Every once in a while i come across a terribly foolish aspect put into a game, that just makes it worse. Sometimes unplayable.
Ex: The invisible enemies needing the clear magicite in ring of fates for DS(you're limited to <11 and there are about 50 invisible enemies, and so you need to resort to using your healing magicite. And a lot of the time, both miss the enemies!) So i turn on infinite clear magicite. All the limits put into brawl >_> 3min+ replays, infinite replays to send, and of course brawl plussery kinds of things. Stuff like that. And perhaps it was still a good game to begin with, but using a certain code gave you more fun out of it?

some of the Game Genie codes for SMB3 on SNES' Super Mario Allstars make the game SO much funner to play.
Always be Frog, Tanooki, or Hammer Mario-- the different quotes the King would say. Or the fact that you could kill thwomps w/ hammers--or Boom Boom w/ one--and NEVER worry about losing it. How about the Triple-Red Shell code for Mario kart 64? One of the best GameShark codes ever! One Shot Kills--handy codes... I like the One hit KO code in SSBM for Gamecube--- Giga Bowser's a Pansy...

Texture hacks in Brawl if they count.
Aside from that, stuff like the one shot kill in The Conduit....especially like in The Conduit, there's hidden stuff scattered all over the place and sometimes you just need to clear out the enemies quickly. |

And believe me there are some games out there that are hard and I haven't beat them yet. But when I do I can honestly say that I did it through skill and not with a cheat code. And the only thing I use is unlockables that change your appearance or color that's it. Anything that makes the game easier is like cheating on a test or exam. |

but yeah, sometimes I'll use em' just to SAVE time on a game-- pardon me if i dont WANT TO DIE every 10 minutes in "RESIDENT EVIL".. or have to replay a level to the point where I want to shoot my system... ![]() I'm a Cheat device user--and I'm not afraid to say that.
Besides--I don't have the patience to play a level "X"-amount of times... I like to WIN the game ASAP... and I know I'm not the only one

and I like being challenged as well
there are ALOT of games where I play them normally-- back on topic: there are some great Passwords for SSX ON TOUR on Gamecube especially "LETS PARTY"--which is the Snowball Fight code--LOL! Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike on GC had some great unlockable vehicles too.. I liked being the Jedi Starfighter throughout most of Rebel Strike. some codes are needed just to ACCOMPLISH a game faster--like having a specific item--so you dont have to spend 12 hours trying to find it. I like having the ROCKET LAUNCHER in Resident Evil from the get-go! a couple I just found for NBA Live 99 for N64 (not "cheats" per se, but funny little add-ins) Press C-LEFT when at the Free Throw line to shoot "granny style" Press R at FT Line to have the player flip the ball Idiot AI in racing games just having the opponent cars sit at the finish line. EASY win Always 1st Place in a racing game--especially for tough courses there was a "SAVE ANYWHERE" Gameshark code for N64's RE 2-- HANDY especially if you're in a tough area--and cant find a typewriter to save not really a "Cheat"--but editing players on OTHER teams in sports games is a GREAT way to go undefeated... I love using Madden Cards in Madden NFL--my fave by far is the "BINGO" card!

I've practically cheated the whole way through The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and it was still fun.

Oh, how could I forget the cheats in Star Wars: Rogue Squadron for the N64. Cheats that unlocked the TIE Interceptor, Cadillac, and of course the Naboo Starfighter a few years before Episode 1 even came out.
Plus, there was one cheat that put you into a demolishing level where you play as an AT-ST. |

But personally, my favorite game-changing cheats are the ones from Perfect Dark...mainly Hurricane Fists (punch at lightning speed) and Unlimited Ammo, No Reloads. A Rocket Launcher match with no reloads and unlimited ammo is good for a couple of laughs. Unreal Tournament takes the cake for best cheat ever. "Freeze Players"

Well...those other ships were unlockables weren't they? I remember in the original Rogue Squadron you couldn't get those three other ships without using the cheat code.
But yeah, Rogue Squadron 2 had Slave 1 and you could use it at like, the Battle for Endor and destroy everything in your path. It was awesome. |
