Death is THE most expected thing in life.
(even though in my exam the question was "whats the most UNexpected thing in life?" and the answer was Death) stoopid exam Everyone WILL die eventually. Its just a shame when it happens to young people like babies or children. |

There's been cases here in NYC...actually 49 already..but with such a high population in a concentrated area, it's kind of inevitable that it'll happen. I personally think the media is overexaggerating it. This flu isn't really that serious. I recall when the media warned us that the Avian Flu would spread through Canada and into the U.S...causing a epidemic..and that didn't happen. As to why we haven't had staggerating deaths compared to Mexico, that is because we have mandated Flu vaccines to help us fight it. In Mexico, it's not mandated as in other 3rd world countries, and many families can't afford it unfortunately. The first American to actually die from the Swine Flu was a toddler from Texas, but he already had abnormal immunity problems.

Well, this virus is known to be contagious, so your statement is partially correct, but not fully. It only remains in the air for a short period of time after someone coughs or sneezes.

Across the country, health officials had identified 91 cases of swine flu in 10 states as of Wednesday morning. Of those, five have been hospitalized, and a 23-month-old boy in Houston became the first U.S. death from the disease.
The spread of the disease prompted the Geneva-based World Health Organization to raise its alert level to its next-to-highest notch, signaling a global pandemic could be imminent.

Well, yes he died from it. He had a weak immunity which caused the flu to be seriously affected to his body.
Long story short: If you never had immunity problems, even living in NY or TX you probably don't gotta worry about jack s*** except spending a few days taking antibiotics in bed or something. Of course I apply that to non-rural regions, but if you are living in a less economically pleasant area, I question how you have a computer with internet access anyways. |

Heard it on the news. It's a new form of disease that comes from pigs. It's only killed about 20 people in the United States of America so far, which, is not all too many. If the death rate furthers into the hundreds or far hundreds I'll start to get a little nervous.
I'm positive that this new flu will be killed and eradicated soon enough ^-^.
