Hell Tbh $299 is a Steal for a PS3. Heck I feel Sony will "Raise the Bar" in Sales.

Finally, good to see Sony back on top of the console market. Personally, I'm glad to see that people are now going out to buy a PS3 over a Wii and 360. There's a great choice of games: Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Resistance: Fall of Man, Littlebigplanet, Resistance 2, The Agency and games like M.A.G and Modern Warfare 2 on the way. The online is free and IMO is better than Xbox Live. Personally, the Wii won't go back to the top cause everyone who wants a Wii has one lol.

Sony's pricecut is out of sheer desperation--cause they're being out-done by Nintendo...
but $299 is a great price for a game console/Blueray player

Desperation? Don't think so. It became cheaper to make the PS3. Cheaper parts=cheaper console. And you get way more than a game console and a blu ray player.

Yeah, creating the PS3 Slim was a great move on Sony's part because it allowed for easier production and lower pricing, resulting in increased sales all around.

Hopefully this boost in sales can make up for the amount of money Sony lost in the launch and the years following. Not that Sony needs any more money :P

Wii - 52.62 million.
PS3 - 24.6 million.
360 - 31 million.
