This guide is not fully complete at the moment, but parts 1 and 2 are in the posts below. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, OR CONCERNS, YOU ARE ALLOWED YOU TO POST THEM HERE. Credit & Thanks Pioneering research by X-Act, Peterko, and loadingNOW gave us insight into the operation of the PRNG and how its results were used to govern in-game actions. Heavy use was made of SCV's implementation of the reverse PRNG, which was independently derived by X-Act and tsanth. =Jonny= spent countless hours scouring and translating Japanese articles to expand our knowledge of the DPPt PRNG specifics, including the method for generating egg PIDs. Wild Eep delved deep into Pokémon generation, allowing us to capture perfect Pokémon with ease. OmegaDonut worked tirelessly to refine the process for hatching perfect Pokémon. Testers and researchers such as LightningFusion, Syberia, bearsfan092, Pink, and many others worked through spotty information and came back with real, verifiable results. In short, this product is the culmination of the hard efforts of a large group of people, without whom none of these these articles could exist. Additional thanks to * Hen * for image work on the guide. Thank you all! For an indepth guide, please visit Smogon In-Game Mechanics The Basics: 1. First of all, what is RNG Abuse, and how is it useful? RNG stands for Random Number Generator. This pretty much controls the entire game, because it determines things like whether or not your pokemon is shiny, the nature it has, the ability it has, and the Individual Values (IV’s) your poke obtains. It is possible to manipulate the RNG for our own personal desires, hence the “abuse”. We can control what we get, and for people with the understanding of RNG Abuse, we do control it. 2. Is it easy? I am not going to lie obviously, so I have to tell you that it is not easy to do the first couple of times. RNG Abuse requires, as I have said before in my voting thread, a LOT of patience and more so understanding. If you do not have one of these it will be very difficult for you, and you will give up fast. If I am beginning to scare you, then I am doing my job correctly 3. So do I need to know anything before I begin? Ummm, let’s see….. DUH! THESE ARE THE BASICS PEOPLES. OBVIOUSLY YOU NEED TO KNOW STUFFS, but since the first part only pertains to getting shinies / the desired nature/ability, you won’t need this stuff juuuust yet. (So that means I don’t get to torture you right now at this point *growls*) Last edited by The Mole; 11-17-2009 at 05:00 AM. |

Requirements for Breeding Shiny Pokemon:
1. RNG Reporter (Note: you must have windows for this software to work. the results for mac users are unknown. please follow the directions for download on the link) 2. Your Trainer ID and your Secret ID, which is a 5 digit number not shown on your trainer card. To find your SID, you can either use an Action Replay, which is probably the easiest way, or if you don’t have one, you can go catch a wild shiny. If you plan on finding a wild shiny, it will be a real pain in the ass for you because THE SHINY CANNOT BE CHAINED, TRADED TO YOU, OR BRED. IT MUST BE A RANDOM ENCOUNTER IN THE WILD. After you have done this go here to find what you must do next. I recommend you read it before jumping to conclusions because you will more than likely get confused later on. recently, a new feature has been added to rng reporter called “Chain to SID”, courtesy of the epix mingot, which allows a person to find their SID if they manage to chain at least 4-8 shiny pokemon, so non-ar owners you are lucky 3. The Happiness Checker Application in Poketch (#6): this can be obtained from a woman in Eterna City’s Pokecenter 4. The Coin Flip Application in Poketch (#15): this can be obtained in the Valor Resort Area (go south from the house where a woman lost her key, and you will see a ridge where you can use rock climb. go down there and the man in the house will give you it) 5. Two parents that are able to breed together (this isn’t like an ar where you can force parents to do each other >.>) It is very important that none of the parents are holding an everstone, because since you are able to choose natures and abilities, it is not required) Part 1, Step 1 (or should I say steps): 1. First of all, make sure you only have 5 pokemon in your party, including the 2 pokemon that you wish to breed together. Remember the “no everstone rule”. 2. If you do not have an action replay, you will be required to go to a patch of grass where pokemon above level 50 can be obtained. If you do have an ar, then you will need the code “IV Checker”, which can be obtained here. 3. The poketch application must be set to the one BEFORE the happiness checker (#5). 4. If you have done this all and are at the area of where you can catch a pokemon, Save. Part 1, Step 2: Alright this step is very simple. All you need to do is reset your game after you have saved. Try to get to the continue screen (shown below) as fast as you can, and please please pleeeease know the exact time (not to the second though) of when you hit continue. Oh and I am talking about the time on your DS clock when you hit continue, so you might wanna sync your DS clock to your computer clock or any other clock with a clear read of the seconds. ![]() Part 1, Step 3: Catch a wild pokemon. Remember the specifications for all you non-ar owners. Part 1, Step 4: 1. Open up RNG Reporter and click on the box labeled “DPPt Seed Finder” All fields highlighted in yellow must be followed/ filled in.
