Anyone figured out how to add friends in multiplayer games?

Anyone figure out how to add friends so I can chat with them in regular multiplayer games, supposedly there is a way to add them after matches auto adding there friend code.

I'm not sure about this but try clicking on people who are in the lobby with you, maybe that will do it? I haven't tried myself yet, trying to finish the story mode.

Yea the pointer wont let you click anything if they arent your friends... but it is pretty cool that you can jump in with people on your friends list to the game they are in and even if its public.

You can only add friends who are in a private game with you...

a la MKW where you can register users who share a friend with you (the host)

however, you cannot add friends from Regionals and WWs (from what I've seen)

when in a private game, you simply press the "+" to bring up the add players option.
