"The Conduit" Ending *SPOILERS*

Hey, I just finished The Conduit's campaign mode yesterday. I would like to start a thread about the ending. I didn't really get it, but I doubt anyone else did either. START DISCUSSING!!!

Ah, the ending. I was wondering if I should make a thread on this. And the conspiracy itself.

Anyways, from what I can gather, the drudge are in an allaince with the freemasons. And they signed a treaty. The drudge made it so that the freemasons could either live forever, or that they themselves could upload their minds like promethueas did. That would mean that the john adams is really john adams. In return the drudge got alliens that the freemasons had captured from UFO's.

the story was terrible. the ending basically said "you're supposed to kill this guy, but we don't feel like actually making a full game....."

this is the kind of ending you do for the second part of trilogies.

the point where the single player stopped should have been the middle of the game and there should have been a lot more than happened before it.

it was just way too rushed. i can't believe they worked on this game as long as they did and this is all the story they came up with.


there's room for a sequel though and i hope they make enough money to make it.
i also hope they actually work on the single player next time.

there were no boss battles, no "final boss"... the guy you were trying to kill for about 2/3 of the game gets away and the guy you were supposed to kill at the beginning and then you found he was a good guy... you end up killing him anyway...

You do make a good point. For a hyped up story it was horrible. I think part of the reason might be because they didnt want the story to be in your face(as one maker said)which is so stupid I cant believe it. And no boss-battles was a big minus.

As for john adams, I think it is better that he lived. It would have messed up a sequel if he didnt. And prometheus didnt die. He's still in the ASE. Adams just cant clone him any more.

And though the in game story is dull, I've actually found that some of the secret writings are interesting. Mainly they are just simple alien things, but interesting none the less. And if you want a good story, there is plenty of conspiracy to be found.

i think they just aren't sure where to go with the story to be honest. if they can make as many vague hints as possible, they could read about some of the ideas the internets comes up with and they can use those for the sequel.

and adams should have died. SOMETHING should have happened though... that was not an ending... that was a dramatic pause before a commercial break


it seems as if it's the original adams and the "founding fathers" are trying to take back america to what it should have been....... or something.
if adams had died, there was the guy he talked to at the end and also plenty of other famous people who could have taken the reigns of power for the next game.... really we know absolutely nothing about trust or what a conduit really is (it's a portal, but where does it come from? how did they create it?), so there's so much they could (and should) expand upon on the next story where adams isn't really a necessary character.
him living or at least getting away without even a fight is just a copout ending.

The trust are the freemasons. This explains adams. He is a known freemason. Also the ASE, freemason symbol. This means that adams wants to make america strong through the new world order. A nation ruling the world. There is also a treaty involved. I would assume between the drudge and the trust. Also, I assume the man talking to adams at the end is a drudge. There has to be more drudge than just promethoeus, right.

As for conduits, that is a good question. I'm lost on it.

like every founding father was a freemason. they could have easily had a higher chain of command higher than adams and all that work in this game was just taking out a low level general or something and there's a lot more to it than we can guess.

adams being the end-all leaves very little room for expansion to the trust.


i assumed that as well, but really we don't even know.
my guess was that the drudge were just a massive race and prometheus was really just the person they chose to clone a lot...


this story is very terribly put together, i'd hate to speculate why because i fear that the writers never even considered that.

The story was thrown togther bad. It leaves tons of room for speculation. We can only hope it gets deeper in the sequel.

Well...this thread will contain some spoilers...since it's regarding your favorite plot twist in the story...so if you haven't finished the story, and don't want to have anything spoiled, I suggest going away....













Anyways, this game is FULL of plot twists, from betrayals, to discoveries, to Ford's wife was actually that one guy from high school! Ok, the last one didn't happen, but with so many plot twists in a relatively short campaign, I was curious to know what people's favorites were.

Mine is:

Prometheus is a Drudge! That I never expected at all...I think my second favorite is either him coming back as the ASE or finding out that the Trust as some actual Drudge are working together (which was like...a plot twist to cancel out a plot twist.)

that was my fav too, to think there actually was a good drudge, imagine if theres a sequel and more drudge aliens actually help you take down the trust

My favourite plot twist was when Adams turned out to be the villian. Either that, or Prometheus being a drudge.

Makes you kinda wonder if Conduit 2 is going to be like Halo 2, where you switch between the human and the alien.

I have a feeling though, that in the end the Drudge are all pretty bad and Prometheus was the only good one. I'm also wondering how an insectoid alien managed to have a name based on Greek Mythology that ironically played into the role he played in the story....
