I decided to continue my exploration of physics and its new boundaries and maybe boundaries already crossed and need to be cropped up again.

For this round I'm going to tackle the issue of time. Time in real life, time in physics, time in relativity, and time in theory.

Time is a fickle thing. We use it daily to track our progress, what we'll do, and perhaps even to find the present time. There are so many definitions and meanings of time that the human mind can barely comprehend it's own meaning or existence. A second, a minute, an hour, a day, a month, a year, a decade, a century; the list goes on and on. People divide their time, waste their time, manage their time all in hopes of reaching a goal set some time in the future. Dictionary.com attaches 64 definitions of time and what one does with it. For many; they think it's inescapable and even for others amorphous and abstract. I hope this discussion of time will broaden your sense of the word and perhaps give you a new perspective of time.

Time anywhere you go in the world is tracked by seconds. In physics if you travel to any country you wish; it's still measured in small increments that tick by. Physicists may go further still and say that a second is the time that cesium-133 takes to perform 9,192,631,770 oscillations exactly on the subatomic level. They may very well think that it's fine to attach an exact scientific value to our dear second, but it doesn't help explain what it is. The term "time" and all the terms associated with time were made by humans to explain the passage of, for lack of a better word, the life of the universe. Before humans on Earth, surely there existed what we know as time; but it was never measured.

Clever scientists found through carbon dating how old the Earth really was; 4.5 billion years old to be exact. Yet these figures of increments of time have been ingrained into our very souls. Counting off on our hands the units of time that pass by when we play hide and go seek or progressively celebrating our birth of the revolution around the sun we deemed to be one year comprised of still other units of time.

Albert Einstein gives us a very alluring quote: "...for us physicists believe the separation between past, present, and future is only an illusion, although a convincing one."

Is time, as Einstein says, an illusion? Surely it must exist since we all know it so well. I mean, our whole lives have been dictated by this illusion so it must be real; or is it really so? Another famous scientist of his time named Galilee Galileo defined time by his work with the pendulum where he used a large water clock to track a ball through water as it weighed out time with each pass. Surely a thing that can be seen with the naked eye to track the thing we know as time proves its existence. Personally, I don't think it does. Though Galileo's experiment did prove a passage of what time would be, it does not altogether prove that time exists outright.

Then perhaps time is something of convenience instead of something of irrefutable fact. Perhaps time itself is abstract, in so far as, it can't be explained with mere experimental set-up. Perhaps everyone must acknowledge time in the philosophical point of view and see time as a passage of what has been, what is now, and what's to come. Time can not be viewed by itself because it is intangible. Perhaps the most intangible thing that humans can think of. The concept is vague, yet accepted.

Time would be different on every planet you visit. Our day is determined by the rotation of the Earth and like I said before; our year is determined by the revolution around the sun. So what then; do we consider to be correct? What do we consider to be incorrect?

The latest theory of the science community at large is to consider a sub-atomic particle named the tachyon that moves faster than the speed of light and is basically a piece of time. Not like a second, however an increment of existence. My reaction is very skeptic to whether this can explain what time is or is not. But, just because imagination dreams up these things doesn't mean it should be tossed out as illogical and stupid because many similar type theories have ended up as the forefront explanation.

Is he right? You and I can only make assumptions, and assumptions cannot prove or disapprove his theory. Perhaps it did; maybe it didn't. I wasn't there and neither was Ilya Prigogne or you. Time is an illusion, however; we live in that illusion and it will not change as long as human beings still need it to run and program their lives. It is your decision as to whether you believe in a theory or not. Be it time or anything else that is open to more explanation which is everything XD.

Well I guess most of you have seen it. The recent Google logo today. Where it happens to be Google with or without a "L" in it.

10 days ago there was also a "Google Doodle" that was a UFO abducting the "O". Supposedly Google is trying to tell us something. Maybe it is something to do with H.G. Wells anniversary coming up, author of War of the Worlds. Or maybe it has something to do with a new project, maybe something to do with the letters "O" and "L". OR Google is run by aliens (exactly what I was thinking).

It was also speculated that by Twitters the coordinates 51.327629, -0.5616088 is located in a small town of Horsell in Surrey.

