If you enter the store, go straight to the PTM and select "Visitor Points". This will give you three extra points. You can only do this once per day, but hey, it's something. Also just keep buying and buying and buying! Once everything's bought, keep buying from the catalog! The most expensive items! Once you can't place any more orders, go to another town and demolish their store by buying things! (With their permission of course) And if all else fails, carry on buying paper! There is an unlimited amount of paper in the store each day. If you run out of money, go out and get some more! Really, there are so many ways to get points.

The most expensive item that in the game that is orderable from Nook's catalog is the Moon (at 32,000 bells). Be sure you have this item in your catalog (if you know someone who has one, ask them if you can 'catalog it' by picking it up and then dropping it, again; this will place it into your own catalog so you can purchase it).

Save up your bells and wait for one of the Point Special days (the days where you earn 5 x the points for each item that you purchase). Go to the point machine and find out how many points you currently have. Then decide how many points you WANT.

Purchasing a Moon on a Point Special day will earn you 1600 bells (you get 1 points for every 100 bells, x5 on Point Special day; 32,000 divided by 100 = 320 x 5 = 1600).

This is assuming you are still at the lowest point membership level; this amount will go down the higher the membership level you are because the cost of the Moon will go down as you achieve higher member benefits, which equal higher % off on items.

Divide the number of points you WANT by 1600 and purchase that many Moons from your catalog. (For example, if you want 10,000 points, divide 10,000 by 1600 and you'll get 6.25, so you'll need to buy 6 moons and then something that will give you a 4th of that; you can buy another moon, or figure out something smaller, if you want).

You can figure out how much cash you need to take with you by multiplying the number of Moons you need to buy (6 moons) times how much they are (32,000). So, 6 moons x 32,000 = 192,000 bells.

If you go to get points at a friends town, you get 5 points instead of 3. ^_^

Yup, that is true. But this can only be done if you haven't already earned your visitor points at your own town.
