Latias & Latios are confirmed as being in HG/SS

At various points, you will also be able to get a starter from each of Kanto & Hoenn!

New just in:- it is confirmed on serebii.net that some or all shiny pkmn will retain their alternate colours when they follow you outside their pokeball.

It is also confirmed that you get one starter pkmn from both the first and third series. How to get:-

The Kanto starters you obtain from Prof. Oak after defeating all 16 gymleaders and defeating Red.

The Hoenn starters you obtain from a man at Silph. Co after defeating Red.

Many more things besides this may be unlocked after defeating Red, suggesting that there is two halves to the storyline with many extras after beating the main and sub stories.

I can't wait until Heartgold and SoulSliver comes out in the us!!!

It has been found out that you can get raquaza on both games, but only if you have both groudon and kyogre. And to make it harder, you need to trade them to get access (i.e. if you have caught kyogre on heart gold you need to get the groudon that is on soul silver). This means no hacks, no clones and no transferred versions of these two, just the ones included in game.
