What is a signature?

The Beginning

In the early months of Nintendo Worlds (when it was WiiPals)... there was one forum that was pretty much the most unused. This forum is...Mario Paint...now known as one of the most popular forums on our site.

From then, sick minded people like myself and Requiem changed the forum-classic definition of what a "signature" was.

Forum-Signature:
I want us to be a forum... that uses their signatures wisely.
Signatures are good ways to support something, like a clan or group.

We don't need to spend so much time worrying on every little detail, a signature is a signature. Either way...all effect-ridden or simplistic, they both look nice...BUT the simple version is more useful.

Use signatures to display your friend codes in appealing ways.

These are the kind of signatures that we used to use WAY BACK.

What do I want to do?
I want to bring back these kind of signatures, not that they TAKE OVER the site, but that we tend to get used to and like this style.

WHY?!??!
1.They don't look that cool...
2. They're so simple, anyone could make that.
3. Doesn't even have shiny explosions and effects everywhere, wtf?!

1. They actually do look nice.
They are banners that are SIMPLE and CLEAN. (not the Kingdom Hearts Opening)

2. Because they are simple, think about how much easier and faster DSigners will be able to supply requests.

3. Why do we even need effects everywhere and make it look completely awesome?? It's just a signature, we change it like...every week anyway...(at least some of us, lol :P)

DOES THIS MEAN NO MORE COOL GFX-AWESOME SIGNATURES?!?

No, this does not mean that the DSigners will not supply you with signatures that look all graphic-intense.
Personally, I'll make lots of "banners" in the shop, but due some more Graphic-intense signatures for things like SOTW, or maybe if someone really wanted one.

I am not forcing the forum into this, just a sort of message to try and get us to look paste all the awesome effects to what a signature really is. Something to stick with, a "signature"...something people recognize you by.

Yeah, I see your point ZG. The hard ones take more time to do. But, I make my sigs myself usually. I dunno if they are what you call "Graphiclly intense" or whatever, but that dosnt matter since I make them myself right? And I dont switch that often if I got my sig from a DSigner, only if I made them myself. I really like the ones you DSigners make that are that kind of "intense", but those simple ones look good to, but the intense ones look better imo. XD But I get it, dont ask for the ones that take a lot of time as often, right?

Just to clarify things.
This is NOT a rule.
This is just a reminder of what signatures can be useful of on a forum where we use things like friend codes so much.

This is in no way,shape or form a banishment of any type of signature.
You'll seen "fancy" signatures just as much as before, I'm just saying that if you don't care whether it's flashy or not, it's always an option.

I'm saying that you shouldn't be too conservative if you see more cleaner, simpler styles around

I personally think that this is a rather good idea ZG. It will enable people to not have to worry about having an overly flashy and detailed signature rather they can have a functional and practical signature. Not only will this help us get past all of the awesome effects and save them for SOTW, but I agree with you that this will give people something to be recognized by and become an actual "signature" of who they are.
Not to mention this will allow the DSigners to get signatures done faster and without as much pressure and stress to put forth immense amounts of creative effort rather than practicality.
