Welcome to the season 2 of the BlkMagik Smashleague.It's really not a league but a tournament that has a groups going into single elimination rounds. Last season's BSL champion, Ride The Yoshi defeated Vio in a 3-0 score to take the 2000 Wii Points Card. This season will be more intense than the last, with a new format that is promised to create rivalries or strengthen the ones that are standing. Who will take the 2000 Wii Points card this time?

Tournament Format & Rules

GROUP SELECTION

Explaination:
#1 seed will be placed into Group A, #2 seed will be placed into Group B and so forth. Starting from Group A, each seed will choose a player from the player pool to join the group as the 2nd player. Once all the seeds chosen their player, starting from Group D all 2nd players will chose a player to join the group as the 3rd player. Once that is over starting from Group A the 3rd player will choose the last player for their group. Each choice has a time limit of 24 hours before being skipped (The whole selection won't take longer than 8 days)

Group A: 1st seed -> 1st pick -> 8th pick -> 9th pick
Group B: 2nd seed -> 2nd pick -> 7th pick -> 10th pick
Group C: 3rd seed -> 3rd pick -> 6th pick -> 11th pick
Group D: 4th seed -> 4th pick -> 5th pick -> last player not picked

ROUND OF 16

- Each group plays a round robin (each player playing each other once for 3 matches on 3 different weeks)
- 1st place and 2nd place advances to the ROUND OF 8 while 3rd and 4th is eliminated
- If either 1st or 2nd place cannot continue to play after Ro16 finished, All 3rd place players will play in a 'Wildcard bracket' to determine for 2nd place in the group (The original 2nd place player will become the group winner)
- Players are ordered based on the following: 1. Most wins, 2. Head to head, 3. Points (game wins minus game losses), 4. tiebreaker match(es)
- Players match-dodging will forfeit their match and receive a loss (includes if both players don't play their match)

PLAYOFFS (Round of 8, Semifinals and Grand Finals)

- The set bracket is randomized so that each group winner plays a group runner-up (not from the same group) in the ROUND OF 8 and players from the same group will be on opposite sides
- Round of 8 Stage ban rule: Group winners may ban 2 stages from the set before the 1st game and runner-ups cannot ban any stages
- Semifinals and Grand Finals Stage ban rule: Both players in a match up may ban 1 stage from the set before the 1st game (Players flip a coin to see who bans a stage 1st)
- Players match-dodging will forfeit their match and receive a loss (if both players match-dodge, a lucky loser draw will be made to determine who will advance in their place)

Tournament Match Rules:
- Matches are Best of 3 games (Best of 5 games in Semifinals and Grand Finals), each game is 3 stocks / 7 minute time limit with NO Items
- Each player MAY ONLY use their registered main character (failing to do so will forfeit 1 game unless your opponent agrees a rematch) unless opponent agrees on the switch of the character.
- If time ends, player with the most stocks will win. If there is a tie, the player with the lower damage percentage will win
- All games within a match is played on the following stages (Battlefield, Final Destination, Smashville, Yoshi's Island, Lylat Cruise, Halberd and Pokemon Stadium) based on both player's choices
- A stage cannot be played on twice during the set (if the stage chosen by the random selector was already played, restart the game)
- Metaknight's Infinite Dimension Cape is BANNED
- No stalling (No chain-grabbing/infinites past 300%)
- Any known -cide (eg. Bowsercide) rules will be in effect
- If lag persists games can be reduced to 1 or 2 stocks providing both players agree
- Players dropping out of a game after stocks are loss will forfeit the game unless the opponent agrees to rematch

Other rules:
- No flamming inside the tournament thread, whether its directed at a player or a fellow Nintendopals member (taunting and bragging is alright but nothing too extreme)
- No spamming the thread
- All other Nintendopals forums rules apply
- Players that have been banned from Nintendopals for more than 4 days will forfeit the match and may be disqualified from this season
- No lying or misleading results (failure to do so would mean disqualification)
- Cannot enter the tournament with multiple accounts
- No playing for another players
- The Tournament admins decisions are final

So if you want to participate in this season you must have one of the requirements:
1) actively played in one of my tournaments,
2) has at least 40 posts,
3) have been a member of np for at least 3 months

Also post your main character for the whole tournament and timezone. Random can be chosen but I will randomize the character that you will play for each game in the set.

Champion receives a 2000 Wii Points Card and a userbar!!

Remember that in this round, a loss will mean you are eliminated from the competition.

Match Rules:
- Best of 5, 3 stock/7 min games, NO items
- MUST use your registered main unless opponent agrees that a change is okay
- Stage selection is on player's choice
- Each player may BAN 1 stages
- Cannot fight on the same stage more than once
- No Stalling (No chain-grabbing/infinites past 300%)
