Let me say something...I CANT STAND THE SWINE FLU!!! I don't have it, but everyone's been saying how I do because I went to Mexico last week. Its been said to me at least 30 times in the last couple days. Everyone like "get away from me!" and "SWINE FLU!" Its like discrimination...kinda. but anyway, I hope the stop it once and for all because many are dying and its starting to spread.

It's killing people in Mexico (and only 83 as of now) because not only does the virus originate there, but we have better medical facilities here in America. People are in better overall conditions here than in Mexico so all of that together is keeping us healthier. (esp since most of the deaths were children....children have crappy immune systems bc they haven't been alive long enough to have built up strong antibodies and overall immune health) I'm tired of people calling it a pandemic...it's not. It has nothing to do with washing your hands or whatever crazy stuff I've been reading. Just stay home and relax, everything i'm telling you is a fact and I've read/seen it on CNN/MSNBC/FOX News.

Sorry for the double post... They said that it's most likely a form of the Spanish flu that hit in the 70s and probably stayed in some pigs. I also just heard that they say the virus is similar to Influenza C and A again sorry for double posting

If you are normally healthy and are not lets say 5 or 60 yrs old then you have a pretty good amiune system and that will help tremendous in helping beat the virus if by any chance you get it. The virus is spread through contact, or if someone sneezes and you inhale the sneeze, Same goes for cough. The problem with them not making a vaccine for it just yet is that, sinces its a hybrid virus (meaning that its multi species) its not as easy to make a vaccine. Yes they will make one, but they were estimating about 5 or 6 months for them to make enough to give to all the people that live in the inffected areas. In realty there is not much to panic about just enough to stay on your toes.

It's just like any other flu vaccine only normally the mutations in the strains (which always happen here) usually happen here. If that's the case they can contain it and vaccine it up very quickly...dealing with something that comes from another country they have more things to take into account (like how living situations, climate, etc affect the virus itself)

Not only that but for say Africa where the Hiv population is very high they must take in that to be very careful when administrating the vaccine, due to the HIV positive patients. As they can die even from the vaccine because there ammune system is so low.
Thats right. Actually when you get a virus it actually never leaves your body it is just sorta contained. Its like your body is preforming experimentations on it to see how to better protect itself. Sorry for the double post

Hate to break it to you but there aren't many "cures" for viruses and bacteria. Medicine usually makes you comfortable while your body does all of the work. Antibiotics kill pathogens but they also kill the good bacteria in your body (which causes all of the side effects). Vaccines are dead versions of whatever virus that your body can make antibodies for. In the event that virus enters your body, your white blood cells recognize it and get rid of it immediately.
