USB Keyboard?

I'm going to use a USB Keyboard for my Wii, i just noticed that one of my keyboard is optical so it won't go into the back of my Wii. But i have a wireless keyboard. How will i make that work with my Wii?

I think you just plug it into the back of your wii, into an available usb slot. I don't know if the keyboard has to be wireless, but I can see that being helpful (no mess).

To my knowledge you don't need to install anything.

You may use any USB keyboard with the Nintendo Wii. It can be wired or wireless. Simple plug it into a free usb port on the wii and your done! There is only support for a hand full of channels as it stands for keyboard use on the Wii.

The support for USB keyboards is enabled I believe from update 3.1 and up. The last update added support for keyboards in more channels.

Channel's that support Keyboard (What I have used it on)

Wii Message system
Internet Channel
Mii Channel
Wii Shop

There maybe others that can use it, this is just what I have personal used my keyboard in.

Quick Tip

When in a channel or area that can use the keyboard the num lock should turn on when you enter that area. You can also try to turn caps lock or num lock on. If they turn on/off then you can use the keyboard to enter text into what ever fields are available.