3.
![]() Wow didn’t realize it said the same thing I did. ![]() 4. ![]() This is pretty self-explanatory. All you need to know here is that if you took a little time to get to the continue screen, your delay may be real high. That is OK, because for now it does not apply so much. (reasonable delays tend to range from 590- around 620). If you don’t get back any results, then you most likely filled in the date and time wrong, or the poke’s info. Part 1, Step 5:
After pressing OK, you will see your “Seed (Hex)” box get filled in. That means you did it right (OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG). Now, select “Method” on the top, left-hand corner and follow what the pic. says ![]() I didn’t wanna type this whole thing, so I copied and pasted xD
Part 1, Step 6: ![]() Btw, you guys should know that if you uncheck the shiny only box, you will get a LOT more results when you hit generate. If you do this it is recommended you go to the bottom of the middle column, where it says “Nature” and pick a wanted nature. After doing this, hit generate again, and it will narrow results down to only the specified nature. (P.S. if the pokemon you are breeding can have 2 different abilities, go to “Dex/ IV Check” on the bottom right. Find your pokemon in the top drop-down menu and click on it. On the right, it will tell you what ability 0 isand what ability 1 is. Press OK after that, go to "Ability" on the top right, and click on ability 0 or 1) Part 1, Step 7: 1. ![]() Again, this explains itself. If you think that the number of poketch taps needed to do on the happiness checker is way too high, you can always start over from Step 2 (trust me, it’s not all that hard to try again.) 2. Now that you know how many happiness app taps and coin flip taps you need to do, proceed to do them. Just so you know, 1 happiness double tap means when you double tap the application in a blank area and the pokemon “jump”. Be sure not to mess up, or else you will have to start all over again. Coin flips always must be done AFTER happiness taps. ![]() ![]() Part 1, Last Step: After you have done the taps and flips, immediately go to the pokemon daycare. Give your two parents to the old lady and ride your bike outside until the daycare man is holding an egg. If you plan to soft reset for IV’s, be sure to save before talking to the man. After receiving your egg, hatch and verify that it is indeed a shiny Note: using the quick egg in daycare and fast egg hatch ar codes to get your egg and hatch it fast will not affect the results, so feel free to use the codes If you are having some difficulty and it would help to have a visual demonstration, watch this youtube video created by thetorsoboy:

Alright so the first part is done, and it’s finally time to move onto the second. You should know that possibleside effects of part two are headache, the urge to chuck your ds at a wall, curse like you’ve never before, and severe hating of Alsabino. But seriously, if you don’t get this section, you’ll most likely have those side effects, and also I have to tell you that there is NOT any video for this section =O Remember when I said to you guys that there will be things you will have to learn when you get this far? Well here is that stuffs (again I copied and pasted =P):
I am assuming you can figure out what target time is by just reading above. As for delay, it is however many seconds it takes for you to get from the intro pokemon screen (where it says pokemon, Nintendo, game freak inc, etc) to the screen where the continue option is, times 60. All the note is that is that the delay will always be either odd or even on your game. This really doesn’t mean anything, but if you have some kind of problem with odd or even numbers, you can put in a gameboy game in the gameboy slot to change the delay. It isn’t known how or why it changes it, but it most likely just does. ![]() This pic explains pretty much everything.
