Seriously, in the real life, everybody likes the great graphics, and like Fox said. Hardcore. It means gamers that like games with great graphics, GOOD online, and violence. You know, all online games for Microsoft and Sony have headsets so you can speak. Nintendo only has two games, which is ridiculous. And if you wanna play at night, how are you gonna play with Wii Speak? You are gonna disturb your parents. Unlike the headsets, the only sound is you, which isn't very disturbing.

And not to mention I didn't get the wii for online gaming, that's what my 360 is for. I got it for the classics and fun games. And I'm into what is classified as "hardcore games" also. Doesn't mean I don't think the wii is good. |

It's simply dying. And yeah, Fox has a PS3, and I got a PSP, which I think it's better than the Wii...I enjoy it more than my Wii. And it has online, which is fun. Heck, did I have to waste $5 bucks for an internet browser? Will I have to waste $5 when I get my PS3? No. Both Microsoft and Sony have capabilities of music. Oh and, they both can play movies, not like wii. When I wanna watch a movie, I can't cause my parents are using the living room TV, and cause the wii can't play movies.

ok he has a PS3. So he has a system for the "hardcore games". There is no need to say the wii fails or is dying which it is not. If you a system that can do what you want it to, cool. Stop bitching about what the wii don't have and putting down what other people like. |

All I wanna say, is that the Wii may lack games and options, but it is a good system. Just not a system for me. I just wanna apologize Darth and everyone else. Also, Nintendo will never be 3rd Party. Never. Really am sorry was immature enough to argue.

Every system has PROBLEMS--thats why they typically only have a 4-5 year lifespane before the NEXT GEN comes out.
UMD was a great concept--but the movies didn't sell as well as Sony would have hoped... And Fox: You can't expect people on a Nintendo site to NOT over-react when it comes to someone bashing Nintendo. The site IS "Nintendo Pals" for a reason. And I'm tired of people saying the Wii is "dying"--a point in-which I feel I've been overstating myself. Okay, maybe Nintendo didn't "think it through" completely when they released Wii..and Sure, they could have added DVD or CD playability--but then the system wouldn't have sold for $250. And then it MAY not have sold as well.. and with all those "Little extras" that COULD have been added to the Wii--well, why would you want em' when for 30 bucks you can go out and BUY a DVD player, or a CD player. I'm all for Nintendo trying NEW things to expand their horizons, and delve into another aspect of the Electronics industry--but Nintendo--and I state this for the LAST time--KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE DOING! AND KNOWS HOW TO SELL SYSTEMS WITH WHAT THEY HAVE! How else would they continually make improvements to their great line of Consoles? How else would they have helped pave the way for countless other consoles, companies, and others that exist today? By "TRIAL AND ERROR" Error being VB, and CD-i. But oh, SO many successes in the least 25+ years. Nintendo may be "failing" w/ Wii, but stop getting all "whiny" about the lack of what EVERYONE wants. I'm fine with NON-HD graphics, I don't personally care about WIFI gaming... Cause maybe I don't wanna play people online. Sure, I enjoy the newer-age gaming experiences that this Gen of systems brings... but its not the same as "days of old" when Coin-Op machines, and Arcades where the ONLY place to meet people to play a Game. Maybe THIS GEN of gamers wants all the comforts of a FULLY-INTEGRATED GAMING SYSTEM AND EXPERIENCE... but not everyone!

To most people arguing in this thread, I just want to say that don't flatter yourself by pretending to speak on behalf of the "hardcore" or the "true" gamers in the world, cause you don't and probably can't seeing as the term is ill-defined. Also, be aware that gaming elitism such as saying comments like "hardcore gamers or true gamers want such and such", is what's really killing the video game industry.
What's the real reason why Nintendo will never go third party? Because they know how to run a gaming business. Other developers care so much about ratings that they go to the extreme when it comes to emulating success and they most often fail. Nintendo is trying to appease everyone. They don't need to play movies because they're goal all along was to not consume and replace the families home entertainment systems, but to become a part of it. Not everyone has an HD TV, not everyone wants to spend $500 on a console, especially one that is going to have functions that overlap with other media devises, like a DVD player. That's not to say that Nintendo is without fault, but that's also not to say that the other consoles are flawed by design. When it comes down to surviving, I personally think that Nintendo runs the best business as evident from their success on the console and handheld front and if a "true" gamer or whatever you want to call it is really a "true" gamer, then console isn't going to matter. In fact, that kind of gamer will probably be able to recognize the strengths in every console and would own all three if they can (I wish I could...) |

Srsly, waking up to these every morning is getting tiresome. Speak your oppinions, yes, but there is really no need to post more than once to threads like these and quote everyone else to tell them why there oppinion is wrong. Don't. Feed. The. Trolls. Follow this rule, and all is fine. You were all doing fine until Fox prodded you some more. Now no more.

Actually Fyree, I'm sure the system still could have sold for the same price with CD/DVD compatibility. It's not entirely much of a change that you can just do it straight with Homebrew (so I've heard). As well, one point I don't think was ever brought up was money. Nintendo can make way more money being exclusive to their system rather open on Sony and/or Microsoft. They're open to more sales, excluded from paying certain people they'd have to pay otherwise and they get practically all of their sales, rather than splitting with the console's owners. |

Okay. Theres been about a page of posts since I left and I'm not reading them all but I will say this. I'm a Nintendo fanboy, that I will admit. And many hardcore gamers do not like Nintendo because of its lack of hardcore games. But Nintendo does hold one class that has been its base for years, the family. It has family friendly games that little kids can play and have fun with. I dont here a lot of those games from the compation of it, know do you.
And when it comes down to it, we are all giving biased opinions. But the sales do not lie. The wii is not as in depth with graphics and memory as the other systems but it does ofer, as I have said, a family friendly environment. And plenty of fun games not M. Thats the only reason I dont have an xbox. Cause most of the games for it are M and I cant play M games because of my parents.
