need help with internet...

My internet is acting weird... first there is no dial tone for the phones, but the internet works (just slower) it has been going on for weeks and i don't know how to fix it... second the verizon people say that internet without dial tone is imposible, so does that mean the modem is just killing the phone lines... i need help with this one

do you have a ADSL adapter? you need one so you can use the internet and phone at the same time.

i think so, is that the thing that you put on the phones? because that is what verizon gave us and we still don't have phones... but i forgot to say this because i was in a rage... the phones worked even when we had the modem, but soon after it stopped working and we had no phones! i'm mad at verizon now...

The only way internet access is impossible without a dialtone is if you're on dialup. If you're usually able to use both then you're not on dialup so verizon are talking crap, as they usually do.

On your side the only problem could be your cabling or the filter. If it's not that then the problem is with the service you're getting from verizon, you'll need to speak to them and get them to sort it out.

thanks we never had cabling put in by verizon so it might be the filter... but that still doesn't explain why all the phones with filters are acting up... it could be that one filter is broken on the phone we use the most or it could be that all the filters are broken... idk

ok i might be able to help tell me the modem name and version. number of phones. and what package it is like standard, high, low, speed of the internet and when you got it
