well it said "New Member" for my custom title and I wanted to change it so I just started posting then it was changing . then I learned the VIPs can change it to w/e they want

I felt I needed to get a higher post count to be recognized on this site. It seemed people don't pay attention to you if you're a regular member or have a low post count. I started posting to get recognized around the forum, clan/guides, ect, then my friend Kjell (you all know him as Work!) joined and passed me in like two days! He felt we should race to 1,000 posts. We were at about 200 at the time we started the race. They all had to be legitimate, non-spam, 2 sentence posts. I won that one , then we decided first one to get to 1,500. At about 1,200 I really stopped caring and my post count stood still for a long time. It still is, just gradually growing, as to where Kjell's is much higher than me now. I think he's at about 2,500 nowadays lol.

NEVER Spam. That'll get you banned before you see your level go higher. Plus, it doesn't make you look good around the forum if you don't get banned for it.

I didnt care about it much at first but look at post count. I play alot of the popular video games and have every system there is so I post alot during the day and night.

Anyways, back when I had joined it was really weird because the leveling system was different. Most members were going from 1 to 9 in a matter of 2 weeks. It was easy to raise that silly level bar back in mid '07. Then one day, they changed it, and I went from a 9 back down to a 4. Confused everyone for a day or so.

But anyways, post count really doesn't matter imo. I mean, I personally, will treat a person who posted twice with the same respect as a person who posted 100,000,000 times.

I respect people on here as members regardless (and others do as well) so it shouldn't make a difference. I don't even notice that level bar anymore, it doesn't tell me anything about anyone else other than how many times you've managed to post in the forums.

Contributing to the community with well thought out posts and constructive information will help everyone, that's by far and wide a better way to gain respect.

It didn't really bother me when I first joined. I knew that I would raise my level in no time and I was more concerned with other things when I joined. I focused on making friends when I first joined. I don't post as much as I thought I would, but I found that it is more important to me to keep up with my friends than use all my free time posting. Plus all of those people that were high up in level when I got here were just here longer than me so it is easily understandable. ^_^

Yeah, it doesn't actually matter how many posts you have made and what level you are on. Some people just post in the 'Anything and Everything' to get more posts. People aren't going to not like you because you haven't posted much or you're on a low level. Just post on threads because you want to, not because you want to make heaps of posts.

Personally, i'd be glad if the whole "level" thing had a well deserved death, but I doubt it'd ever happen, too many nubs around here who's favorate pastime is pointlessly posting "lol, I agree!!1" every 2 seconds would cause a server crash or somthing with the amount of BAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW they'd produce.

Having a million posts gets you nowhere if there's no quality. Just makes you look like a mentally challenged 5 year old with OCD.

I don't really mind being a low level. I enjoy browsing threads and posting if I actually have something to say about them. Unfortunately I don't have any WiFi games yet, when I do I'm sure I will be posting more. For now I'm enjoying scoping out the reviews and the talent of the DSingers. I'm quite alright with being a new chick around here, this isn't the first forum I've gotten started fresh at. Starting at Level 0 is just a natural part of web-community life lol.

so its not as depressing...

Maybe call it "Level X", or "Level A"..
maybe change levels to Letters..
A sounds better than 0 anyways
