Well I found my fire red version and was wondering if I should start this game again? Is it worth it?

either for that or if you need an Item to get magmar and electabuzz to evolve... Either way i guess.

Yes. And pick Charmander, so your legendary dog will be Suicune. It seems to be the most desirable of the three.