Well Google has announced that they will be telling us what this means in the weeks coming.

The Planets
Well I think it seems like the right time to bring a thread like this out into light while the Sailor Moon gals are headlighting our Administration and Moderation and speak about the Planets in our solar system. I know the thread will attain a number the fingers on my hand can predict, but I love making threads like this anyway for the general amusement of the forum, for anyone that's interested in Planetary sciences, and perhaps discussion of your favorite planet out of the list of them. (I will be including Pluto as well since the Sailors wouldn't be complete without it).

MERCURY

This is the innermost planet of the ones that circle are bright and shining sun and one of the hottest. For those of you who know anything about mythology, Mercury is the messenger of the Roman Gods in the pantheon which is derived from the Greek God Hermes.

Since the planet doesn't have an strong atmosphere, it's a planet like the rest that get really hot when facing the sun and really cold while away. During the day time it can get up to a scorching 840 degrees Fahrenheit (about 4 times the boiling point of water), and at nighttime it goes down to -275 degrees Fahrenheit. The gravity on Mercury is about 1/3 of that on the Earth which is right between the Earth and the Earth's Moon in terms of gravitational pull.

One day on Mercury is equivalent to 176 days on the earth since the planet rotates so slowly, however a year on Mercury is only equivalent to about 88 days on Earth since it's revolution is held so closely to the Sun. The planet is very tiny as well; you could go from Philadelphia to Los Angeles and that would approximately cover the distance across the diameter of the planet

VENUS

This is the second innermost planet in our solar system located between Mercury and the Earth and is also the brightest object in the sky after the Moon and the Sun. It is usually called the Morning Star, since that's what time of the day you usually find Venus rising in the sky. Venus is actually the Roman Goddess of Love and can be equated to the Greek Goddess Aphrodite.

The planet itself is actually very similar to our own planet in its composition and size. Venus is only very slightly smaller than the Earth itself. The rotation of the planet is very slow yet again, but oddly enough actually goes in opposite direction of rotation than the Earth does (meaning the Sun would rise in the West!). One day on Venus would be 243 days on Earth, however; one year on Venus is only 225 Earth days. Life would still be unbearable on the surface with temperatures rising in the day to 900 degress Fahrenheit to 50 degrees Fahrenheit at nighttime. The reason it's hotter than Mercury is because it's atmosphere consists primarily of Carbon Dioxide which in turn has a greenhouse effect on the planet.

EARTH

Yes our old blue planet and the third rock from the sun. The surface covered over 70% in water and the atmosphere made up of nearly 80% Nitrogen and the rest Oxygen and other gases. The only life supporting planet in our solar system. At 1000 mph, the Earth rotates around it's axis to complete a day's cycle in 24 hours and a rotates around the sun in approximately 365 days.

It has one natural satellite which we call the moon, but who's actual name is Luna. We obviously have the only man made satellites, which NASA counted as 2,271 roaming about the orbit. The temperature ranges moderately on our surface and the Earth itself is over 4.5 billion years old.

MARS

Mars is our fourth planet from the Sun, and is still slightly smaller than the Earth in diameter. Traditionally called the Red Planet, Mars is named after the Roman God of War, in turn named from the Greek God of War; Ares. Encircling the planet are the two moons Phobos and Deimos who by Greek mythology standards followed Ares into battle.

The atmosphere again is made mostly of Carbon Dioxide and the Temperature ranges heavily from between -220 Degrees Fahrenheit in the nighttime to 60 Degrees Fahrenheit during the day. One rotation around it's axis takes about 24 hours and 37 minutes and the revolution around the sun is 10 and a half months longer than our own year. Mars is being studied by NASA to try to find if the planet harbored life at one point sending rovers and drones to scope out the land and take pictures of the surface and more interesting finds are being discovered every year.

D23 EXPO [Disney Expo] Updates.

Disney's big D23 Expo kicks-off today at the Anaheim Convention Center, and ComingSoon.net will be covering the event, but it seems the studio has already made some of the biggest announcements before the show has even started. In addition to last night's news that Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will voice Rapunzel, John Lasseter was also in London today to reveal news and show clips that were expected to premiere at D23 Expo.

