Pros:
Spinning Suplex is easy to use to get side-stage KOs
Fastest character in the game.
All his Special Attacks can be used for recovery.
It s possible to use A attacks even after his Up-B Special, "Spring jump".
Powerful Final Smash.
Posesses a great Reverse-Meteor Smash.
All his B attacks look the same, you can confuse your opponent.
Great collection of aerial moves, easy to combo and to break a Smash Ball with.
A-A-A combo has a good knockback after the last A.
Powerful Back-air, Combolicious Front-air

Cons:
Too light; Ike can K.O. Sonic at 20% with a full charged side-smash.
His gift is also his curse: Hard to master his speed, expect lots of Self-Destructs.
Final Smash requires Cirurgical-precision finger-tapping for best control.
After 2nd-Jump SpinDashing, it is required 2 seconds to perform the 3rd jump.

Homing Attack Cancel: After starting a Homing Attack, press B again quickly to perform the attack quicker

SpinCharge Cancel: While performing a Spin Charge, hold Control Stick Down and jump to cancel the Charge

SpinDash Jump: After Spin Dashing / Charging, release Control Stick Down and press A to jump while dashing.

Wall Jump: After getting near a wall, press the control stick away from the wall.

Long SpinDash Jump: Charge your SpinDash / SpinCharge, then release B and press A, Y or X VERY quickly.

AirDashing / SkyRoll: Spindash / Charge UP a slope, which angles and ends.

Stutter Walking Charged Punch: Press Control Stick away from your opponent, and quickly tap the C-Stick towards him.

InstaHog: Walk off a ledge and quickly do a backwards half-circle, like a Hadouken.

Known Combos / Tactics (Need More):

Mr. Driller [Medium]: Head Drill - Short Hop - Head Drill - Short Hop - Head Drill - Recover

Up, Up, and Away [Easy]: Jump - Twirl Kick (repeat until foe is KO'd)

Spring Hog[Easy]: Jump above a ledge while opponent is recovering and perform a Spring Jump. If done correctly, foe will be unable to recover, giving you KO opportunities.

Footstool Ball [Medium]: SpinDash / Charge, hit your opponent, jump. Foe should get hit by a footstool jump.

Wreckin' Ball [Easy] : Dash Attack - Charged Punch (Foe will be BEHIND you; Use the C-Stick)

Technical Overview:

Sonic is a character that is much like Ness and Olimar: He requires advanced strategies and hard practice. In the hands of an unexperienced player, Sonic can lead to a truly bad loss by Self Destructs. But, if used regularly, and mastered, can become a rival like no other.

Melee players who mained Fox will feel right at home: Speed is the key in this character.
His fast moves more than make up for the lack of power-house atacks, specially the homing attack, spincharge, and charge punch. Although the speed is his finest point, it is also one of the worst. If you dont pay atention to what you are doing, you can easily find yourself heading for the bottomless pit.

Furthermore, his air attacks are combo-enabled. Most pros use his Twirl Kick and Head Drill as combo AND KO moves.

Final Veredict:

Sonic is for Advanced players only. He requires tactical training and a sense of space like no other. Train hard and he shall be your combo master.
