The pricing restructure comes just weeks after Sony dropped the price of its newly redesigned Playstation 3 console. With Microsoft's cut, both the Xbox 360 Elite and the Playstation 3 Slim now share a $299 price tag, setting up a toe-to-toe battle over the all-important Q4 holiday season. Your turn, Nintendo.

I was reading this early today on yahoo news. I was like wow but that is good news for me because my Mom is getting me the xbox360 Elite for my birthday and the wii so I will be happy. But I think that is a good deal now for the xbox360 Elite and I think that people will just start going and buying it.

I lost intrest in the wii a little I still play it but I like to play with my Ds and Psp then when I get my xbox360 I will love to play with that but I still like the wii just not as much when it first came out. I think some people are also losing interst in the wii I am not really but I don't play it as much as I do.


The xbox360 Elite is the best one of all the xbox systems for me out there. Because people say that it is mostly the best one and does not have much problems so that is the kind of system that I am looking for but then you never know it could be a faulty syestem that you get but mostly they are not faulty because if they where people woul dnot be buying them.

My thoughts about the price cut is great it will be good that it is not as much as was. But the other thought is I wonder why they cut the price down I think so they can commpete with sony that is what it is sounding like to me most of the time. Or that is could be that they just want to get more people to buy the Elite for the Holiday or a special event like a B-Day.

Well, the elite is a good system, but with the price drop you're also losing the HDMI cord. Not that it's a big deal, it's just something that should be noted.

Personally, I don't think this will rake in a lot of new customers. The 360 already had a $300 system, and anybody who ever wanted a 360 probably has already gotten theirs. I don't think anybody was waiting for the elites to drop in price, where as I know a lot of people who were waiting for the Ps3's announcement.

The Ps3 has never had a $300 system, so people will probably look at it and think it's a great deal. (which it is )

Elite should really be $200.00 if you ask me cause it don't come with that much like wifi and such.Not to mention how badly 360 fails, yes people even Jasper 360's.

Its already happened where I am.

As for me, I got a better deal because Microsoft been being very generous to Canadians. I got and Elite with Halo 3, the HDMI cable and a Wireless Adapter all for only $329.99. $30 more then the regular Elite.

How many times are you going to talk about the friggen' jasper chips? Like we know there are problems. Doesn't mean you have to talk about it in every freaking thread.

$200? Yeah right. $300 is quite the good deal since you're getting the larger hard drive, sexier black box, and more reliable parts.

Not compared when chosing from a SLIM PS3 that has more feature for the same price buddy.Yeah buy something that has a 54% failure that's not even wifi certified out the box.Not to mention it still has a disc tray that destroys games unlike PS3 and WII.

I have never witnessed or had a problem with this so called disc scratching thing you mentioned. The only way I see it happening to anybody is if they bump it during gameplay, which would cause it to move and it would be their fault.

I can't argue with the 54% fail rating. The RROD is always haunting me when i think about buying a 360.

My opinion.
$299 price drop for the Elite was a great idea. Yes, agreed about how sexy it looks. This would definitely be a more then worthy buy for me if i had a good enough reason to buy.

As Hacksaw said, PS3 is the better buy, atleast for me. More friends really make a great console better, 360, PS3 or Wii.