Empire magazine attended the presentation in which Lasseter revealed that Timothy Dalton will voice a character call Mr. Pricklepants in Toy Story 3, "who's something of a luvvie and wears lederhosen." The magazine described a animation test they saw of the character and the trailer:

We saw a tiny animation test with Mr Pricklepants (who's cute in a spiky way), but the big news was a lengthy Toy Story 3 clip and trailer. The clip showed Andy packing from college, and emptying all his toys into a black bin bag for storage in the attic. He hesitates over Woody and Buzz, finally putting Woody in the box of things to take for college. But all the toys are panicked - especially Woody, who's worried for his friends. When Andy is distracted by his little sister and leaves the garbage bag on the landing instead of upstairs in the attic, his mother takes it out to the kerb - and a frantic Woody has to save his friends from a rapidly approaching bin lorry.

We also saw the as-yet unreleased trailer, which showed bits of the same scene, but developed the story. Clearly the toys end up being sent to a daycare centre, where they are horribly abused by the little kids - and after that it's time for a break-out attempt to find a safe haven, and hopefully a new owner, in a cruel world. It looks every bit as good as its titanic predecessors.

Empire also says Lasseter revealed the story for Cars 2:

The story sees Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson), his pit team and new pit boss Mater head around the world for the Race of Champions, to take place in five different countries and involve the champions of different disciplines like Formula One and rally driving. First up is a race in Tokyo, starting at Mount Fuji and heading downtown (somewhat reminiscent of Mater's Tall Tales short about drift-racing, that); then there's a German race through the Black Forest; then "Porto Corsa" in Italy, which is based partly on the Monte Carlo Grand Prix; then a 24-hour race around Paris (so somewhat like Le Mans then) and finally a thrilling climax in London, approaching Buckingham Palace (where the guards appear to be Land Rovers).

But all this racing is not the only focus. Mater, who we know from the series of cartoon shorts Mater's Tall Tales (more on that in our blog in a minute) is prone to exaggeration, gets involved in a "Hitchcockian" case of mistaken identity, saves the life of a British secret agent called Finn McMissile (who looks a heck of a lot like an Aston Martin) and becomes embroiled in a huge spy thriller. Only no-one believes him. That too comes to a head at Buckingham Palace.

Along the way there are towtruck-abroad pictures to be taken at the Oktoberfest in Germany (where Mater wears "Materhosen") and harassing the aforementioned Palace Guards. Is it weird that Mater isn't annoying me at all any more, after being a bit of a pain at times in the first film?

Next up was a presentation on the new Winnie the Pooh movie that is in the works:

Lasseter followed that - and a series of gorgeous production stills - with Winnie-the-Pooh, which the studio is bringing back to the big screen in spring of 2011, and which we are assured will not just be for little kids. The writers went through the archives and the books of A.A. Milne and found five stories that had never been filmed, combining the plots of all five into a feature-length story. Burny Mattinson, an animator who's been at Disney for over 50 years and who worked with Walt on the original Pooh films, is working closely with directors Steve Anderson, Clark Spencer and Don Hall.

And lastly they saw concept art for The Bear and the Bow:

It's Pixar's first real attempt at a leading female character (and a female director in Brenda Chapman), and focuses on Merida (Reese Witherspoon), a princess in 10th century Scotland. She's something of a wild girl who's most at home in the Highlands rather than in the family castle, and is somewhat alienated from her family: King Fergus (Billy Connolly), Queen Eleanor (Emma Thompson) and her much younger triplet brothers. We don't know many details of the plot, except that it's less about finding a prince and more about Merida's relationship with her mother (Yay!), but we do know that there will be a baddie, who's a witch (she prefers "Wise Woman") and is voiced by Julie Walters. Only concept art for that one, but gorgeous concept art.

Also news about three upcoming Hayao Miyazaki films and a some new hand drawn Disney feature films to be released in the upcoming years.
Some head executives were in attendance from Disney interactive including collaborator Shinji Hashimoto who is rumored to be working with Pixar on a new movie in the coming months.

I believe this is called genetic memory and it has been explored by psychologist for a while. I'm curious to know if anyone else has ever thought that some of their personality might be attributed to race of their ancestors, especially if there is a lack of real reason why it would have been society or upbringing.

