Role-Play Character Backstory Contest!

Goal: To let everyone know your character's past - and to make it the most interesting one anyone's ever seen!

Entries should be short stories and can be in either your character's point of view or a third person point of view. Please try to keep it as short as possible without leaving out any important information.

Rules:

Your character must be entirely original - as in, not a copy of a character from a movie, game, etc. (You can, however, look at characters for ideas.)
You may not copy or use another person's RP character.
You may advertise the contest, but do not campaign for votes.
The story can not be less than 200 words.
Be sure to only cover the important backstory information - don't get too off-topic!

Who can enter? Anyone and everyone!

What will the winner recieve? The top 2 shall recieve a wifi coin of their choice, and the winner will recieve a signature made by me (if they so wish).

The contest shall run from Sunday, August 9, 2009 until Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 11:59 pm. After that, another thread will be made for voting.

This thread is merely for entries - no chatting, please.

Okay...I got it finished...took about 15 minutes XD

My name is Bakuri Mikazuki. Upon first glance, I appear to be a normal teenage girl. Not many people would believe that I have the power to control darkness – well, shadows – or that I’m the princess of a place called the Shadow Realm. Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t make me the villain – on the contrary, I’m just the opposite. I’ve learned from past experiences that fighting can never solve anything, so I try to avoid it as much as possible. I suppose I could tell you, if you’d like to hear. I’ll give you the abridged version to save on time, how’s that sound? Okay, so here’s my story..

When I was five years old, a ceremony was held. It was a typical thing for the royal family – this is where my ‘shadow powers’ were ‘awakened’. I was pretty excited, to be honest. But I got an unexpected surprise that day – a sister. Well, see, I’m actually her reincarnation, as crazy as it sounds. It was some prophecy that had been made about 500 years ago, I'm not too sure. Even so, we grew up like sisters.

Five years later, at age 10, my father had to go off to fight in a war with the Light Realm (generic, I know, but that’s honestly what it’s called). So my sister, Ryoku, and I were left in charge. Mostly Daddy’s vizier took care of things, but hey, the two of us felt pretty special, getting to run the kingdom. Well, we received news a few months later that Daddy had been killed in battle. I took it in more of a tear-fest way, but Ryoku got more angry and wanted revenge. But instead, the king cast a spell that turned my best friend into my worst enemy. My friend, and servant at the time, Angela, saved me and helped me get away, but it didn’t really appear worth it. I’d lost the 2 people who were the most important to me.

Well, as you can tell, I finally picked myself back up and went back to being myself. Running a kingdom at age 10 is pretty difficult, true, but I pulled it off. And I also replaced Daddy’s vizier, as most heirs do. Angela’s my vizier – well I prefer the word advisor, it sounds less proper, and I hate sounding all proper – and she does a pretty darn good job at it.

I have a tendency to run off on adventures, but I leave the kingdom in good, faithful hands. My story may not be the happiest, but hey, whose is? And I got through it – that’s what counts.

Spoilered due to being a wall of text. XD
Anyway, instead of it being a seemingly random story, I had her give a sort of introduction and closing. Just to have it make more sense since it's from her point of view =P

Remember to leave out the information that isn't exactly necessary; you only need to include the important things that help make your character who they are today. If that ends up being long, then so be it.

Voila! In view humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the “vox populi” now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin, van guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V. I'll have a real one later I promise __________________
