Wii error
Hi,
i got these 2 msgs when i tried to play one of the latest wii games: "The system files are corrupted. please refer to the wii operations manual for help troubleshooting. An error has occurred. press the eject button and remove the disc, then turn the wii console off and refer to the wii operations manual for help troubleshooting." Does anyone else faced this? i suspect it may have something to do with the latest wii console firmware updates from wiiconnect24. |

Well it probably wasn't the latest firmware update since they usually come with the update when you first play the game. If you havn't updated lately, go to test out your connection and then perform a update.
It could be the disc's problemm (Though I doubt it) or from many other people it could be the disc reader in your wii. You might need one of those disc cleaners or send iti to Nintendo for repairs. Reply and tell me what happens.

It may not be the disc becuase the screen would say no disc detected or something. Try and update your system

These are the only things I can think of.
1st statement:If you have played the game before , your saved data might be corrupted. 2nd statement:Try cleaning the disk. Or do what Takako and Angelstar said, update the Wii. |

Some discs come with included updates, like Metroid Prime 3. Did you update?

Yeah, thats what I said. Games with new updates and doesn't detect the new update it updates it for you.
Did you play it before? Did it work before?

I have faced the first statement about 2 times. All I had to do was reset my console and everything was back to normal. Nothing was infected/damaged.
As for the second statement I have not encountered it. Does your disc have any scratches on it? Fingerprints?

Guys, it's just great that there were so many helpful responses here.
Well, i just received my console and games over the past last week so i dont think it's that. But i could play tiger woods, mario brawl and de blop last week. That failed after i established connection with wiiconnect24 and downloaded some firmware update. I noticed also that there is one more update that i could do from wiiconnect24, but had not coz i was afraid that might be the cause. No problem with older games like Mario Galaxy, Sports, Mario Kart, etc. |

well, i do have a modded wii console. It's JP Spec. I wonder whether the latest firmware affects it.
It's too much of a coincidence that only the latest games have problems while the older ones are not affected in any way. Either way, it's still bad news for me unless someone help find a solution. |
