All I have to said is what if you not have any of these symptoms on my laptop?
  • My computer shut down at random
  • My computer was running slower than usual
  • I was signed out immediately as I signed in to MSN Messenger. It stopped signing me out after the third try.
  • Whenever I tried to click on a link provided by a search engine, I was redirected to
Does that mean my laptop is fine??

and can u remove the virus for free or u have to get a virus protector to get it removed??

Because i just did a scan on my laptop with my anti-virus software (Webroot Anti-Virus) just a moment ago and it didn't show any sign of this virus...

If you haven't experienced any of the symptoms, then I'm pretty sure you're safe.

Avast is dependable, but free anti-virus programs can let you down here and there. Paying for one is your best bet, and Avast can come up rather expensive... (or, so I've heard.)
I have McAfee. I'm subscribed to updates, and it updates itself at least once a month, and I scan my laptop once a week. Out of all the times it stopped viruses (from LimeWire and the internet) only two got through; Montman (that was in the early '90s, it has since become extinct) and the one you're describing... except it advertised porn, too.
The best part was when it popped up saying "You're being attacked from the internet!" when I had already locked down my computer, which blocks its internet access.

Back to the original subject, as long as you don't go wildly downloading things, you should be fine. It seems like malware that you have to download to be affected.

I used Mcafee but recently we discovered that our computer was infected with over 300 viruses that mcafee let pass by. I dont reccomend using it.

I recommend the CA(Computer Associates.inc)Security center. I bought it at staples for about $30. It came with Anti-spyware, Firewall, Anti-virus, and Anti-spam. It has blocked about 510 viruses and around 11,700 spyware attempts. Plus, all components are updated weekly. It's alot better than Norton, AVG, and McAfee.

I'm sure Best Buy will be able to help, but it'll probably be a bit pricey. Why not buy one of the anti-virus programs some people are suggesting?
Maybe do a little research before you decide on what to buy, but some of these posts should at least help you narrow down your choices.