I’m going to come out straight and tell you that you don’t need to know these two things. You have already used initial seeds, and you will figure out what a frame is when you actually do the next couple of steps. Last edited by The Mole; 11-17-2009 at 05:08 AM. |

Requirements for Breeding Perfect IV’d eggs:
1. RNG Reporter, which I gave the link for in the beginning 2. A clock with a clear seconds reading. This is very important in this section of the guide. Part 2, Step 1: The Calibration Phase Some of you are probably thinking because this is maybe the part that confused you. This step is not as hard at seems. On smogon its pretty hard to understand with their fancy vocabulary but in this n00b guide all I will tell you is that you need to figure out how long it takes you to get from the screen with the company info to the continue option. You will have to do this AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. Ex: for me it takes roughly 12 seconds wit ma button jamming skills If you are uncertain what your seconds number is when you do this step, don’t hesitate to redo the step 2 or more times, to make your uncertainty certainty. ß I can use fancy vocab too ![]() The calibration steps are just a review of what you did in part one, but you stop when you enter the wild poke’s info and press ok to find the initial seed because it tells you the delay you got and the seconds (note: the seconds are NOT how long it took you to get from the points I said. They are the seconds into the minute. I didn’t realize this for a while after I started this stuffs and it made me pretty confused.) Here’s another example: A person takes 15 seconds to get from the two points, but the seconds shown on RNG reporter are 57. THE 57 IS THE SECONDS INTO THE MINUTE, NOT HOW LONG IT TOOK YOU TO GET BETWEEN THE TWO THE POINTS) repeated myself lots here to make the guide even n00bier ![]() ![]() ![]() Part 2, Step 2: Target Time In order to obtain perfect eggs, you will need to start your game AT AN EXACT SECOND INTO A MINUTE! It may not seem so hard, but wait until I say that you have to also hit your delay exactly as well, and this is not so easy, believe meh. The easiest way to do all of it is by taking note of the seconds it takes you between the points and then working from there. 1. Have a clock with a seconds reading open. I believe the best would be the time on your computer, since it is based on internet time. 2. Synch your DS and the clock if you haven’t done so already, and the seconds have to match as well, so be careful. There is a little bit more to this step, but for now this is mostly all you need to know J Part 2, Step 3 (not really a step but whatevs): Alright, believe it or not, we are basically half way done. The steps and things before take up a big chunk of all of this. There is a new requirements list here. Don’t forget to skip it: 1. RNG Reporter obviously 2. Rare candies, and lots of em for non-ar owners cuz you’ll need these to level up the baby poke and verify ivs. The most efficient way to check IVs: Metalkid’s IV Checker 3. Compatible parents; you want for the parents to have as many of the IV’s wanted on the child as possible 4. A clock with a clear seconds reading, duh 5. A journal and a page in it saying that you have caught or defeated a pokemon Last edited by The Mole; 11-17-2009 at 05:10 AM. |

Part 2, Step 4: Frame Calibration
Now you have to know what frame your game is on when you save. Tbh, knowing what frame is, is not necessary. If you do want to know though, it is a number from 1- who knows what =P that you land on every time you start the game (or was it when you save the game???? lol doesn’t matter). You need to land on an exact frame as well when you SR for your final resulting egg. Now we have learned that you need to land on an exact delay, seconds into a minute, and frame. The steps below are to help you find the frame you are saved on: 1. Put your two parents in the daycare 2. Bike outside until the guy is holding an egg 3. Save in front of him (thanks to a tip from Moley, it helps to saves ASA the buneary enters the green tunnel. Idk the exact reason, but it does, SO DO IT!) 4. Take the egg, hatch it, and make sure the baby has the right nature and ability 5. If the baby has all the right stuffs, turn off your game, without saving 6. Turn on your DS and set its date to 2 days after. Doing this makes sure that the journal comes up when you start your game 7. Listen very carefully here. When you continue your game and the journal comes up, cancel it and TALK TO THE MAN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND GET THE EGG ASAP. This is very important because this is the main step in finding the frame. 8. Open up RNG Reporter and where it says “Method” open the drop-down menu and select Breeding DPPt 9. Go catch a wild pokemon after the egg hatches and, on the reporter, open seed finder. Enter the wild pokemon’s information and select find, then ok, like we did in part 1. Now, just directly go and press “Generate”. You will notice a tons and tons of frames (in number order of course) with IV’s and other stuff next to them. 10. Figure out your baby poke’s IV’s and find them on the list. If you see the letters A or B, that means it’s an IV that got transferred directly from its parent. EX: Parent A has something like 17/24/31/8/29/30, parent B has 30/14/26/21/30/16, and then the child gets 25/20/A (which is 31)/10/B (which is 30)/16. So because of this, it is highly recommended that you right each of the parents IV’s down before putting them in the daycare, because most likely you will forget what parent had what IV later on. 11. Once you have found out what frame it is, do steps 7-10 over again a couple times to see if you consistently get the same frame. The frame you get most often should be the one you use Part 2, Step 5: Choosing an IV Spread 1. This is probably the most fun part in the guide, cuz its your own choice in what you want, and the best part is, if you are breeding a special attacker, you have the option of getting whatever hidden power u want!!! WOOT WOOT!! Select “DPPt Time finder” on RNG Reporter. It is below “DPPt Seed Finder”. 