When I go into my Wii SHop Channel, I get to the waiting circle thing, and then after a while, it doesnt work! Error Code: 209600 I think, cant remember!
But the most &@%@*ed thing is that the rest of my internet features work! Sending messages, playing online, etc. Just the shop channel! And support.nintendo.com is sooo helpful...

omg i have the exact same problem! but i think it's just because of all the activity that is going on on the shop channel. i thought my wii had a problem because support.com said it may need repairs.
Just keep trying i guess. i really don't think it's the wii, just the channel.

I think the problem is congestion. This not only happens with the WII, but also with the DS.
There are certain hours when alot of people go on the internet, casuing various servers/functions to lagg, sometimes to the extent of you disconnecting because of the time. I have had this alot with Zelda PH on my DS, but that was a mixture of lagg from an overcrowded period of time, as well as the various electrical appliances in my house interfering. It may seem obvious, but ovens, microwaves and your other computers can interfers with your connections. Why it is only happening with one channel though I'm not quite sure. When the error comes up next note it down. The reason Nintendo can't hep is probably because your guessing the code (which is usually 5 characters long). Try Nintendo again when you have the exact code. http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/sys...rors/index.jsp Good luck. |

I have the same problem at times. I get that message in the afternoon a lot, but when I use my wii shop channel at night I get on perfectly.
I think the problem( as everyone says ) is to many people on at once. So try again at night, it may help. |

Most likely nothing to do with network congestion.
Can you confirm your Wii is still connected to your router when you enter the shop channel? You can check this from the status page of the router or from the connected clients or the connections page etc. Hold the power button on your Wii till the light turns red (4 secs). Turn the Wii back on then test your internet connection from the Wii Options | Settings | Internet, If successful carry on and connect to the Shop Channel. If not successful or you still can't get connected to the shop channel then check your routers status page to find out what's connected and again make sure that your Wii isn't being dropped when you enter the Shop Channel. |
