Mario Guide ![]() Mario is a very simple character, hes not cheap with his moves like someone like marth and hes not going to send you flying out of nowhere like ike, but he is a force of his own and should not be taken lightly. His moveset allows him to be both offence and defence, able 2 withstand damage and dish it out. Most of his damage is linked in combos, and he is very technacial with his K.O. since he has over like three ways to kill people who try to recover. Land moveset Mario land moveset isn't really something, he has two moves very capabile of knocking out foes, but one must be aimed just right to inflict more damage AAA: this at the best should be used as a change of speeds move, sneak this in every once in a while to get some damage StrongA: best used to send your foe back, as in you got way 2 close, sends farther than the finishing move of AAA SmashF: if not his best smash, pretty dam close, this can do extra damage if hit at the right point, kinda like marth's point of sword does more damage, if you can hit them with the fire and not his hand, it sends them ALOT farther, its your best option to send foes flying running A: useful but shouldn't be overused, otherwise it'll get easy to dodge upA: this can be use 2 start a couple of combos, but only when tour foe's damage ratio is low, ok move overall SmashUP: not as bad as you think it is, it really has good range when timed right and can cancel certain other Dair attacks, shouldn't be used to K.O. useless their ratio is high DownA: hmm an ok move, can start a few combos, helps you avoid certain attacks, a change of pace move SmashDown: this is his other K.O. move, good when foes try to roll behind you, it has less reach than his SmashF though, so mix between the two so that your not caught off guard, really i used this more than his SmashF truely Grabs well his grabs are better used to just start combos, and his Btoss only k.o's when their ratio is high, so its best just to bug your foe Air Assult his air attacks may look weak, but they sure as hell aren't, try to mix in some air attacks in combat Nair: basic attack, not alot of damage, but has little or no lag so it can catch some people off guard and deal like 10% so do not forget this move Fair: one of his three ways to gimp people, must be timed just right and if you do your foes will plummet down.... after you swing your punch your wide open so make sure your gonna hit! Bair: possible to be his best air move, just the fact that it does about 14%, strikes really fast(about no lag), and can be followed up by another Bair, at the low ratios its best to build it up, when they're in the high you can use this to K.O. them, go figure Uair: hmmm its the only air move to aim up, its really fast and lets you follow it up, not bad, but at times Nair is better, really good in combos, its has little knock out at low %, however this allows it to have a long combo which can lead to a k.o. Dair: the old mario tornado, does about 13%, somewhere around there if each hit lands, sends them a little high but shouldn't be used as a knockout Specials his specials are better than they look, in fact all his moves are better than they look B: fireballs, best used to interfear with what your foes is doing.... very spammable.... sadly, but useless used right its easy to counter sideB: his cape might be his best special other than his UpB only for the fact that recovers, his cape reflects all projectailes, and if it hits a foe they change directions, think about that, imagine hiting a foe when they are trying to recover with the cape. they turn around and most of the time can't recover, keep this move in mind, it also lifts you alittle in the air, but only when you do it once upB: his recover move, he super jumps and hitting the foe will make coins appear, the last coin will send them flying, but only that coin, best used just to recover or damage edge hoggers downB: the newest move: FLUDD, this is another move that changes the pace, however its very useful to stop foe's combos (or attacks) and stop foes from recovering, but the other two are better to use for that than FLUDD, charge it up and it reaches real far....it has mult uses Combos alright i got a couple of combos 2 give now punching air: pretty much when ur fo has low ratio, use upA twice, then u can follow up with a upsmash or another upA, i prefer 2 go in the air and start hitting them with Bair, then follow up with a Fair, but change ur moves so they keep guessing flying: when on the edge, trying using the cape in the other direction, this help stop people from recovering and once he swings his cape, he grabs the edge right away, very nice move 2 use break: just hit foes with a fully charged fuldd then hit them with your cape or Fair for the k.o. do this when they are far off the edge, if not hit with fludd, dont worry, just cape them rushing water:this is very simple but useful, charge your FLUDD and if the foe is on edge, jump off and hit them with the water, they will b forced off, and you'll b able 2 hog the edge or repel them away Current: very simple move to do, charge ze FLUDD and while ur foe is trying to recover, jump off the stage and use the fludd to repel them, u should drift to the edge if you timed it right, useful way 2 use the fludd Firewall: now this isn't a combo, more of a... trick, short hop by the edge and use B, if you are at the right spot at the right height, the fireball will wont hit the edge, but if there is someone holding on or trying to grab on, they will be denialed, all keep falling Wavewall: simple, charge your fludd, and when an foe tries to attack u from the air, hit them with the fludd, the attack will be canceled and you'll have a chance to counterstrike btw i will be editing this and adding combo weekly

Well, being a Mario user, ( a good one if I do say so myself =P) this guide can be really helpful to people who are just starting off with Mario.
Though not to brag, I knew most of this becuase I've mained him since SSB64, and I've been good with him ever since, so it's only natural lol Really good guide though Ike93! Good Job!
