Lag doesn't depend on just one persons connection. But I am not sure about the answer to your question, sorry. D:

It depends on how many people are using your Wi-Fi at once. If it is just you you should be fine but if too many people are using it at once then you will start to run into problems. Generally, your computer will load a bit slower when connected to Wi-Fi but not alot.

Sorry, to say this, but Lag is unavoidable... It's not about your connection, but the connection between your Wii, and your opponents Wii. No matter how fast the internet, lag may still occur.
If anyone can prove me wrong, than they will be a saint in my eyes!

Are you asking about what wireless standard you should go with for your home wireless network equipment?
This would be 802.11a - 1mbit 802.11b - 10mbit 802.11g - 54mbit ect.... ??

If you have not picked your wireless router here is a little info. The Wii/PS3/DS/PSP all run on 802.11G standard, so 54mbit.
There are many routers that go above this speed and if you wish to get one it will work find with any of the systems, the gains in speed will only be worth it with a device that is able to achieve the full speed of the router, most times PC's. So I would go for a nice 802.11g router. You want to find a router that has a little more configuration for the most part. Other then that some offer a little better security. But this will not matter if your running say a DS due to its lack of newer security features. So I hope that helps answer your question.
