Should Nintendo go the way of the Sega? (a num. list on pro's if they did)

If Nintendo were to ever go 3rd party or just quit making consoles and games altogether, I'd quit gaming. I'm being dead serious. You can mark my words on that one. If Nintendo were to leave the video gaming industry (or unless they forget how to make fun games after Miyamoto retires/dies) I'd stop buying new consoles and stop buying new games. Plan and simple.

Nintendo should just keep doing what Nintendo does best, make awesome games and consoles, they shouldn't try to be like other companies.

Let me point this out. If you think the wii is bad, then take this into account. It has sold more systems and been a big hit lately than the xbox and playstation. At least a little while ago. Other people love it. So saying that you think the wii is bad is not a reason. Cause few people agree with you. And majority wins.

well that WORKED--and it gave Sega renewed life, even when Nintendo was going ahead w/ N64, and Sony released PSX...

Nintendo's TOO smart to risk losing EVERYTHING just to become a 3rd party, and MAYBE have some sort of renewed attempt at HD, or Wifi gaming...

Well the only reason why the Wii got so many sales was the motion controls which Sony first thought of around the time of one year after the PS2 was released. Nintendo stole an idea and just made whatever they could out of it and it turned into an alright controller but it helped them get back in the game,but unfortunately unless they can think of something better soon the system will die very quickly.

The only reason why Microsoft and Sony are behind was because they're systems had a slow start but unlike the Wii, those systems can fix problems with updates and make the system better. There are also plenty of add ons to go along with that. I have seen many professional gamers talk about how the Wii can't last much longer at this rate because the other two will catch up and run it over.

Nintendo has lots of money thanks to the Wii and I think the only thing it was worth was to get a boost in sale for Nintendo which it did. Now its up to Nintendo to make a newer, better system and if they can do that then the other two will most likely fall, that is if Nintendo gets their heads out of their asses.

And the ONLY reason Sony got INTO the Video game market--was to get back at Nintendo for going w/ Philips INSTEAD of Sony.

The Wii may be "dying"(God knows ALOT of haters are saying that)--but Nintendo STILL doesn't need to be a 3rd Party company.

Let Sony and Microsoft deal with their own crap.
And let Nintendo do what it does best:
Appeal to gamers of all ages, have the Mario, Zelda, and other 1st-Party games, and the 3rd party support they DO get, and don't worry about it.

Cause regardless of the critics, and lack of HD, and WIFI, and Add-Ons, THEY don't really need to worry.
Sure, all those would be nice.
But Nintendo has ONE "claim-to-fame" that the OTHERS don't have, and haven't for EVER!


BUNDLED GAMES!
Nintendo has ALWAYS Bundled games w/ systems.
Ever since SMB cam out w/ the NES.

That's the MAIN, and BIGGEST reason as to why they STILL outsell the competition.

Who wants to buy a 400 dollar system, and then shell out another 50+ bucks to get a game??
When Wii has Wii Sports, just like NES, SNES, N64, and GC ALL had Bundled games.

And ADD-ONS?
Sure they're great, but that just means that the other consoles are "incomplete" if you need to buy OTHER accessories to play a game.

Wii may only have the 1 control, and 1 Nunchuk, but atleast for backwards compatibilty of GC games, the GC games/accessories are cheap.

yeah, FC's kinda suck..
but i know it was just Nintendo's way of figuring out a "user-friendly" way of wifi gaming, and communicating--and so no hackers, or n00bs could spam the WFC...

still, its better than nothing.

Look, the wii is not dieng as fast as everyone says it is. It has slowed down due to a lack of games but still. It has a big following and is not going to be gone soon.

And even if sony used it first, they didnt use it the way Nintendo has. Which makes them seem pretty stupid in my opinion. They had the idea and trashed it out. And now we have the wii, a big hit. Also keep in mind I dont know how they used it, cause I was unaware at that time, so if they used it and it was a fail, ignore the last paragraph.

And Nintendo is fine with the system they have right now. Now I'll tell you that I want them to make a system like the gamecube was for the 64. An update in graphics. Sony and Microsoft wouldnt die then, but the wii would be selling again.

Still, Nintendo has too big a following and will not go to third party. Sony and Microsoft would first in my opinion.



And though FC are ignoring, Nintendo has a "family" inveronment. Meaning they want to keep people safe and crap like that. So we have FC.

Nintendo always succeeds in what they try...save a few exceptions...
but compared to the utter-fail that was UMD Movies from Sony, and XBOX 360s "Red ring of death"--Nintendo hasn't had any EPIC FAILS in YEARS!!

"Wii sucks"--is basically the standard argument for people who rather hate Nintendo for NOT going HD/Blue-Ray--OR--for those who had Wii, but sold it before they had a chance to get Mario Galaxy, MKWii, SSBB, or the future "Top-Sellers" that are scheduled to be released--and then couldn't find a NEW Wii anywhere when they wanted one again.

Yeah. Wii is ok, but it just isn't for me. You say UMD fails? I personally love the UMD idea for the PSP, plus you can watch movies on the go. And for the Xbox RROD, it has warranty for 3 years, so that's nothing to worry about.
