Tier List

Thread Info: I am making this thread to show everyone the tier list for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I will also attempt to tell main reasons on why they characters of the game are grouped as so. Remember, the list is in order from best to worst, according to brawl experts. Well, here it is.

S Tier

These characters are the top of the game! They have good match up's making it hard to beat them. Most of them have some sort of advantage, such as Meta Knights combo ability, or Falco's and Dedede's chain grabbing, or Snake's ability to camp and DI very well.

A tier

In this tier section, these are characters that are quite skilled in brawl. They are just not quite ready to be in the S tier though. Their match up's are pretty good, as they were able to make it high enough. It seems to me that Marth, G&W, and IC's have the most potential to making it to S tier, lets wait to see in the future.

B Tier

This tier is full of characters that have strong points and weak points. They have some potential in playing in the big boys like the S and A tiers. Surprisingly, DK is a good counter against MK, so its not like these characters are totally worthless. They are good mains for people who dont like top tiers because people lways say things such as "Tier Whore!" and such.

C Tier

C Tier, people sometimes consider this the start of the low tiers. Some characters in this section can be good under some conditions. Wi-Fi for example, Wolf and Fox are good Wi-Fi characters because Wolf is powerful and has moves that can be a bit overused, and Fox has down air combos that usually dont work offline. People like Sheik can use forward tilt lock that a lot of people that dont know how to DI properly cannot get out of. This section has an okay bunch of characters with okay match up's.

D Tier

In this section it seems to be characters with bad recoveries, but some ability to kill at low percents. Bowser as we all know is strong, so is Ike and Charizard. Zelda on the other hand has very good range with her dens fire, she also has ability to kill if you sweet spot with her smashes or forward/back airs. It seems that the main problem with them is the fact that its hard to get off moves like sweet spots, or Bowsers and Ikes slow forward smashes. These are characters that couldnt make it to C tiers because of multiple problems, although it seems to me that some of them should be in lower places... On a side note, PT has an advantage, im sure it would be hard for your opponent to adjust to the changes in playing style and characters between his 3 pokemon.

E Tier

First off, I feel that this section should be switched with the D tier, but thats my opinion. I guess these characters are low, because some of them, such as Ness and Lucas can be easily gimped while trying to recover with their PK thunders. Yoshi is missing a third jump, although his second one is pretty good, and Mario's third jump isnt very effective when he tries to recover. This sections overall problem is trying to get back to the stage, which is a big part of the Smash Series. On the up side, they arent the lowest of tiers, there is always someone worse in some way.

F Tier

This tier section is the bottom of the barrel, otherwise, the reject characters. The characters people try to main specifically because they are influenced by the fact that they are the worst characters in the game and people want to prove that they are good. They are consisted of all sorts of problems such as poor recovery, very little priority, nd lack of killing moves. Of course some of them have some good qualities, but they mostly have bad ones and arent very good. They have bad match ups and get raped by the more used characters in the high tier section.
