Age of Mythology Help!

I have a problem with AoM! I installed it successfully but I can't get past the main menu because of a graphical problem...

Whatever I click on turns the screen into an illegible mess!
I am trying to run this on Vista, and my copy of AOM has the 'crack' file in it which was required to make it work, as it was downloaded from the internet by my uncle, don't know if that helps any but thats all I can give.

Please help if you can!
