In need of a GIMP Brush Downloading Tutorial
There has been a lot of problems when it comes to getting brushes onto GIMP. I use GIMP 2.4.6 and I cannot get any brushes onto my program, no matter what file type they are. Many people have this same problem. I tried .abr brushes like ZG-Kitty suggested, but with no success.
What we need: Step-by-step tutorial; leave nothing out Screenshots of each important step An amazing person to actually pay attention to our gimpy needs Thank you.

I'd like to see this as well.
I don't know if using Vista makes any difference, but I have no idea how to download and use brushes, and yes, I have tried. I guide with every single little mickey mouse step shown would be appreciated.

Try using the GIMP website... have you tryed that yet?
I don't have any pictures, but this is what I do: 1. Download Brushes 2. Open the File where the brushes are located. 3. Open a new window (My Computer) and find "GIMP", it would be labeled as software or something. 4. Go to Share>GIMP (Keep on going until you see a folder named "Brushes"). 5. Open "Brushes". 6. Now you should have 2 windows, one with the new brushes and one with the GIMP Brushes. First Un-zip the brushes folder, if it is already, that's OK. Here's the tricky part. Minimize both windows so you can see both on your desktop screen. Then, you simply highlight/select all of the brushes you want downloaded, and drag and drop them into the GIMP Brushes Folder. You're basically just moving them from one window to the other. That should work... I'll try to get pictures as soon as I can, try it anyway.

I thank you both for making these, but I have problems with both of the methods.
Juggernaut: I can't seem to find GIMP in My Computer. I'll keep looking, but I just don't see it. ZG-Kitty: WinRAR is not a selectable file type on my computer. How do I get it? I am using a Windows XP if that helps any. For some reason, after I did a custom re-install of GIMP, it is letting me add .abr brushes to my file. Thanks for everything, guys.

Now I need to learn how to download fonts, or is that just the same, but in the 'text' or 'font' folder?

For Font, it's the same process, but at step 4: Extracting the brush just find your FONTS folder.
It should be in your control panel somewhere too, (you can also drag the file between windows to extract after it's been extracted in the same file) the file should be Windows>Fonts |

And if your trying to add Japanese text or something, I actually got the text box, and copied and pasted the Japanese text into the box. It then shows up...
