Well its bout that time I, King of Boos start a singles hitlist for the very first time. Not to mention its going toward helping all you minions out there in need of assistance in Brawl.

My job is to take note of your brawling tactics and tell you what your pros and cons are. The wins/losses is not a concern for me as I dont intend of pwning in every match. I'm here to help not discourage up coming brawlers.

Now with that in mind I'll open my doors and accept those who are in need of an evaluation, and no I wont turn you into a lovely painting like that pesky plumber behind me dome.


Portrait Descriptions

DustinR- Well from what I've seen in the ten matches or so...you need to cover ALOT of new ground.

Defense- I never once seen you shield. EVER. You have to protect yourself every now and then to avoid getting hit. Air/side dodging is also recommended on adding to your game. Just be cautious of when you use it otherwise it can be easy to read and get punished.

Combos- You didnt have much of a combo plan to me. Use Pika's grabs for basic damage buildup. Up tilt is a good juggler and front air can be a start up in continuing an assault. TJolt is good for spacing so use that more often as you approach.

KO'ing- The dsmash is not a good way to KO with especially for a Pika user. It can be DI'ed out of (Directional Influence). This means when you're getting hit, you can still control where you end up at. I suggest using Pika's front smash, thunder, up smash and nair. You never did use that attack either throughout your trial against me.

Mindgames- Its very important that you dont become predictable. I took note of how you recovered when I sent you flying. Avoid using skullbash blindingly where you wont reach the edge. Opponents can easily hit you where you're most vunerable when trying to get back on the stage in the center. Instead, QA to the edge or simply skullbash to it in a short vertical distance.

Soulboy300- You were okay with Lucario, but I have a few ways on helping you get even better with him.

Defense- For me, you're kind of an easy target to hit. Even more easy in the air when I'm grounded. I easily predicted your movement while I continued my assault on you. Perfect air dodge is key along with spacing away from your opponent as you recover. STAY AWAY from a character charging a smash as you fly into them. Unperfect timing will result into a KO.

Combos- You had some sort of plan for racking up the damage but as a Lucario user myself, I know ways for you to get the damage up faster even when your damage is low. Up tilt is a great way to start the juggling. His up and down throws are also starting ways to get the combo's going. You do know the basic AA<FP so thats good. Try to utilize FP more often when the percent is low. It can turn into a short CG for some opponents.

KO'ing- You had some trouble with your KO's as I began to notice. Front smash is of course the best way to land a kill. It shocked me when you didnt use it much in the earlier fights. Front smash is your friend and you're gonna need it for spacing and damage building. All I can say here is that his bair and dair would be your next two choices to use as a finisher. Front grab too if your damage is high giving you that knockback power.

Mindgames- It could be better. Jus dont get predictable with the dodging. I predicted the exact moment of your dodge...and you know what happened there. lol Use it only when you need to avoid an attack, not for movement.

TFL- Not much to say since you were pretty decent overall. All of your characters of choice were above average. No need for important improvement since this whole thread is mainly about helping brawlers that need extra help. So you played well w/o obvious flaws.

Terms2k1- Well the first, I didnt know what was goin on with you but I took note on the rematch that since the first match ended rather...short.

Defense- Let's see, you were relatively easy to hit. When I think about it, I dont recall you ever shield grabbing me nor using the shield to block attacks much. Dont go too crazy with the repetitive spot dodging. No need to be too fearful. It's best to just simply jump/air dodge whenever someone comes back from a KO. I suggest rolling only to evade. Some dodging can get punished with ease and avoid trapping yourself to the ledge by dodging also. You're forcing yourself to get sent off the stage.

Combos- Some of your moves were pretty basic. They kinda got combo breaked when you attempted to start the damage flow goin. For ppl like Ike and Falco, I wouldnt recommend their laggiest of moves to build up the damage. Use there most quickest attacks first then you'll be ready to get that SMASH in.

KO'ing- You need some work in this area. Most of your potential KO'ing moves weren't stale, it's just that you had a difficult time landing them when you needed to. An opponent with high amounts of damage are sure to stay clear of the opposing characters KO moves. I was well aware to avoid you when needed and punish you where you failed to land that KO'ing attack. Watch out for the shield and predict aerial movement and you'll get that stock taken away alot easier.

Mindgames- I adapted to your play style a bit TOO soon. Switch up your movement and you'll be able to throw your opponents off. One way to up your MG is awkward movement that helps you along the fight. Doing patterned dodges is not a good idea or else you will be read like a book too often.

