A Guide to posting in the Technical forum Asking Questions The following easy guidelines will ensure you get a positive answer to your problem/question quickly. They are here to benefit you. If it means you have to type 2 or 3 extra lines in order to get a better response than “It may be your computer” then by all means do so, for your own benefit 1) SEARCH! The chances are that your question has already been asked/answered, so do a simple search for some of the keywords to your question/problem. If you happen to find a thread that matches your problem simply post a reply to it. If you can't find any results from searching, or if any previous threads you find do match your searches but are locked then proceed to step 2. 2). Give as much information about the problem as possible! There’s no point shouting and screaming that xyz doesn’t work… tell us what you expect to happen or what you know should happen and what is actually happening instead. 3). Are there any error messages/codes?
5). Can you reproduce the problem after restarting the Wii or even power cycling the Wii (turning the power off and back on again). That should be enough information for pretty much anyone to diagnose any issues you’re having. If something doesn’t apply that’s fine, just say so. Responding to Questions The following easy guidelines will ensure your post is helpful and informative and not just useless crap that will get deleted or make you look stupid because it's already been addressed by someone else. 1). READ! Who cares if there are 14 pages of previous posts, if you don't read what others have posted before you then you're post more than likely isn't contributing to solving the problem, it's more than likely going to be a waste of space and time resulting in it being deleted. 2). Make sense! If your post doesn't make sense or can't be interpreted properly then what's the point in it. 3). If you're going to agree with something someone else has previously said don't just quote them and say "I agree", give reasons why you're agreeing. 4). If you're suggesting a solution then be prepared to explain it or point to something or somewhere that can explain it as everyone is on a different level of knowledge. Simply saying "it's your internet connection" is a pathetic excuse for a response to a problem. 5). TBC... - hillgroover Last edited by hillgroover; 10-11-2008 at 12:38 PM. |