2. Input the date and month; doesn’t matter what you put in. In the seconds box, put the number of seconds it takes you to get from the companies to continue (it is advisable that you include the time it takes to get from: here ŕ here ![]() 3. In min/max frame put the frame the number you got most in Frame Calibration. In min/max delays put a reasonable range, something maybe like 590-620. If you tend to get a high delay a lot of the time, you can put these numbers increased by 10 (Ex: 600-630 or 610-640) 4. Where the stats are listed on the right, choose a spread you want. If there is some stat you don’t care for leave it blank. If you need a certain hidden power, enter the right sequence of 31’s and 30’s (Ex: the highest combo of IV’s you can get for hidden power electric @70 is 31/31/31/30/31/31) You can use this hidden power calculator to find the combo you need. After wards click on generate. 5. Copied from smogon: Frame from the frame Calibration Phase is: 6 Parents IVs: B: 31 / 31 / 31 / x / 31 / 31 A: 31 / 31 / 31 / x / 31 / x Baby's desired IVs: 31 / 31 / 31 / x / 31 / 31 Year: 2009 Month: April (4) Using the time finder, we first searched for results on Frame 6, 8, 10, and 12 before finally finding a suitable target frame and target time: SEED: 710F026A DATE: 2009/04/24 TIME: 15:02:15 DELAY: 609 FRAME: 12 SPREAD: A/A/A/20/31/31 This spread should give us a baby with IVs 31 / 31 / 31 / 20 / 31 / 31. The things needed to know are in blue. Where it says we first searched for results on frame 6, 8, 10, and 12, it means that when they tried generating a result for frame 6, no reasonable one came up. So then they tried a different frame (you can do this btw, but the frame must be higher and either odd or even according to your frame; sorry for not mentioning it earlier)

Part 2, Final Step (times flies when you are abusing a pokemon game to meet your selfish needs):
1. The most time-taking part imo. What you have to do now is look at the time and date the result you chose said (Ex: in the above pic its kind of blurry but you can make out that it shows the date as 2009 09 05 and the time as 14:02:17.). Next, set your DS’s date to the date ur result says. Set the time to to the one it says but one minute before the minute specified (so if you had 14:02:17, you would set your ds to 14:01:00 exactly when your external clock reaches the next minute) kind of confusing I know. 2. Next, ready ur DS so that when the clock reaches the next minute, you can IMMEDIATELY hit A and go all out and hit a as fast as you possibly can. Just remember though, the seconds must match. 3. Alright it is a bit tricky here. At this point you should be on your journal. Listen carefully here. Whatever frame your game is set onto, subtract that from the frame you entered onto RNG Reporter and divide the result by two. (Frame entered onto RNG Reporter- Game frame) ¸ 2= # of journal flips By journal flips I mean that that is how many flips you need to do when your journal pops up after continuing the game. Note: a flip is not any old page. The page must either say captured a pokemon, or defeated a pokemon. Traded pokemon and defeating pokes over wifi do NOT count. 4. When finished with that, press START, talk to the daycare man as fast as you possibly can, and collect the egg. Hatch it and check its IV’s. If it has the desired IV’s, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FIRST RNG ABUSED PERFECT EGG!!! If not move on . . . 5. Ugh more reading, but hey I feel the same writing this thing. Your obviously here because you did not succeed, and that’s ok. This is advanced stuffs =P You probably didn’t get the right delay. You can check the frame and delay you got by catching a wild poke after you hatch your fail egg. Just repeat #8 onward from the frame calibration step. It will tell you the frame you landed on, and if you are close, that means you are doing a pretty decent job, just do numbers 1-4 again (this step not the frame calibration one). If you aren’t close and you have no idea what you did wrong, check over what you did. If you still can’t find your error, you can always ask and get help here. WOOT I found a 2 part vid by bearsfan for this thang! Also, if you are like me and can’t stand the sloppiness of this part, don’t hesitate to tell me and I will e-mail you the word document I used to copy and paste from. Obviously it is in a neater format. I’m serious so don’t be laughing >.>

IT'LL COME WHEN I FEEL LIKE IT! but if you really must know, I have not mastered this technique yet so i cannot teach it yet. If you want to beat me to it, you can go to smogon and read the info (its a little under halfway down the page), or watch this video made by bearsfan (videos are back ):Last edited by Alsabino; 09-28-2009 at 05:01 PM. |