Flyingwolf- You play well but I bet that egg can give you tips as well on how to be alot better.

Defense- You have great air dodgin timing. You never fail for my fake outs where you think I'm about to attack but dont. Good spacing too. The one thing you have to work on is your ledge recovery. Most of the time, you simply get up. Try switching up from time to time or simply jump away from the ledge and attack/dodge.

Combo'ing- Not much to say here. You have good combo tactics when it comes to Pikachu. Use good use of his up tilt and grabbing so you're good to go in this area.

KO'ing- Same as above. It was hard for me to DI out Pika's down smash and I got KO'ed as a result of that. Not a stranger when it comes to thunder haxxing. So nothing bad here.

Mindgames- I honestly dont see much of the MG. You're simply a straightforward brawler where you just play. Perhaps more movement that cant be predicted like the ledge tactics as I stated before. But other than that, you'll get your MG's up in a matter of practice.

Riakario- You did good later on as we played but I'ma give my tips for as I took note of your style.

Defense- You were a bit hard to hit at some times. Had good spacin as well. Just need to lay off the dodging a bit is all. Mainly for Lucario. Very hard to hit while in the air since you're completely random when landing. So thats good.

Combo'ing- I liked the combo you did with Yoshi when you first used him. A shame you only used him once. But that was surprisingly good. Very random with him too. For Lucario, use the up tilt a bit more to start the combo chain going. Other than that, you'll get the damage up alot faster.

KO'ing- This is probably the area where you need a bit more work on. Front smash is your friend when it comes to Lucario. And it is harder when the percent is low just avoid getting KO'ed first when the match begins.

Mindgames- You can be a bit hard to read at times. The time where its easy to predict movement is your dodging. Most of the time you smash, roll and repeat when the damage gets high for a KO. Try not to make that into a habit and change your style during matches.

Kill- You could have done a little bit better overall but here are some pointers that you should take note of.

Defense- You were kinda easy to hit most of the time and easy to counter react whenever you were on the ledge. I suggest not to make a move so quickly whenever possible since most of the time, you went for an attack as soon as you were coming back on the stage. Even when I wasnt around you at the time you still attacked. Try jumping away from the ledge while attack from time to time to make yourself not so easy to be read. Also avoid dodging so frequent. It causes yourself an obvious pattern.

Combo'ing- I didnt see much here. A few when you were Link but not that much. You want to get to a point where your opponent cant counter react and get away from you when you start your combo chain. For Link up tilt more to start the juggling along with Lucario as well. Also Lucario's pivot grab isnt all that great so it's best to just use grab normally or grab dash.

KO'ing- You had a difficult time in this area also. Had a difficult time catching me whenever you came back when my damage was high. You didnt stale your KO'ing moves but you just had a hard time landing a move, let alone getting into another one of my combo starters. Try to read movement before countering with your finishers.

Mindgames- I sorta didnt see much at all. I got use to your playstyle a little TOO easy. Try to be a bit more aggressive and dont make yourself open. This area is to make your movement out of the ordinary so that other players wont know what you're going to do in advance.

Catfish1- Good to see your lagged got takin care of. One game wouldnt had helped much but here's some info I'm gonna give to you.

Defense- I had no problem hitting you most of the time. You do have above average side dodgin. You should practice your movement in the air so you wont get juggled so easily. Other than that you're okay.

Combo'ing- I dont recall you ever layin a combo on me. Try stringin together dif moves to make it flow more. As a Ness user, PK Fire is the best way to get the damage up when the percent is low. Dont be afraid to use it again when it hits. You want to trap your opponent in it so the damage and build up further. Just use it at a time to counter, dont get predictable on it.

KO'ing- I think about 80% of the time, you only KO'ed me with the back throw. Dont stale it before the percent is high enough for a KO. There's a reason you have up down or right as throws too. It's pointless back throwin at 0%. Use the bat a bit more but space correctly and it'll hit. Ness' spike is an instant OHKO so be sure to time that stomp just right also. Be sure to not let it backfire and make you SD in the process.

Mindgames- This needs work. I was able to read you more in the second match. Being able to predict when you would roll and what you would do on the ledge. Change up your movement from time to time and it'll throw your opponents off more often.

True_Blue- Read my brawl tips NOW!

