hi everyone, i'm new to these forums. Soon enough I'll be having the internet on my Wii and could play online.

I'm having the image of a lot of games "resized" .. no missing information or cutoffs from the actual game, its just resized with a black border all round (worst case scenario: 5cms of black border all around when playing 'professor heinz wolffs gravity'). The system menu is all right.

my setup is this:
32" LG LCD model: 32LG3000
24K gold plated Component cable, 480P 60hz (3rd party)
Wii 3.2E PAL, HBC v1.0.3 and cios36rev9, Backup launcher 0.3 gamma with 002fix

All games that I have black borders are all PAL.
I tried the following without having any success:
> changing the settings of the LCD and Wii
> using the standard cable which comes with the wii: the black border was reduced by 50%
> changing the cios version
> using the same version of backup launcher but downloaded the wad file from a different source.

Pls note that i'm also having black borders with Sudoku Challenge (WiiWare). Below is a picture of my actual problem.

Hope someone could help me out. thanks a lot!

It's either a problem with the TV screen or with your cables from what I'm seeing...

Try looking the problem up on Google and see what you find.

I did, and spent A LOT of time.

As I said, I tried hooking up my Wii with 2 Different LCD's and with two different cables (Component cables which were bought seperately and with the standard cables which comes with the Wii)

The max resolution of the Wii is 480 pixels, and looking at the image you provided, it appears you use a HDTV that is wider than that the Wii can support. The Wii is not exactly HD compatible. Those games you listed probably do not display properly because of this issue. Use a Wii HD component cable (you can Google the bold text to find out more about it), or simply switch to a different television that has a resolution of 480p or less.

how is that possible? As far as I know I can only change the refresh rate of the PC and not the Wii. Besides, i dont think thats possible to change directly from the tv :/

I'd say it's because the screen is too wide and the game won't stretch the full length of the TV. Or it's just how it's meant to be.
