Too much hype?

Well this game looks fun..

BUT

It has its down sides..

In all the vids i see i see the guns being over used..
I dont think this game will be taken seriously..
2 reasons.
1.) its on wii
2.) To many noobs over powering/using the guns

I think we all are over obsessing about this game.. It looks good and fun..
But definately noobish..

I think the reason everyone is excited about this game is cuz of wii speak and the 12 multiplayer online..

Tell me what you think about the hype..

I think the hype is well deserved. Every game deserves to shine a little bit & from what I see, this isn't the end. It looks like a great game, & if it isn't it has shone for atleast a little bit. But seriously.. Just like CoD, you will have spammers & abusers of every weapon. Albeit grenades or the alien rocket launchers. & really, a noob gun? Thats a poor excuse to tear down something that has taken forever to develop. Im gunna be pissed if wii owners start complaining about "noob guns" or the equivalent to RG spam. Its like some people don't know when to quit. They have given us our ration of games & they need to live with that ration because we aren't living on FPS paradise (Xbox360). This is a war of consoles & we have been rationed food/games. its best to persevere than complain about what you DO have. Just a little philosophy about CoD.. & most like the Conduit. (Note: this is not pointed to the creater of this thread.) =D

1. Its on the Wii.
Go play Brawl. There are many tournaments being held world wide & thousands of people take it seriously.
Go play MKW. Alot of people on this site alone take this game seriously not to mention how many clans there are, how many clan wars are being held every day. Alot of people take this game seriously & its atleast 70% luck 30% skill.

2. To many noobs overpowering/using the guns.

Uhh...its a FPS. You can't play without guns. Every video game has noobs in it. Get good & beat them. I have seen alot of gameplay videos. The controls look very sensitve so i believe noobs will have a harder time with aiming.
Go play Modern warfare or WaW and look at the Over powered/Over used guns being used, not to mention glitchers.
The conduit allows the host to use the *Classes* feature. You along with everyone else in the game will vote for a specific gun class: Long range, short range ECT.

From the videos i've seen the only gun that'll become OU would be the Rocket launcher, only because it'll take the less amount of skill.

Your #2 can be fixed by using Friend codes. Play who you want.

Also. I would be suprised if this game wasn't being overhyped. What games on the Wii are for hardcore gamers?
Brawl? Online sucks.
MKW? Very competitive online, alot of clans but its more luck based then anything.

The Conduit will give core gamers what they want.

The Conduit will definitely be a defining experience on the Wii, and from what I've read, will definitely have some cool multiplayer modes that I've never seen before, like Bounty Hunter mode where a specific player to kill, but at the same you are being hunted by another player. Nintendo Power compared it to Halo only in the sense that it is going to define a console's FPS games however.

Despite having a cool story, some interesting weapons, and good Wii online multiplayer, I think the biggest let-down, which is entirely our fault as gamers, not High Voltage Studio's, is that this game is not exactly genre defining. But, the FPS genre is pretty hard to redefine since to most it's pretty much treated like a sport with set rules.

I'm still going to enjoy it though. I love good FPS stories like Half-Life 2's story, Metroid Prime (although it was more the back story which was revealed over the course of the game), and even though I hated Bioshock's gameplay and absolutely loved it's story and The Conduit it looking up to be another movie quality blockbuster type story.

The storyline of this game captures my interest sharply. It's like a mystery, you have to find out what is happening. The gameplay looks very promising as well, I love the GUI of the gameplay. (Ammo, grenade #, etc)

The online gameplay blows my mind, seriously. It seems you vote for which map you want to play on, and that sounds like a good idea. This game seems so much like Halo as far as the type of enemies and the customizable skins go, but I'm sure it will either match up to Halo, or blast it out of the water.

This looks like the best FPS the Wii will get and will have for a long time, as far as graphics, gameplay and online modes go. The only thing that doesn't seem awfully realistic is the blood and how the enemies die if you know what I mean. They seem to just simply fall on their backs.

In summary; this game's hype is well deserved in my perspective.

well to start.. the vids are suppose to highlight the chaos of online play. Saying people are over using them is a silly remark. How else are you going to kill someone without firing multiple rounds off? hello??? the logic behind the argument is misconstrued. Plus... there arent any noobs dude.. the game isnt out yet >.>

ppl wont take it seriously because its a wii title? well thats fail. Thats saying mkw or brawl fail because its on a wii. which they obviously dont being that they were number one sold games for quite some time.

Everyone is excited for numerous reasons. To limit it to just 2 is really short sighted. I could list quite a few that is highlighting my experience of this game.

Hype is dying? random. if you heard captainbrawl and i talk.. you realize that the hype has not died but increased as we near towards the release. I think the judgment of this section has slowed down because we know as much as they have leaked. Once the game is out to the public.. this will be flourishing with clan wars, battles, tournaments. TBH this will be most likely the hot spot of the summer.

I dont think many people agree with you. I sure dont. Its the best FPS yet to come out for the wii with online, and that deserves hype to be the least. And being on the wii makes it worse, come on man, what is wrong with you. It might not be as good to those with xbox's and playstations who are used to FPS with cussing and more blood(not that I care much about this, but I'm sure some people do), but to people who only have the wii this is fantastic. I would probably still like and FPS better on the wii if I did have those systems. And unless I'm mistaken, every single game with online will have a whole motherload of noobs, but this might just have more sooner.

It seems like last month abunch of people were obsessing about this game now.. i dont see hardly any1 on the conduit page..

Im sure that will change when it comes out..

Now dont get me wrong im excited for the game.. its just the guns and time setting dont fit me..

Thats plenty to be hyped about for wii..
Its just the guns look terrible
