Wii emitting loud noise
Hi everybody. My Wii has fell on the floor multiple times from my T.V. table which would be around 1 ft. or maybe a little more. Please don't tell me that I should take better care of my Wii because I know that and I don't need to be told that again. It recently fell when I tripped over my Gamecube controller wire. Now when I turn it on and start a game, it emits a very loud noise that sounds like a razor, but it gets a bit quieter after a moment but it still emits a noise louder than before. Also, my controller seems a little unresponsive since then. So does anyone know how to fix this? Know any good precautions that I should take? Any idea what might happen if it falls again?

I suggest you look up what sort of damage that might do to your Wii on Google. For now I wouldn't worry about it but you should try taking better care of your Wii from now on unless you want to end up buying a new one.

Hey. Does the razor noise only come up when a disk is inserted in the wii?
If it falls again, it'll prolly stop working, or I think it'll be difficult for the wii to read your games which makes you incapable of playing them. Also, try using a different controller. If the same effects come up, then I dont know how to help you there, but I hope I've helped a little. This might be able to help http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/sys...a/ts/index.jsp

The noise comes up when I start up the Wii, and when I start up a game. So I guess that counts. Well you did answer one of my questions. Thanks Complex

There is prolly something broken/ damaged inside the wii or something. In that case when you put a disk in check to see if it's stracthed. You may need to send it to nintendo to get it fixed or get professional help.

Mine was doing the same thing. Does it sound like this?
First Wii shown in this video is normal, second is one with problem If so, you can send it to Nintendo for repairs... Or, what I did to fix it.

Yeah, that's exactly what it sounds like! Will it cost any money to send it to Nintendo for repairs? I'm not quite comfortable disassembling my Wii

"Its a manufacturing flaw when the Nintendo company made the wii at their factory.
The problem lies on the top metal case portion of the disc drive where the screws holding it in place are bound a bit tighter than they should causing limited space between the case and the surface of the Wii disc causing it to pinnch as its reading, hence creating that Reving Buzz sound. To solve this issue is to call The Nintendo toll free tech support (1-800-255-3700) and request a new repair issue regarding a game console you purchased from the Nintendo company. Simply send the Wii along, no extensions, cords or remote, just the Wii" Found this here Hope that helps. I don't think there is a charge for this issue.
