Since I've been playing I haven't seen the bird once. All I know is he's still in his ship. As for time appearances, I've heard/read somewhere now that he may occur at any random time, but that makes it almost impossible to spot him. Has anyone seen him, shot him down, or know any pattern?

Well I haven't seen him but i DO know someone who has seen him. He just flies around town at a random time 6am-12am on a random day. It is said you can catch him at x.x5 (x= any time). The last number should be 5. I think. Heres a link of someone shooting him down:

I've heard him in my town 4 times and was able to shoot him down once. Each time that I heard him it was on a :07 (10:07, 5:07, 6:07, etc), so it may be either :05 or :07, or maybe it's different for each town; I don't know. I read in a guide that he will only show up at the FIRST :07 (or whatever time he shows up) that occurs when you start your game.

In my town, he always starts from the left side, flying to the right, and he is always near the bottom of my town, closer to the ocean, but not right at the edge (maybe about 10-15 dig spots up). I've seen him during snowy weather, clear weather and overcast weather.

Usually, if I start my game and I'm anywhere near an :07, I'll go ahead and equip my slingshot and get somewhere on the left side of my town, down near the ocean, and I'll make my character look 'up' so that I can see him if he comes. Then I just wait until the :07 passes, since based on what I read in the guide, if he doesn't show up then, I won't see him that day.

Wow i've always wanted to know about gulliver. Thanks for making this thread Knut and everyone else who posted. In animal crossing wild world it was said he would come to the closest x.x3 or x.x7 and like what duchess said he came at x.x7's. I think she's posted the right times he should come.

What type of sound does he make when he comes? Is it the same type of noise that the air balloons make? I haven't seen him yet, but I'm not the best at looking at the sky. I'll have to notice. Thanks for the info.

Well, watch the video for anything trying to be explained, but the ship makes a droning whining mechanical noise. He also appears to be flying pretty quick, so you'd need to have your slingshot sitting in your inventory or in hand to be lucky to catch him.

I saw a UFO once in the far north heading towards the left. Its pretty fast and you need a sling shot handy. I missed him because I did not see him until he was 5 squares from the wall. So it was to late.

same as gamecube and maybe others. Gives mainly world monuments like a pissing statue... etc...

Also he gives you a metroid as part of the Nintendo Series. I think he also gave it to you in ACWW but not ACGC.

i shot him down then 2 days later he was lying on the beach mumbling about somthing (he was unconcious) Also his ship was in the ocean to.
