Mario:Hammer or Plunger?
Okay, we all know that Mario, circa 1981, was in construction, in both Donkey Kong and later in Wrecking Crew(with Luigi).
So he used a Hammer. But as of SMB(1985), and even to this day, why hasn't he dawned the Plumbers #1 piece of equipment: The Plunger. I mean, as the story goes: Mario and Luigi were on the job, when they heard a woman screaming from a pipe. They entered it, and were "warped" to the Mushroom Kingdom. But did they have a Plunger? NO. Even in Super Mario RPG, and all following Paper Mario games, he used the Hammer, and NOT a Plunger. Why?

Good observation, though, about the plunger... Never thought about it, really.

Yeah, the mario bros. storyline is a little confusing. First he was a real person but went to the mushroom kingdom but now he lives in the mushroom kingdom. I guess most people don't care about the old storyline now and listens to the new one.
In the new games he isn't even really a plunger boy anymore.

Which do you think has the better chance against the Dragon?
Jk. That's a good point. I am guessing that is would just be weird carrying a...plunger...everywhere. A hammer just seems more Game-like.

I guess Plungers don't have the same affect on enemies on enemies as hammers. I mean, what's Mario going to do, Plunge his enemies to death? |

well if anyone ever saw the "Super Mario Bros Super Show", in the cartoons they used wrenches, and plumbers...
I'd like to see Mario and Luigi go back to their Plumber business...

well the only reason he originally had it was to smash barrels, and smash the rivets in Donkey Kong, on his way to rescuing Pauline...

Actually, I would think that a plumber's best friend would be a wrench and not a plunger. Plumbers are most often screwing and unscrewing pipes. A plunger is just for when you stop up the toilet, but a good monkey wrench is the most important tool for a plumber's job. However, I've never seen Mario wield a wrench in anything other than the live action Mario Bros movie. Despite how lame I think that movie was, at least they did acknowledge the fact that Mario and Luigi are a pair of Italian plumbers.
