You can always do some googling for some alternate third party devices that work well too. One way I did it before I got mine was that I hooked up a ethernet cord on my xbox and my laptop. Then setting my wireless network sharing on my xbox to share I could get a decent connection. But I had to have my laptop turned on.
This is another way to get Wi-fi. Check out the video. If you wanted to do it the laptop heres a tutorial you can follow after you connected the 2 with a ethernet cable.

You can always try to find a wired cord to try to connect your xbox to your computer or router. That may work, but I"m not sure. When my 360 was working, I used a wireless router and it woked fine. =)
Unfortunately, wireless adapters are around $75-$100. Sorry. :/ |