Defense- You're gonna have to work on this part more than anything. For a Sonic user, you should be difficult to hit bein the fastest character in the game. I dont recall you ever attempting a spot dodge but if you did, should might do that a bit more. It can be better than dodging at times since I was able to read you were going to at certain times. Same thing goes for air dodging. Normally you dair to come to the ground so that prevents you from attempting to avoid bein hit. You dont always have to crash down to the ground cuz you'll instantly get shield grabbed out of that.

Combo'ing- I saw the ground combos there when it came for low damage but Sonic does have some decent air game combos. Use that spring to reach opponents in the air. It's fast goin and can be unexpected at times. Did good with the side specials but could use down b for the combo startin too.

KO'ing- Since Sonic doesnt have that much power and most of his KO'in moves are predictable try to fake out your smashes and read an opponents moves before reacting to finish them. There were times you could have got me with a few spring < uair while I had high damage while airborne, but instead you stayed on the ground. Sonic should be the character to annoy and not give any breathing room. Just use his speed for smarts too and the KO'ing should be easy.

Mindgames- Didnt see much of this since I got comfortable playin you and I wasnt worried bout you too much. Dont react so fast when it comes to the ledge. Try edge stalling a bit before coming back on the stage. Also dont attempt a homing attack all the time when you try coming back. Those results can lead to a home attack to SD's or shield attack counters. Another thing you should do is dash at random times (#1 dasher) and side b canceling to throw off opponents. Get this mastered and you'll truly be a speed demon.

DarkSonic- Read below and you'll know what to do next time in a brawl. (Been awhile since I did this so hopefully I'll know what I'm talkin bout) €_€

Defense- Your had pretty decent dodging. You waited to shield grab when the spacing was distant and that's a good thing for using a character like Ganondorf. There wasnt much overly dodging so you werent abusive much here.

Combo'ing- After your assault, you waited til i attacked you and continued it. Playing the waiting game works instead of bein overly aggresive. Jus be sure to not give your opponents a chance to counterreact or give them breathing room to recooperate.

KO'ing- Some of yor attempts to KO were sorta obvious and resulted in another combo string. It's okay to do weaker moves before attemtping to smash. Take your time and do that finisher when the times right.

Mindgames- The only MG's I saw was the waitin for your opponent to make the approach. This works sometimes but for people that can spam projectiles (last match we had), that wont do you any good. You're only way to stop that is to close in on your opponent and go from there.

Soulless Pizza- Take note of your mistakes and you'll improve once you read what I have to offer.

Defense- You were too easy to hit. Try to predict attacks so you can perform shield grabbing more often. Side dodging is also a good way to avoid damage. Jus be able to know when an attack is coming so you can counter. Be sure to misdirect your air movement also. Make so opponents will guess wrong when you land.

Combo'ing- Definately need some improvement here. You need to be alot more aggresive in your playstyle. Be persistant and chain your attacks that's unexscapeable. For a Kirby user, most of ther combos start off with grabbing. Try that whenever the percent is low jus dont get predictable when attempting to grab.

KO'ing- Smash alot more when you're Kirby. His fsmash is more than enough power to deliever that final blow. His hammer is good as well. Use it for an approach or for edgeguarding. As for Sonic, be able to get a charged smash in that'll draw opponents in. Be precise in landing that bair too.

Mindgames- You need alot of this to throw opponents off in matches. Approach while having your back turned with Kirby since his bair is lagless. For Sonic, he has quite a few AT's to get your opponent guessing. Shielding out of his side b helps. Running can also work. Dont stone in the air all the time when you're Kirby since that's quite an obvious move for him. Switch it up every now and then is key here.

Mario Metroid Fan- Read my guide and you'll improve in no time.

Defense- You were kinda easy to hit when it came for low percentages. Try to predict when moves are gonna come and think before you counter react when you're under attack. Get more of the shield grab goin to perfect yourself from bein hit.

Combo'ing- This could be improved. I dont recall ever bein in a situation where I needed to get away from your chain attacks. For a Lucario user, force palm is great for combos at low percents. The character depends on how many you can perform in a row. Up tilt is good too and well as his many aerial attacks.

KO'ing- As Lucario, jus stay alive at high percentages is key. KO them before they KO you first. Long as you keep that up, you shouldnt have a problem here. Keeping that aura power is what you're gonna need to survive.

Mindgames- Try not to attack all the time when climbing back to the ledge. Makes you more predictable as you can see I punished you whenever I knew you were gonna attack without thinking first. Double team only when you know an attack is coming. It doesnt have a long hitbox so it makes yourself vunerable when it fails. Avoid doing the same patterns throughout the entire match and change up to confuse your opponents.
