Good guide (I got the Pro, wish I would of got the Elite but it was a present) but I noticed one mistake. The Xbox360 Pro (and probably the Arcade too) can only output to 720p, not 1080. I know this because I hooked it up to my HDTV and it said the output was 720. I know my TV can support up to 1080i, so it must be the Xbox360.
That kinda sucks, and I wish they would of said that on the box

Edit : I looked it up and it turns out all the xboxs support up to 1080p of High Definition. Not too sure about your problem. It might be your HDTV. Some only support 720p.

Correct. 1080i and 1080p are different resolutions. Since your TV only supports 1080i. Having it set on 1080p pretty much changes by itself to a resolution suitable for your console and the TV. If I was you I'd just keep it on 720p. Like you said the difference is hard to tell and you'll probably never notice it.

As long as your XBOX 360 has an HDMI output located on the lower right back of the console, you can run all the way up to 1080p. Now some t.v.'s do not support up to 1080p as most of those t.v.'s are pretty expensive. So if your t.v. only supports us to 1080i I would reccomend 720p as the resolution to use.
the i stands for interlaced frames and the p is for progressive scan. Progressive scan is always better than interlaced. The whole 1080i vs 720p debate can be googled and tons of information found. |

I guess thats pretty much it. But like I said before the difference is almost impossible to tell unless you have a TV screen thats like 10 feet wide. So either way it'll be fine. What Frank Force said pretty much covers it all. If you don't have the the HDMI outlets then use 720p or 1080i.
