Videogames911.com
Hey guys, so my Wii has recently...well, died...it fell over one too many times and while I trust Nintendo, it's really taking too long for them to ship me the box that I'm suppose to ship to them with my wii. I found another website called videogames911.com that claim to specialize in video game repairs and a lower price, but I want to know first if anyone has any first hand experience. Are these guys good and trustworthy? Will they rip me off? Nintendo is charging a flat rate of $89.41, but it looks like my wii just needs a new disc reader...anyone have a good guess on how much that might cost from these guys? I just wanna know before I ship it off to some strangers.

Thier website looked pretty professional. They'll probably get the job done too but they might not be as organized as Nintendo. they probably just put your wii in a bin and get to it when it's time probably. I'm not too sure. This website doesn't seem very popular though.

A day hmm? I don't think they are as good as they say they arre. They can probably get it fixed and they probably will return it but I don't think they will treat the wii properly with care when it get there. You should just go with nintendo. You shouldn't trust a site that almost no one heard of. Not too safe. That means really no one really can trust them.

I take that back, I did a more thorough search through google on these guys and apparently they are the masters.
If no one else here has used them, then I will bravely risk the frontier and report back when and if my wii returns. |

Note, the site is actually VideoGame911.com I believe. Videogames911.com brought me to a dead link.

But it's cheaper than the normal doctor, and they might have it cured and laughing again faster. Don't worry, I've already told my Wii not to eat anything that they give him, especially if it smells funny.

I see they're registered with Paypal, which is always a plus.
If they rip you off in anyway, report it to Paypal and they should sort 'em out for ya.

Well, they got it today and they were prompt to inspect and we're waiting for my approval before starting repairs. The cost? $127. That's more than Nintendo 90 flat fate. I feel kind of mad, but here's the trap: They will fix your entire unit and do everything they can to make feel like new again or they can ship it back to you for only $34. Turns out, my Wii had it's loading thing damaged along with the reader. There was also dust on the motherboard and the fan....so at least my Wii will come back almost brand new. Granted, Nintendo might have just told me "Sorry, we can't fix it, here's a new Wii with everything you couldn't back up gone", but if it was a flat rate.
My advice: If you can wait, send it to Nintendo. If you can't (darn you Sonic Unleashed!), go with these guys especially since Nintendo takes 3 to 4 weeks while these guys take a little less than 1. I guess you pay for the service.... |
