I went on NP on my psp earlier today and noticed the NP Mobile was gone and it shows up in full html format. Sure it looks nice but it loads extremely slow and sometimes runs out of memory and fails to load. Is there any way to change it back for a individual person by entering some special URL like with YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. and YouTube - Broadcast Yourself..

So apparently on some boards (like the clan board for instance) I can see advertisements on the right side, even though VIPs aren't supposed to see them. I'm thinking maybe it's just a glitch with my profile? Anyways it's not that big of deal, just pointing it out so someone can take a look at the problem Thanks.

Just a quick thing. When I went to post in THIS thread, a message showed up saying a moderator would have to moderate my post and blah blah blah. This same glitch occurred over at Playstationworlds with a few users a while ago. I was just curious if this was a temporary glitch in the system or if Moderators are actually going to moderate nearly EVERY post?

I am sorry if this was already suggested but wouldn't it be cool if be had a Birthday thread? We could wish people happy B-day there and it would encourage many more people to wish people happy birthday. And it would also be a LOT easier than making a THREAD for every single person's b-day. :awesome:

Also is this perhaps already in the VIP section? If this is I wouldn't know so also sorry ^_^

Another thing: If there IS a thread in the VIP section could it be moved where EVERYONE could see it, as it's only fair that everyone celebrates their B-day not just VIPS ;)

An Anime/TV Section for the Chat Room

I'm wondering whether adding an Anime/TV section to the Chat Room would be more beneficial than harmful. This section would be for Anime, TV shows, Movies, Manga, etc.

Here are some noticeable Pros and Cons that I have thought up. I would like other peoples' opinions on this, because there could be some important cons that I have not thought of, yet.

Feel free to post any comments or suggestions.

Pros:

- Less spam in the Lounge
- Broad topic = Lasting topic = More people could come to the room
- People would not have to listen to spoilers from other people who are chatting

Cons:

- An additional folder may add clutter to the chat room
- It may not be used after it's created (though Anime/TV is a very broad topic, therefore, people will have a high chance of coming here)

Alternatives:

- Talking via PMs or Profile Comments
- Deleting a less-used section of the Chat room (For example, The Conduit, since I hardly ever see people there) to add this one
- Chatting in a room other than the Lounge (For example, the Wifi Room, though, I've heard that the Wifi Rooms are only used for NP meetings. Also, the name "Wifi Room" means that people may or may not reluctant to go there to talk about TV and Anime since they're not related to "Wifi")

I've said all that I felt I wanted to say. If this thread gets locked, then so be it.

Making SotWs Better for the Average Member?

Anyway, something I've been thinking about for awhile. Methinks something about SotW should be changed.......

DSigners really shouldn't be allowed to enter SotW with the regular members. It's really very unfair, because they're OBVIOUSLY very good at GFX (otherwise, they wouldn't be DSigners, duh), so OBVIOUSLY they're going to win. I think, they should have their own SotW, so that they're not totally left out, and then other members are given a chance.

Maybe this could include ex-DSigners as well? Of course, that'd be very complicated, but it was just a thought :roll:

But, yeah....when the Review Team had creative contests, RT members weren't allowed to enter....so why can't it be the same with DSigners?

Is there some kind of glitch in the system? Whenever I make long threads, like tourney ones, something makes the formatting get all messed up, and idk what it is. I would have to click the "Switch Editor Mode" button and manually do EVERYTHING all over again. I would post this in the tech support forum but i thought that it should be taken into consideration and fixed if it happens to others as well.

Examples of what happens

a spoiler gets cut into 2 seperate ones
extra spacing is created when I didnt do it
things are sent to the left when i center them
bullet #s 2 and onward get erased, and only the 1st stays

Looks a bit wonky no?

Isn't too much of a problem there, but if you've seen the previous league table we have there, which is pretty huge, it's a bit neck-craning trying to see what's in line with what...

I'm using Firefox, but I'm fairly certain it's not a problem on my end, because I've had a few people point this out.

Maybe it's a problem with how I'm setting out the tags or something, but I spent a while trying to figure this out a while back before giving up, which makes me believe it's something with the site.

pokemon stuff

OK so I see scope for making the pokemon more attractive to potential trainers to migrate from other sites

Here a couple of ideas of mine to begin making this site more attarctive to serious trainers

1) Remove the image limit from the pokemon trade sub forum (only this sub forum)

Many trainers like a trade thread with 1 post per tier (pokefans will understand this) but the image limit means spilling into more and more posts

2) add pokemon sprites to the smilies so that people can add them this way rather than hot linking to other sources

example:

these would become smilies so that trainers could more easily manage images in their threads

I really think this has scope to start bringing in pokemembers and liven the site up as a result

Will there ever be gaming sages for ACCF? Gaming sages were formed to help people in the gaming world. The ACCF sages could answer questions and help new comers in there town. It might give staff members less work to do. It's not a bad idea, and this may increase the interest of Animal Crossing.

