According to a blog from the Director of PSN there will be a firmware update (2.4) soon to allow XMB access in game and Trophies. Look out xBox live! PS3 is catching up quick and remaining free.

Now all we have to do is wait for more information about the release of home.

As I have stated and predicted before PS3 will defeat XBOX 360 in sales before the new consoles come out. But looking at the coming lineup of Wii games and E3 coming soon, I think that the Wii will still win overall. I am glad to see the PS3 getting better everyday.

No doubt in my mind the Wii will win overall. But I hope with all my being that the 360 eventually gets overturned by the PS3. The PS3 has been outselling the 360 for several months when you look at the worldwide numbers and even beat the 360 last month in NA. I have high hopes and I think offering something to compete with the achievement system (aka Trophies) is a step in the right direction for Sony.

I'm not sure I understand. Trophies and “XMB” access ... ? We already have trophies, and I have no idea what the other is. Anyone?

XMB is Xross Media Bar, pretty much the home menu for the PS3, the thing that comes up when you press the PS button while playing a game. But this is old news, this thread is like 10 months old, I don't know why it was brought up again, as 2.7 is now out, and this thread is about 2.4.

The reason you don't understand is that Fyre Dragon necroed this one from last June... At that point we did not have Trophies.... This is why necro posting sucks. Locking thread.
