Laptop speaker problem???
Hello, I'm sorry I know this is a nintendo tech support but I have a problem can anyone help me out?
I recently got a new laptop and I have a question/problem with it. When I installed windows and finally my mini pci card so I went on the internet and noticed something wrong. There is no sound on my PC. There are only the beeps and stuff it does not play the audio for youtube videos or CD's/mp3's. Also the speaker thing that should be in the task bar is not there either. Does anybody know what's wrong with my laptop? Can anyone help? |

It would be great to know what laptop. to see whether we have any experience with it... And have you checked and make sure everything is set to where it should sound? You might need some drivers etc.. but with what youve asked is way to vague...

Sounds like your soundcard isn't insalled (properly).
Right click on your my computer icon and select manage, from the left pane select device manager and have a look for anything with a little yellow circle with a black exclamation mark on it, there's probaby something that says multimedia audio device or something similar. If you've had to install windows yourself then it'll need drivers that don't come on the Windows distro. Check the support section of the laptop manufacturers website for drivers for their soundcards, normally they should have a generic ac97 driver that works (although if it's an ac97 driver windows should really have picked up on it). What make/model of laptop is it you've got? |