It's been a while since my last thread that had an albeit different theme on physics and metaphysics and what have you. I know the majority of Wiipals doesn't appreciate that (lol), but I like to roll with it anyway. Well then, my main hobby is MANGA and lots of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of anime as well however after many many days of my life wasted on the issue I've found that anime pales in comparison.

I hope the thread will survive the mods since I didn't see a thread on Manga explicitly and manga is vastly different from anime although many people love to overlap them, I'd like to share some viewpoints of favorite mangas you like to read and what you've read so far. Well then here we go....I'll rate my top five manga then just the manga i've read. I'll leave out some of explicity material (No, they're not hentai you perverts) and if you have questions of manga suggestions and manga sites to go to just ask =D. I don't generally read Shoujo, Josei, Yaoi, or Yuri manga but I do know of them so also don't be afraid to ask once again lol...

Cavalier of the Abyss - The sequel to Immortal Regis but I didn't like it =/ strange...

Metal Heart - It gets boring honestly

Kandachime --- Some people are swords and some are masters and w/e lol

Onihime VS -In my opinion a godly manga. New manga too. =D

History's Greatest Disciple Kenichi -- To tell the truth I hated the anime. I tried the manga and it's getting to the point where I love it highly recommended.

(I wanna know what your thoughts about what this movies gunna be like)The new movie ''Gamer''...... It's set in the future when mind control takes society by storm.... a billionaire named Ken Castle creates a game he calls ''Slayer''. But no not just any game like legend of zelda or sonic the hedge hog no sir....

In this game people control people. Yes that's correct, people.... controlling people..
The players? Your average every day teenagers... Victims being controlled? Prison inmates on death row....

The point of the game is the players can control they're characters being the prisoners. If the ''characters'' can survive 30 sessions(30 days weeks or once a week i dunno) they earn their freedom and right to live... Though..... It's not that easy to win.....

The game is kinda like call of duty, halo ,and al that stuff mixed together. Its just billions of prisoners in what im guessing is a giant isolated island with cities being destroyed, meanwhile the prisoners are gaining items like rifles jeeps tanks and grenades killing each other..

The main characters are Kable(the inmate) and his controller Simon a teenage boy that is really good at video games apparently. Simon continues to dodge every obstacles And helps Kable survive every week. Kable is in the game also because he wants to rescue his family, and rescue all of man kind from Castle's evil game.

Disney Buys Marvel for $4 Billion

The worldwide leader in family entertainment is about to get a great deal more entertaining, as the Walt Disney Company agrees to acquire iconic comic book company Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion.

More than 5,000 iconic comic book characters will soon be in the hands of Disney, raising serious questions about the future of Marvel video game titles from Activision, Sega, THQ, and the upcoming MMO from Gazillion Entertainment. Under the terms of the agreement, Disney will pay Marvel shareholders $30 per share for their Marvel stock, plus .745 of a share of Disney stock for each share they own.

"This transaction combines Marvel's strong global brand and world-renowned library of characters including Iron Man, Spider-Man, X-Men, Captain America, Fantastic Four and Thor with Disney's creative skills, unparalleled global portfolio of entertainment properties, and a business structure that maximizes the value of creative properties across multiple platforms and territories," said Robert A. Iger, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company. "Ike Perlmutter and his team have done an impressive job of nurturing these properties and have created significant value. We are pleased to bring this talent and these great assets to Disney."

That's Disney's say on the matter, and here is Marvel's, from the official press release:

"Disney is the perfect home for Marvel's fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses," said Ike Perlmutter, Marvel's Chief Executive Officer. "This is an unparalleled opportunity for Marvel to build upon its vibrant brand and character properties by accessing Disney's tremendous global organization and infrastructure around the world."

Both companies have approved the deal, though it still has to clear the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act and various regulatory committees before it can be finalized. Once finalized, Marvel's Perlmutter will continue to oversee Marvel's properties, working with Disney to help integrate the two properties across multiple lines of business.

We're staying on top of the situation, with calls out to Disney, Marvel, Activision, THQ, and Sega for comment on what effects this move will have on Marvel-based video game properties.