Some Site Suggestions

I know I'm new, but I'm not new to being a member of a forum. I'm just taking the opportunity to make some suggestions to a site that looks pretty cool and, for the small amount of time I've been here, very friendly.

So, here they are:

1) Shoutbox:
Having some sort of chat or shoutbox gives users another outlet to talk and converse with one another. This also opens up more options in getting games together, talking between clan/guild members and discussing new announcements on the site.

An IRC chat that is welcoming and visible to everyone would be a good place, but I'm not a fan of chats that aren't displayed on the forum index. One site in particular has a shoutbox immediately above the first board, so when accessing the forum, the shoutbox is the first thing you see.

I think it'd be a nice thing to have. It would probably get some more activity going whenever the boards are slow and just having that sort of outlet is nice.

2) Opening the Reviews section for previews and non-game reviews:
I noticed that the reviews section is focused mainly on games, which isn't surprising and I respect that decision considering this is a gaming website.

However, reviewing isn't limited just to games and I know people here do more than just game. They read books, watch TV, see movies, etc etc. Maybe allowing reviews for non-gaming subjects would be in order? I for one would love this kind of feature since I like to review more than just games.

Previewing would also be nice. If adding previews to the reviews section would offer more activity there, why not?

Sorry if these things are already allowed, but as far as I know, they aren't. My apologies if this is an unnecessary suggestion.

3) Adding a rating section to the Pokemon board:
I noticed that the Pokemon Friend Codes section, which has things like Pokemon Teams and the like, but lacks a rating board. The PokeUniversity seems to go along the lines of that, but doesn't really offer up that sort of option.

Essentially, having a rating board would allow players to discuss their teams in-depth and get critique on their line-ups, allowing them to become better at developing a team and playing the game in general.

Again, as far as I know, there is no place for this, but if there is, again, my apologies.

So, that's all that I can think of at the moment. NintendoPals seems like a very well-run place and I'm glad I stumbled upon it. I hope some of this helps!

EDIT: I found the Chat tab at the top, lol. Sorry about that. Though, a chat on the actual forum index would be nice. Still, my apologies for the unnecessary suggestion.

Chat wont work

Everytime I try to enter chat, Java comes up, but it will not load. It also locks up the computer forcing me to exit the browser via End Task (even though it says FireFox is running).

Why isn't Java loading, and why does it lock up the computer? Please help!

Reason for ban

So you know how every time someone gets banned, you go to their profile, and the first thing you see is all these people asking the same question: "How did you get banned :G". So I dunno if it's appropriate or not, but do you think maybe we should include a reason for ban type thing or something, so that the members can see what they were banned for? Cause I personally would like to have that, cause I'm always curious as to why someone got the banhammer. I'm sure other members are the same way. I think this may also help members avoid the same fate since they know the reason that person got banned, and wont wind up doing the same thing that person did to get banned.

Just a suggestion. Maybe it's not necessary or whatever. But I think it would be kool to have so people wont spam one's profile with the same questions, and so they wont have to waste their time trying to figure out what happened.

When it comes to pay pal I can be quite the noob, embarrassing enough was asking for donations on one of my old fan sites that I owned and having the pay pal set up wrong.

K so as some may know, I have issues with the fifteen second rule constantly. It is constantly malfunctioning, like telling me to wait fifteen seconds after I already have, or telling me to wait even though I haven't searched in a while. Roots told me this was a caching issue or something. I have no idea what 'caching' is, but can anyone help me resolve it so the fifteen second rule will stop malfunctioning all the time?

When I look at the introductions area, I see someone who gives a relatively lenghty amount of info about themselves, and then say hello.

What people reply is
"Hi welcome to NP"

"Welcome to NP enjoy your stay"

And such and such.

What's my problem with this?

It just seems like it's an easy way to boost post count (not sure if Post Count is enabled there or not though). Just click on an Intro thread, and without reading a thing about the new person then just type in a generic "Hello" that could be used in any situation.

So this Suggestion could be stupid or maybe helpful:

Could we ask people to either reply something that takes interest in the person instead of a neutral and robotic "Hello welcome"?

To all the admins out there, i had an idea that i think would be a great addition to the site, but I don't know if it can be done. My idea was to add on a search feature where you can search for users by their friend codes, it would be like you select the game or console, then type in the friend code and search. I think it's a pretty good idea but i don't know if it can be done. so do you think you could add this feature to the site?
