Why no Mario Football?

Football is a more aggressive sport where as the others mentioned aren't. Although soccer can get intense. I don't think Nintendo would want to market a more violent or aggressive sport like football.

well Nintendo and EA have made a couple games together for Gamecube: SSX On Tour(snowboarding), and NBA Street Vol.3

and it doesn't HAVE to be made in Japan!!
EA games are made here in America--so that could easily be done with Nintendo Of America...

Other than rosters, and who'd you add to a EA "NFL Street" title--there not much else thats keeping it from being done...

and violence???
yeah-EVERY sport out there(well Team-based PRO sport) has SOME violence.

and DK and Bowser would SO be Linebackers

yeah... but Fyree be honest to yourself ... do you honestly think EA will make a football game with nintendo when they may lose money, because they are already involved in football games like this one

That's funny, my original post was no bit more insulting about anything than this post was to me and it's still here. Huh.

I'm not saying this would 'cause' gimmicky games, as this topic is merely a theoretical topic.

If I were to talk as if how you're implying I am (like I'm entirely serious that what I'd said is exactly what would happen) I'll play along and say that they should halt continuation of any such gimmicky games, as these dumb spin-offs do not renew my faith in any of the game series involved. (I'm still a bit hopeful about Mario because of SMG2 being announced, though)

Also, I'm well aware Nintendo has been doing this stuff for awhile, and what I'm saying is that I'm tired of it. I don't want some other Mario sports game when they could use the same amount of effort to make another major Zelda game, or something of the sort.

Nintendo making all these 'Wii ____' games isn't making me any bit more happy about the direction that they are going in either, as it seems that they have forgotten about some of the staple series they still have, such as Kirby, Zelda, and the such.

well if they had it unlockable ... would that be a little bit odd playing as mario (saying mario because we all know he would be in there for sure) when all the other people are based off of real players , they could make it work but they would have to put a lot of work into it and I honestly don't see them wanting to put that much work into something like that

I'll agree with you there---
Nintendo DOES need to get back to making sure-fire hits, and best sellers..

but they only need to dedicate SOME of their attention to any "side projects"--
SSX on Tour, and NBA Street 3, are mainly just EA Big titles w/ Mario, Luigi and Peach licensed over to them--just as bonus characters.
thats all Nintendo would need to do.

if it doesn't sell as well, then Nintendo isn't really at fault...

and EA makes enough money from the NBA Live, Madden, and Tiger Woods franchises...
not to mention "NFS", Burnout, SIMS, and countless other big hits.
