"Gimmicky" games?
Well look at Nintendo's Mario spinoffs? All of those are "gimmicky"--any game that isn't part of a set storyline--and involves minigames, is "technically" a gimmicky game. --back to the topic-- Football(NFL) would SO work if they just had Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and a couple others as secret characters in like a "NFL Street Vol.5"--or whatever. Or as a Mario Football game--they could just fill the "gaps" in the rosters w/ Koopa Troopas, and other baddies for Bowser's team. and have Mushroom people for Mario's team--or maybe some different yoshi linebackers. It wouldn't be too tough to do. as for "Marketing" the game...I don't see why it would be all that hard for here in the US... if its put out w/ EA on the cover--it'll instantly sell copies. "Madden-Mario NFL 2011" Or make it like "Strikers" or "Superstar Baseball"--it could work.

I basically agree with all that Fyree had said. Secretive Mario characters or team would be something of a fun surprise I would think to some people on a professional game. As well, if they didn't have enough space allowing multiple characters of the same people could be allowed or just creating a smaller size of teams could work as well.
EA, yeah why don't they ever think of doing a sport game with them? |

Well... like it has been stated before... it would have to compete too heavily with current football games... mostly kids would want it ... because if you are a die hard foot ball fan what would you rather have a mario football game... or play as your favorite team?
